  10. The mobile painting station has been getting a lot of work lately. I've been using it to work on minis over most of my lunch breaks, so I thought I'd show off the multiple concurrent projects I have. First up, is a sale project. I bought the Island of Blood box a while ago to paint up for sale on ebay. I am close to finishing the Sword Master of Hoeth squad: As you can see, I still have a bit left to do. I am really proud of how the banner turned out. I also run a Pathfinder game for my gaming group. In our last session the party was ambushed by some griffon riders. Due to the amazing quick thinking of the party's Erudite, they captured the 2 griffons and the Crusader has tamed them. Because of that, I've started working on the griffon I got from Bones 1: I'm also working on the Bones paladin with the flaming sword. He represents the character I was playing in our 1-off 13th Age adventure. I wanted to do a saffron orange, but my color is a bit off. Also, my camera apparently HATES orange as it is not that red, nor that badly blended in real life. Finally, I'm working on painting up parts of the translucent green ghost wall: I'm using the brand new bone color triad from the new paint set from Bones 1. I'm not sure if I'm happy with the way the skeletons look. Something seems off and I can't tell what it is.

  13. After a little longer wait than I intended, the Gear Slave has been completed and is ready for preorder purchase. Hoping to lead a normal life again, he participated in an experiment that aimed to give him mental control over his prosthetics. The Autonimus was the result of the project, and was thought to be a success, but he began to fall into fits of mania and rage until all the humanity was burned out of him, turning him into a strong and ferocious monster. The Gear Slave was sculpted by Ian Mountain, who did an excellent job translating my designs. It is in 28mm scale and the kit contains 3 parts: body, left arm, and base. All the parts will be cast in white metal. I admit that I forgot to specify base in the original sculpting order. I sculpted a scrap yard inspired 25mm round base that will also be cast in white metal. He is currently available for preorder at Stone Tower Miniatures for $15. This preorder run is limited to 200 castings and includes the miniature kit and a numbered 4” x 6” miniature copy of the concept artwork. The miniature will still be available for sale after the preorder period ends, but the concept artwork will not. Please visit the website to see more pictures of the Gear Slave. On a related note, WAMP just published a review of the Squire and has awarded it a silver medal. Check out the review to see what they had to say, the stop by the store to pick up your own copy!
  14. Over the weekend I received photos from Ian Mountain, the sculptor who just finished the Gear Slave. Here's a peek at the figure: Full view photos will be available after I receive the piece and then I'll be sending it off for casting. He's 28mm scale, which makes him a perfect substitute as a wargaming mini. Casts will be in white metal. Full details will be available closer to release.
  15. I am proud to announce the premier miniature for my company Stone Tower Miniatures: The Squire, which is available for presale through our The Squire was sculpted in 1/35th scale (54mm) by Chris Clayton and portrays the scene of a young man wielding his master’s blade, a sword that is almost too heavy for him to lift, to defend himself in battle. He stands 42mm tall and is a multi part kit: body, arms and sword, dagger, torch, and base. The figure will be cast in white metal while the base will be done in resin. My name is Randy Shea, CreganTur on a few different miniature forums, and my goal for Stone Tower Miniatures is to create unique and high quality miniatures that can be enjoyed by collectors and utilized by gamers. By partnering with very talented sculptors I want to bring to life miniatures that are easy to assemble, fun to paint, and unlike anything else out there. This exciting first release is just the beginning as I am already designing characters for my next project which will be a series of 32mm miniatures set in a dark steampunk world. The company website is currently being built and will be up before the end of the , which, currently, is the only way to order this miniature and there will be no shipping charge. I'm using Kickstarter as the presale site while the company's website is being completed since it's an easy way to handle and organize the presale. It's also a way for anyone who would like to support this company's startup to get involved. Thanks very much for reading this and I look forward to bringing you more exciting releases in the future!
