  1. I just remembered that I have a partially assembled Miss Step, unpainted and un-based, if anyone is interested.
  2. Hey all, I'm sad to say that I'm selling the majority of my tabletop collection. Sadly, there's no one closer than a ~500mi round trip to visit Sassylady or CrouchingMoose to get Malifaux games in with, and as a poor hopeful-soon-to-be student I can't justify keeping all these miniatures that I'll never finish painting or get to play with. All minis are in varying states of assembly, and many are fully or partially painted. I'll upload pictures in the next day or two (or I can text / tweet specific pics upon request sooner). :::MALIFAUX::: The Guild: Lady Justice plastic Box Set Generic Guild Model from the plastic Wendigo from the Rasputina plastic Box Set (partially converted into an Austringer, but there's no bird so it could be whatever you want) Guild stat card deck Arcanists: Rasputina 1st Edition Metal box set (Gamin and Ice Golem painted) Rasputina plastic Box Set Snowstorm (fully painted and based) Silent One (Might be based and painted, can't remember if I disassembled it or not) Essence of Power (fully painted and based Viktor Ramos 1st Edition Metal Arcanist stat card deck Outcasts: *NO 2e STAT CARDS* The Viktorias 1st Edition metal Box Set Ronin metal blister (3 ronin; two of which have green stuffed shirts) Librarian, metal Avatar of Slaughter, metal Ten Thunders: Mei Feng The rest of the Mei Feng box set Ten Thunders stat card deck Other: Red Malifaux Battlefoam bag; includes all the plucked foam from the large bottom tray Ice Wall, 2x Big Base (For Rasputinas' spell) Guild Fate Deck (includes high quality deck sleeves and a deck box) 1.5e Stat Cards for Rasputina, Ramos, Viks, Mei Feng crews and models; laminated. Will include if requested A very basic "Breach Portal" terrain piece. I think it looks like crap, but I never really liked any of the terrain I made; you may think differently. :::OTHER GAMES::: Warmachine/Hordes: Baldur Stonecleaver Shifting Stones, x3 Stone Keeper Wold Guardian Woldwarden (fully painted and based, not by me) Warhammer 40,000: NOTE: If anyone is interested in 40K stuff, I'll figure out what exactly I have and put it up here. What I do know I have, is... Necron Lord Michael Jackson (feat. Crotch grab) Necron Thriller-Warriors (x10, IIRC; repositioned like so: http://shirtoid.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/zombie-dance-crew.jpg) various Marines What I'll do with the pictures is make a blog post of everything I have up for grabs and link it here to cut down on clutter here... Or like I mentioned before, tweet me (@bladebaka) or PM me for my phone number and I'll tweet / text whatever models you're interested in. Unless I am told to do otherwise, DM me on twitter (@bladebaka) or PM me on the forums here for price requests or to make an offer. --Blade
  3. I like how after I move from the area a store starts carrying Malifaux and a Henchman shows up. Just my luck!
  4. Well considering a riposte is an attack of opportunity after a parry, occasionally using the opponents' blade against them, I could see how it coul work either way. Also, Lady J is blind, so how would a LoS rule fit her fluff? At the same time, Riposte as it reads right now means that IF attacked while buried (a very rare occurrence for the fencing femme fatale) she can respond if the conditions are right. Like if they stab through a portal or something. Or even a "mental riposte" as it were; I'm sure it's well within her training to be mentally conditioned for defending herself in that manner. If this isn't how the rules were supposed to interact, then I move for such rules to not be melee attack actions. --Blade PS: I've only played like 7 games of Malifaux ever, 6 of which are M2e, so feel free to ignore me
  5. Hey all So I have the new Rasputina box. I dislike the Wendeeego on a schmuck because, to my taste, it looks tacky. So I neglected to put him on the schmuck. Here's the end result: Open Spoiler What I need now is to find some birdie to perch on his outstretched arm (or launching from it, etc) so if anyone has any links or spare minis that fit the bill, lemme know! --Blade
  6. And I thought I was being clever.
  7. Hey, I had a crazy idea/thought today in my game with Rameses. Wouldn't it be fun/beneficial (albeit occasionally) to stick one of your own models in a Pine Box to safely kite said model around the board? Can anyone think of any situations where this sort of insured delivery system would be ideal or beneficial? I'm honestly just spitballing here, but it feels like it could be a good way to keep, say, your Scales or Lady safe for a little bit as you maneuver about the field. --Blade
  8. I would like to play some games on VASSAL this weekend. I'm still kind of new to playing Malifaux (not to mention VASSAL) and most of my Twitter friends seem to be busy this weekend... So I'm up for getting stomped about! Should be fun! If you'd like a game, mention me on Twitter (@bladebaka) and I should get a response to you quickly
  9. They ought to be Rare 1, considering the fluff.
  10. Thanks Fenton, I'll try that out next time. I keep trying to blob squad the gamin and golem about the field together and displace the gamin for objective grabbing endgame, but that plan usually falls apart late turn 1/early turn 2. I'm honestly not looking forward to anything else of hers besides Snowy; I've had his model since he debuted and he looks beast on paper so far. However, the Silent One looks subpar now. I mean, the only reason previously to take her (iirc, I've never played 1.5 Raspy, but I read the PMF articles) was for the Perfect Mirror ability, which is now replaceable at base... Blessed might be interesting.
  11. Melee is melee, no matter how you look at it. To a complete newb (i.e. Me) she appears to be Ms-Lightspeed-Beatstick Extraordinaire if her crew is just right. And I don't remember seeing any ranged damage dealers on her M1.5e stat cards... So I hold that she's melee, and Justin probably classifies her as 10T since that's her faction of origin.
  12. I agree with this on paper, but in most of my games they just get melted or perforated practically before I can do anything. Maybe I'm just playing her versus the wrong opponents? (Sonnia and Schill) And yes, for the cost I definitely see them as being super cost-effective. Its just the high Ml and Sh or Ca I've seen thus far that just makes their armor insignificant, or Friekorps just laugh at it and poke you with high velocity metal bits. I've been considering taking a Razorspine or something though, what do you think? (wait, is that even legal? Here, rulebook, rulebook, rulebook...)
  13. Hey guys! Thought I'd weigh in with my little smidge of what I can classify as 'experience'. I've played a grand total of 5 games of Malifaux (4 of which have been M2E, 3 as 'Tina). First two games were the new Box plus an Acolyte and Child, Cold, Pawn on Raspy and Subzero on Mm. Ike C. Fiste. Second was Box plus 1 Ice Gamin, Acolyte, Cold and Pawn. Lost all three, with only Raspy alive at the end (which spawned two new Achievements for the next tourney hosted by my friend @CrouchingMoose) of each. Honestly, I find that the entire crew (sans Raspy) dies waaaaaay too easily. Everyone and their grandmother either ignores armor or does so much damage that my models might as well be blue M&Ms in front of a toddler. Reading through this thread, I've seen a few things I didn't try before (I guess I'm still stuck in my 40K mindset of 'damage, damage, damage!') because December's Curse just looked (and still kind of does) too good to pass up. Especially when you have a grip full of high Masks/Jokers... I got to kill Sonnia twice with 3 casts of December's Curse and triggering Overpower each time, and didn't find out until after the second game that we both had interpreted Sonnias' Counterspell ability all wrong... whoopsie! But yeah, those poor Gamin could do with one or two more Wds IMHO. I understand why the Golem is so damn easy to hit (a walking Iceberg? Sure, I'll shoot that, thankyouverymuch), but why do the Gamin (and the Wendigo and the Acolyte?) have to be so dang easy to squish? --Blade PS: On a side note, I've been told I should spend my Cache on stuff besides cards... But the deck filtering seems the best use for them to my ex-MtG mindset. I rarely remember I can use them for other stuff anyhow...
  14. I'll get to painting the rest of my crews then! Hopefully I can make it out that way!
  15. Update: About a month ago when Joe from Cheated Fates Radio first told me he was visiting South Carolina for a work thing, and mentioned the possibility of getting together for an intro game, my spark got relit. My minis had taken a long bath and been packed away in pieces for possible future reassembling and painting around a year prior, as there was no Malifaux community in the area of Texas I used to live in. There isn't much around here, either, but at least there are communities at the two nearest metropoli, Atlanta and Greensboro. So, sadly, I had lost the basing material I'd used for all my previous miniatures - however I still had some 40K detritus around, and used some "metal" platforms and some "double diamond" sheet styrene I found at Hobby Lobby to get some basing together. I discovered that many of the (original) Steampunk Arachnids had their leg-pins break off. I managed to reattach them, but decided that magnetizing them was no longer an option due to their new fragility. I ordered two new sets of spoiders to complement them, Avatar Ramos, Electrical Creation, Soulstone Miner, and a Mechanical Rider. All of the minis I own for Ramos are finished, except for my Steamborg and my Brass Arachnid. I don't think I'll ever use those two for Ramos, as Rider and Toolkit are better anyhow. However... I bought the Mei Feng box today at The Tower Game Center in Suwanee, GA, as well as picked up my Malifaux Battlefoam bag and some Secret Weapons Miniatures bases, which were a spontaneous buy. I got the Asian Garden/zen/whatever set of 10 30mm Round-lip bases. They looked awesome, and I intended to use them originally for my small Viks crew... But I think my Arcanists obsession is creeping up on me. They ended up being used for Mei and her crew, with one of my old casts of a 40mm base being gussied up for Kang to look similar. So I suppose I'm a complete Arcanists player now, without ever playing the game (a task that has ever eluded me!). I definitely like the whole Steampunk/construct business, that's for sure. I planned on buying a crapload of models when I heard the annoucement of 2nd Ed. in the near future, and new sculpts and plastics, and decided that I'd wait, unless the stuff I get is resin or plastic already. Holy pants, I have 111pts of Arcanist goodness. 83 of it is Ramos and Mei Feng compatible. I think these are going to be my masters of choice, for sure. I'll post decent pics as I get them. --Blade
  16. Thanks! ravenborne the Atlanta henchman and his guys are about a 2hr drive from where I'm at now, so there's that!
  17. This thread can be closed. I no longer live in Texas.
  18. Player Name: Bladebaka Location: Just moved to Central/Clemson, SC. Please update my row on the list
  19. Oh, yeah... I've been meaning to MacGyver up a lightbox to get better pics... Maybe after my paycheck clears I'll get some el cheapo materials to do just that! As for the bases, well, I was inspired by... I think it was a combination of Acefisher1's bases and the "old west" style mines you see in movies and old pictures. Thanks! --Blade
  20. Hey all, Bladebaka here. I figure its high time that I post up my Minis on the forum dedicated to them, so without further ado, here they are! M&SU: UNPAINTED: Steamborg: Ramos: Brass Arachnid: Spider Swarm #1: Spider Swarm #2: PAINTED: Heeeeeere's RAMOS!: And his Totem: Steamborg: First Scarab Swarm: Second Scarab Swarm: ------------------------------------------ And that's my Ramos Crew so far, except for the Mobile Toolkit that I'll get to after I paint my Rasputina Crew. Comments and Criticism are greatly appreciated, especially since I plan on repainting at least Ramos and the Steamborg soon! <3 --Blade
  21. I have the 1st book already (got it from The War Store last summer when I bought my Ramos crew) but back then I didn't realize that there were 3 of them, so I thought I was set , heheh. Once I get my dang car fixed (Yet again!) I'll look into getting the mini, and eventually the rest of 'em. Do I need Puppet Wars at all for a regular game? I have the PDF, but I'm a cantankerous old geezer and prefer the nice texture of a hard copy in my greasy mitts
  22. Thanks! Would you recommend that I get all the books, or just the mini for now?
  23. Thanks for the shout-out, guys! I really appreciate it. Hopefully on Payday I'll be able to purchase the Mini Rulebook as apparently there're... 3 now? And I only have the first one apparently Anyways, thanks again! --Blade
  24. Hey all, Bladebaka here. Just wanting to know if anyone was in the Johnson Space Center area of Houston that played Malifaux. I've been struggling to teach myself, but I definitely am a Kinesthetic learner and need to do the stuff in order to learn easier. Also, its kind of boring just sitting at the game shop playing EDH/Commander, or watching some poor bloke get his head beaten in by a solid pewter dreadnought... or get sucked in to all the fantastic computer games that cost me lots more moneys. TL;DR - Anyone near South Houston TX? I wanna play D: --Blade
