  5. Immune to Influence /Legion Games Malifaux Achievement League 2014 Welcome to the Immune to Influence/ Legion Games Achievement League 2014. This league is designed with new and returning players in mind. The achievements are geared towards playing and learning Malifaux whether you have never played a game of Malifaux or just never a game of M2E (Malifaux 2nd Edition). There will be a nominal entry fee and prizes will be determined based on participation. We will be using story encounter strategies as we, here at Immune to Influence, swear by them. Trust us this will be a blast! -The League will run from July 2 through August 13, 2014. - Entry Fee will be $10 per player paid to Legion Games, fees will to prize support in the form of store credit to Legion Games. Amount and number of prizes awarded will be based on the number of league participants. -The goal is for everyone to have a unique master within the league. However, if someone else is already playing the master you would like we will not turn you away. You can sign up with your master by emailing immune2influence@gmail.com or by posting on the “Legion Games MN Achievement League” thread on the Wyrd Forums. -Strategies will be generated using the Story Encounter Strategies form the M2E rulebook. Schemes may be selected from the entire pool or with a limited Scheme pool. The achievements will reward both. -There is no limit to the number or soulstone size of games you may play per week, but they must be against a fellow league participant and played at Legion Games. Certain achievements will benefit playing a multitude of opponents and some will benefit playing against the same opponent multiple times. -You will get your league results tracker sheet when you pay your entry fee and the sheets will be placed in the bin at the front of the store for periodic collection and point tallying. - The hosts of the Immune to Influence Podcast are playing in the league; but, as the event hosts, will be ineligible for prizes. Legion Games is located on Hwy 13 in Burnsville, MN in the Twin Cities south metro. http://legiongames.com/ We play Wednesday and Sunday regularly but feel free to schedule games here! 6. Episode 4 is now up on the site, part 2 of the wave 2 master impressions. It's a doozy for us, about 1:48 long. Lots of excitement for all the new goodness from your hosts, some thoughts and what is likely to be greatly inaccurate analysis. Episode 5 coming soon along with RSS feed and iTunes!
  7. I'll contribute another rule set we'd have talked about as a cast topic. Flames of War Can I afford it? The cost is steep for entry but the options a virtually limitless. This is a byproduct of such an expansive historical rule set. The more recent battlefront minis are fantastic, but pricey. However, it's a historical minis game and that means a large range of manufacturers making 15mm models in every imaginable medium to varying quality and cost. If you just want the models and don't care how they look you can get in for a low cost with limited options. If you want good models with list flexibility and want them to look good you will spend a lot time and money. My upkeep cost is now self sustaining for FoW. At any one time I have 3 armies, 2 finished and one I am working on. I sell and build new list one or two times a year. I have spent out of pocket, since 2006, under $750 out of pocket on models and turned through 7 armies. Do I like the minis? Absolutely, more so the scale than anything else there is no better looking major minis game out there when you get down to table level on a fully kitted board with painted armies than FoW. Is the game fun? The rules are complex but the core mechanics are easy to learn. You can start playing quickly and the rulebook is well laid out to reference any rule quandaries. Also battlefront has a program that only requires you to buy a rulebook every other edition. Do other people play? Yes, this rule set appeals to both historical gamers and to general minis gamers because the rules are not hard and fast historical simulation. There are a lot of players I the area. There's not a thriving compatible scene in my state, but our neighbor to the east does have a very vibrant competitive play scene if I fell like getting away for a weekend.
  8. More shameless plugging. http://www.immunetoinfluence.com
  9. Episode 2 has gone live! We may have recorded this in January... Everything you wanted to know about the new plastic kits. We discuss linked story encounters, Wild West Exodus, and Steve drinks the whole bottle of wine. Bonus points if you can figure out the exact moment where it overwhelms his liver - it's harder than you might think. Happy listening! Like us on Facebook and follow us on twitter @im2inpodcast.
  10. Another Malifaux Podcast you say? Check out our introduction and learn about your three intrepid and bearded hosts from the frozen realm of December, I mean Minnesota. It’s a shorter format, under an hour usually, and focuses more on the Hobby than competitive play. You can expect plenty of painting and terrain building talk in the future, along with analysis of our favorite game format: Linked Story Encounters. We have a lot of fun with this and hope you’ll join us. Episode 2 coming very soon. You can find the show at www.immunetoinfluence.com If you like what you hear follow us on Facebook and Twitter @im2inpodcast.
  11. Twin Cities, MN south metro http://legiongames.com/ Burnsville. We play Wednesday 6pm-10pm, Sunday noon-6
  12. Will we see upgrade cards for wave 1 masters in the wave 2 play test, or with the arsenal deck release in January?
  13. There's no reason you could't use the iron zombies with Molly for 1.5, you just need to make a few extrapolations to get the m2e cards to function for 1.5 rules. Obviously this would not be legal for organized play, but I personally don't do much of that so take this as you will. First the characteristics, ignore enforcer and henchmen on the two relevant iron zombies and consider them minions. Next convert the ml on their attack action to cb, apply triggers. Third, apply the necessary rules rollbacks to the abilities on the front of the cards. The terrifying abilities just become terrifying->12 and treat hard to wound and armor as they were in 1.5. All other actions should work just as they would have in 1.5. Finally comes the trickiest part, SS cost. All 4 iron zombies seem a little over costed for 1.5, maybe they're not, some play testing would be needed. Or you can work out a lower ss cost based on the assumption that m2e will be played competitively at 50 SS. Let's assume that 50 SS in m2e is equivalent to 35 SS in 1.5. That means models would be roughly 43% cheaper in 1.5. Lets round everything up to the nearest whole number Meaning the 7ss minions would be 5, the 8 would be 6 and the 10 would be 7. This is how I would handle it for friendly or story games. The encounters in the booklet should be fully functional for 1.5 however as the iron zombies do not actually flip.
  14. All this cheesecake talk is making me hungry for , well, cheesecake. With raspberry syrup maybe.
  15. A dozen body parts should be all you need. I've had as many as 10 corpse counters on the table at one time, but I would say 7 to 8 is the most you would really need.
