  1. Read PullMyFinger: -2 to Willpower when this model is shopping online.
  2. I need help! I need to stop reading the wiki! Every single time I do I encounter something where I go "oooh, that's cool!" and have to physically stop myself immediately ordering it online! If I let myself, I think I'd have just about everything going and a huge bank overdraft! As it is, I have a list of intended purchases as long as my arm which will take me to next year to buy and purchase! And that's not even counting my Infinity and Reaper addiction! Help!
  3. Thanks, and feel free! I'm terribly colourblind, so the idea of someone actually pinching a paint scheme is amazing for me! But the Malifaux odyssey continues! I attended the Malifaux tournament in Glasgow yesterday, to watch and play a friendly and I really enjoyed it (thanks to Grumhelden for organising). Naturally, within a few hours more figures were ordered to round out this lot that are currently under construction:
  4. Finally finished Zoraida and her crew, bar a few finishing touches: Here's some extra shots of the lovely lady herself! Had a lot of fun painting these figures, so I think I'll just power on and start Colette's crew!
  5. Sure! The paints were all Vallejo Model Colour except for my trusty GW wash: Basecoat - Beige Brown Wash - Devlan Mud 1st highlight - Beige Brown + German Camo Beige 2nd Highlight - German Camo Beige Final highlights - German Camo Beige + white Then some thinned German Camo Black Brown in the shadows to deepen for contrast.
  6. Thanks, folks! Bad Juju is currently on the paint block, so he should be appearing soon!
  7. After a bit of a diversion into Infinity I'm finally back on track painting some Malifaux. I've not done any more with the Rezzers because the Zoraida box arrived through the post, along with a couple of extras, and I simply had to start them! So here are the Silurids, Voodoo Doll and Stitched Together. Bases are still to be finished! Comments and critique welcome!
  8. My figures are generally for playing and I'm certainly not one of the best painters, so I think I'll just stick to basing before painting. Thanks for the input!
  9. I'm on a quest to make my bases better and one of my next crews is Zoraida. I really want to try out some water effects and I've found a couple of good examples of how to do it, but I was wondering if most folks base the figure and paint the whole lot or do you paint them separately and attach to the base afterwards. I'm just concerned about the risk involved in clipping the tab and drilling holes after the figure is finished.
  10. Yeah, I'll add some blood to his saw. Give it the 'freshly used' look! And thanks for the feedback, so far! Here's a pic of the Flesh Construct that I actually painted last year. Not quite as good as Seb and again, the base could do with some detail added!
  11. I have another thread covering my Guild crew, but my painting is rather haphazard these days and I tend to just paint the figures that take my fancy, so I thought I'd start a second thread and just lump all my painting into it. I've taken an oath on my blog not to start anything new until I've painted everything that I plan to game with this year and that includes the McMourning, Colette and Zoraida starter sets, so you can expect to see these appear over the next couple of months. I've also decided to try and make my bases a bit more interesting after someone pointed out that my Guild ones are a bit plain, which was a fair criticism. So to start with, here's Sebastian. Let me know what you think! A couple more clickable images are over on the blog - http://colourofwar.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/malifaux-sebastian-morgue-assistant.html
  12. Having just viewed your paint log, this is high praise indeed! Thanks!
  13. Here's another photo of Perdita with her family backing her up!
  14. Yes, the bases weren't finished when I took those photos. They were just gritted, but not painted. Thanks for the comments and feedback, though!
  15. Wow! Has it really been that long since I was updating this? Well, the last year wasn't a stellar one for painting, but I did get my Guild crew finished and I even managed to get a game! So, here's the rest of them for completeness! Papa Loco: Nino Ortega: Perdita: Guild Guard:
  16. In the picture of the outhouse the edge mural really looks like a skyline in the distance. I can see how that would work looking at the terrain from close to the board. And with as nicely painted figures and terrain as you have I would probably spend some time doing just that!
  17. Thanks a lot, guys! I wanted a bit more of a 'Mexican' look to Santiago, so I thought that black trousers with some white detail would get that effect. The design on the the trousers is based on a pair of trousers worn in A Fistful of Dollars. I've found myself watching more cowboy films since starting painting this crew, which is no bad thing! I'd forgotten how good Tombstone is!
  18. Here's Santiago! I finished him last night, although I was a bit too heavy handed with the matt varnish! I think I got away with it, though! As before, the clickable images are on the blog - Colour of War
  19. Thanks, folks! I also just realised that was my first post on these boards, where I thought I'd already posted! :s So, I'll introduce myself! I was a Warhammer player in what seems like another life and when I got back to gaming after a hiatus of about ten years it was, and still is, mostly historical. Malifaux really strikes a chord with me, though, and could signal a return to more fantasy games in the future, but for now I'll just enjoy painting these figures up (which are what really caught my eye in the first place).
  20. Finished my first Malifaux figure tonight and thought I'd start a thread here with my Guild crew as I build it. I started with Francisco and I have Santiago primed and ready to go! Thought I'd go through the rest of the Ortega's before I hit Perdita, so I'm as sharp as I can be for the Master...I think she deserves it! Hope you like it and I'd welcome any feedback from you all...! There's another couple of pictures on my blog - Colour of War - which are clickable.
