Basically Adran is correct, when you replace models that haven't activated yet they still have 0 ap as ap are allocated when the model activates. So if one Viktoria takes an (all) manifest action the avatar comes into play with 0 ap as one Viktoria has used all her ap and the other doesn't have any yet. Better to use all the first Viktoria's actions on getting into position and then manifest with the second. Also, 3ss in the pool is nowhere near enough for the Viktorias. I never run with less than 6.

Nerd, i had not though to use him like you do, but next game i will give it a try. I generally take him when i want something to sit on an objective and not die. Defense 8 in defensive stance doesn't go anywhere in a hurry. Although while writing that it did occur that Ronin can do the same thing for half the cost while being hard to kill and harmless...

A friend of mine plays Seamus, and I had him down to one wound (gorram HTK). Seamus activated before I could finish him off and made a healing flip.... you guessed it, Red Joker. All my hard work wasted, was not impressed!

Viks & Ronin would be my recommendation, and Taelor is always worth a look. Although maybe Desperate Mercs are worth a look also, a steal at 2ss and would leave space for a totem, and Killjoy has good potential with Freikorp, he can pop out as a Slow To Die reaction. Freikorps are good enough at shooting that Gunslinger & Hans aren't really necessary imho.

I would say you played it right and the wording of the trigger selects the target for you instead of flipping for it.

I tend to use Ronin, even at 6ss they're ridiculously good, and Granny can marry them into the family. Fransicso has done pretty well for me as well. Having said that I don't actually own Witchlings yet (Sonia is probably my next box set purchase) but they seem pretty good on paper and at 4ss you cant go far wrong.
