  1. What I think I like the best is the reverse slopes for the roof line compared to the (very) large advertisment teeth and water tower, it adds a ramshakle look without making it look like a simple kit bash. Great job. Regards, Carl
  2. NIce job, and a good limited pallete. Regards, Carl
  3. I do like the term night camo for the primer black models. Sadley I see this to much, I think this is how the LGS owner got me to paint his...so perhaps it is a trap:) That said, I tend to paint very clean, so I think it falls under cartoon.
  4. Typically what I do is buy jewelry chain (Joann's fabrics) put some thin wire through it ant just replace it altogether. In this manner you can also play with it's pose as well.
  5. Hello, I have had a few of these moments. The first was a competion painted GW forest dragon, I was up till 3 Am lovingly painting highlights on each scale, and tinting the teeth smiling as the competion was in 7 hours. Steping outside to matte coat it I grabed the coat and it was dark as the devil's heart, no big I sprayed for about 2 minutes and realized at that point it seemed to be getting darker? I ran inside to find I had sprayed it with black armory primer><. The second one was a 10 year old child knocking my metal bloodthirster off a table, busting him to pieces, while the mother just looked on and said well it should not be out. (he was 2 feet into th egame table and the child picked him up and dropped him when his mom turned) I banned them both.
  6. One of the hings I noticed here that was subtle yes great was the fact that you used the stiching and the placement of it to look like a set of lips for her, great Job!
  7. I never really feel bad about my first few years of painting, many moons ago, the miniatures were still full of lead goodness and you could accidently rub a nose off a ogre with a swipe of your thumb due to the softness of the pewter. My wife having seen a few of my Ral Partha pieces of goodness will still comment on how horrible the paintjob was. I just tell her, "hey, I had not learned that licking your brush was not the best way to get a point on it, especially with testors enamels". Of course she does not find that funny, but you might. So as one of the other midnight painters out there I salute you! I am also impressed that in Detroit you were able to get the U-Haul through the construction unscathed. Regards, Carl
  8. In all honesty the one I wanted did not win, however look at it lke this, your getting a decision in the creative process and release of new toys. Not many companies would do that. Certainly GW would not. So all in all not bad, besides it is not like the other will not get released. Regards, Carl
  9. I guess I am lucky in a sense, most of the LGS I go to have open (used) minis, as well as single minis for sale all the time. So the climate in them helps things like this. If I want to find someone to trade minis with (or sometimes a entire army) it is not that hard. Do I think 32$ a started is a bit much, no, not really but I am more of a painter and modeler. After all a "starter box" for Space marines of which you will not use all of is 90$ and a single model mounted is around 30$. I also will pay up to 30$+ for a single mini if it is a amazing sculpt (Kingdom Death), even if I can not use it in a game. Regards, Carl
  10. I must admit the scissors thing seems like a rather unfair weapon against other puppets!
