  1. Okay, thanks for the info, I'll pass it along, was kind of hoping I found a chink in their armor so to speak. Guess it's Hans to the rescue and time to reach out and splat a bird!
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, it's why I'm asking afterall, would the following be correct? A Guild Austringer uses its Raptor Attack, normally a 12 inch range, but with Foucs to gain the (gun symbol) 18 inch range, therefore gaining the Projectile symbol along with the bonus range; meaning that attack loses the "ignores cover" part of the normal range 12 attack, and has to follow the rules for Projectiles. ( page 38 of the big rulebook) Just asking because I think the group I'm in has been letting that bit slide, and it makes the Austringer a bit OP, but figured I'd ask and see what thoughts are on the topic.
  3. Thanks, figured I had it right, but just wanted to check. Love this forum, never have to wait more than an hour to have someone pop up. Happy gaming!
  4. This came up in a game, and I think I know the answer, but to make it clear I'll toss out this situation and see if I'm correct. Bad Juju with the Eternal Fiend upgrade, has The Hanged's "Whispers from Beyond" successfully cast upon him; giving Bad Juju the condition "Glimpse the Inevitable :This model may not be healed." Later on Bad Juju dies, Eternal Fiend kicks in, and says that he does not die, beomes buried, and "removes all conditions and heals all damage." Am I correct in believing that Eternal Fiend will wipe the Glimpse away, he will heal , and then have to wait until the other requirements for his return to the table are met? We finished the game under that assumption, but I don't see where it's wrong. Thanks for any help!
  5. The last bad thing to happen was a poor little Sabertooth surrounded by 4 K9 Remains and Sebastian....it did not end well for the cat! ;-)
  6. Cool and thanks, just wanted to be clear on it before I hit the table and had to listen to any whining. Wasn't too sure on the S.S. still usable part if bought as a Merc, so that clears things up nicely!
  7. The new rulebook states his Eternal ability this way: Eternal: This model may begin the game buried instead of being deployed. When this model is killed (not sacrificed), it is not killed. Instead, bury this model. Remove all Conditions and heal all damage on this model. So, since he isn't actually killed, just buried and healed of all effects, I would say he doesn't trigger any ability that needs a "killed" requirement to trigger an effect/ability. So the Reckoning Strategy would require you to Kill another model, and the Executioner would not get to Heal.
  8. Situation: Playing a low S.S. game, using Myranda for a Leader of an Arcanist Crew; and I choose to throw Taelor into my crew as a Merc for some extra close in punch.. Questions: Even though Taelor is a Henchman herself, she's not my Main Faction Henchman/Leader, and since she is hired as a Merc, can she still use up to 2 upgrades, but from my Arcanist Crew's list? Also, can Taelor still use her "use soul stone" ability or is it lost to her while she's just extra muscle and not the crew leader?
  9. If you're running Misaki as a Outcast Master, then your list should be correct, and you would have to "hire" any extra Last Blossoms as your 2 Mercs choices. You would have to pay the extra Soul Stones too, since the models would be coming from the 10T Faction, and not the Outcasts. It would probably be better to run her as the 10T Master, narrow down your Outcast choices and buy them as your 2 Mercs. You are correct about the Mercenary trait; as long as the card doesn't forbid their use with a Faction, a model with Mercenary can be use by any Faction that pays the extra S.S. I myself have a nasty combo of Oiran & Hans in a Marcus crew. Just remember that if you add a Merc who can use upgrades, the upgrades come from the Main Faction, not the Merc's original faction! Hope it helps, this my reading of it, but by no means is it official, I don't work for the company. :-)
  10. When I posted, I never thought the response would be so great; it's nice to know twisted minds think alike. The spark for some of this came from reading a fun D&D blog entry (http://walllandbeyond.blogspot.com/2012/07/misadventure-of-gildrid-and-miss.html) while working on a short lived attempt at getting my game group to take another stab at 4E. Once that crashed & burned, the idea sat on the back burner...waiting. Then I happened to go back over Marcus' story, and the need for giant, man-eating plants, and the odd patch of forest that reaches out and clobbers your opponent, started to rear it's leafy head again. So hopefully if there's enough time and room to cram it all into, a few extras like a giant man eating plant, maybe a 50mm based tree that can scuttle around and reach a good distance in Melee, while slurping up Corpse counters to heal itself would be fun. The gamer in me likes to mine ideas from all over, so possibly some sort of Undead/Spirit/Neverborn tainted, 50mm critter that can kill and spawn smaller clones might be workable too. Either way, I'm still collecting even though I swore I'd stop at 2 crews! Loving the new artwork released for V.2, and I predict this year will be a somewhat costly one with all the RPG & mini stuff that keeps getting added to my list. Maybe Gen-Con will have an explosion of leafiness and thorns to surprise us...? --fingers crossed--
  11. Forgive me if this has been brought up somewhere else, but I'm feeling lazy. Just going over the rule books again the other night, and I happened upon Marcus' entry which mentions that he uses the strange and unusual flora & fauna of the lands beyond the Breach, to aid him. Well so far we've gotten a number of flesh n blood beasties, but other than Bad Juju, and the Waldgeists, we really haven't run into any freaky flora. I was just wondering if there's any plans for some new fodder coming down the tracks, say a giant, animate man-eating plant, or creepy vines that use scrap or corpses to move about, you know, the classic weird fantasy crap? It seems fitting, and I can see uses for a number of crews, not only ones run by Marcus, but just tossing the idea out there. Anybody else have any ideas along these lines, feel free to sound off.
  12. I would agree with Bobzilla's version of how it works, there is no resistance, so the Judge is simply casting a spell on himself, which if successful, allows him to strike any target within range, with both weapons at the -2 Cb penalty( the trade off for the double attack and using the Blade at range). The spell simply affects the Judge, and allows him to choose a viable target, it doesn't affect the target until the two separate attacks are made, so Counterspell wouldn't work, and Bulletproof would work against the Long Arm Pistol strike, but not the Long Arm Blade strike.
  13. I found Johan to be a big help for some good melee & ranged damage, plus the cheaper cost; but a Ronin does fairly well in the same situation, if you can afford the Soul Stones. I tend to swap out the Ronin for Misaki, or Hans depending on what I'm going up against, and if I can afford it; though lately I've tried the "Circus Act" by throwing in a Sabertooth Cerebus or Razorspine Rattler, and a Gamin or two. These team-ups all seem to work, but I admit to having a lack of huge numbers of games under my belt to pick a "super-combo", so have fun with it and proxy a few things before you go spending on something you find out you hate afterwards.
  14. I think you could get away with the Waldgeists, McTavish, Insidious Madness, and the Widow Weaver, given the right paint jobs on the Weaver and Madness. The Waldgeists and McTavish would certainly fit, the other two just need a bit of planning to make them look the part. Give the Weaver an old, rotten gown, something that looks like it's been dragged through the muck. The I.M. can just be done up in Earthy colors and maybe add some bits of flock, small stone, even some grass to give it that "nightmare from the swamp" feel. Basically go all 50's drive-in horror movie on them, and it should work quite well.
