  1. Cool, so I picked up Som'er's box, then some more Bayou Gremlins, Slop Haulers, a Hog Whisperer, some Piglets and a War Pig. And then I saw the picture in the book of the Whiskey Golem. So cool looking! But it turns out that awesome picture is only replicated in the Nightmare Edition of the model, so I of course HAD to spend way too much money on that. Suggestions for where to expand next?
  2. Thanks folks. I think I prefer old metal Zoraida as well, and as you've said it looks like there's no single of the new plastic sculpt available (SKU bloat being a thing and all), but luckily I like the old metal sculpt (the same cannot be said of ANY of the Gremlins--I wouldn't have chosen this faction without the new sculpts). One of my FLGS's has a large stock of the old metal, so I'll go and search to see if they have Zoraida. In the meantime--if I buy all plastic Gremlins, do I need to purchase the Arsenal decks? I'm really confused as to what those are.
  3. Cool, thanks for the advice. Looks like I should pass up that box and just buy Zoraida by herself.
  4. Another quick question--my FLGS has the Zoraida box set but nothing else for Gremlins. Will that box do me good, or is it only Zoraida that can be taken in Gremlins?
  5. Awesome! Thanks for the clear advice.
  6. Hey folks, I'm coming back to Malifaux after about 4 years away (I can't believe it's been that long!), and the new Gremlin sculpts hooked me (previously I played the Guild). I just ordered the Ophelia box and I have no clue what the best way to expand the faction is. Should I buy the Som'er box? Some blisters? I know it is likely the case that I could expand in several directions, so any general or specific advice would be great! Thanks.
  7. I'm interested in everything except the Ophelia box, so if you want to let that go to Yourgitfacedcousin (good name m8) I'd be happy to pick up the rest! I'll give you $40 for the Som'er box and the Slop Haulers. That's a lower discount than you're giving on the whole thing, and you have another buyer right here for the the Ophelia box. That should net you more than the $60 you were originally asking for.
  8. That's all folks! Everything's been sold as of today. Thanks for looking.
  9. Someone bought the Witchlings and the Gov's Proxy. There's been interest in the Peacekeeper and the whole package, but no confirmations of those two yet.
  10. The books sold! And I've discounted the whole package further. If you buy all the models, it'll only cost you $100. This is a ridiculous price, folks. Nab it while you can!
  11. Hey there, I've got a BUNCH of Guild and a little bit of Resurrectionists. Unless otherwise noted, they are all assembled and cleaned of flash and mold lines. The completion of painting or not will be noted. I tried to put pictures in, but they were too large. Ask if you're interested in pics of stuff. Or search me on the forums, most of this stuff is probably in old painting threads. All of the Guild models come with their laminated card, so you're ready to go. The Resurrectionist cards are not laminated--they are still in their original packaging. I also have fire templates that will go with the Sonnia crew. I also have a Fate Deck in high quality plastic sleeves and in a deck box, that I'll kick in for free if you purchase $50 worth of models or books. The books are all in VG+ to Like New condition. All prices have shipping included. Models -Sonnia Criid -3x Witchling Stalkers -Samael Hopkins -Purifying Flame These are well-painted, tabletop +, $30 Sold 3x Witchling Stalkers -Lady Justice -3x Death Marshals -Judge -Scales of Justice Assembled. The Death Marshals are painted tabletop +, and the Judge has a coat of paint on him. $38 SOLD -Governor's Proxy - $2[/b] -Student of Conflict - $2 -Austringer 1 & 2 - $15 -Executioner (painted, tabletop +) $15 -Peacekeeper (not assembled, mold lines partially cleaned) - $15 -Perdita -Nino -Santiago -Papa Loco -Abuela -Francisco -Enslaved Nephilim Nino's painted tabletop+, but everyone else is just assembled. $40 Seamus Box Set 2x Nurses NIB, $33 SOLD: Books Malifaux: A Character-Driven Skirmish Game - $40 (OOP) Malifaux: Rising Powers - $22 Malifaux: Rules Manual - $8 If you want the models as a package, I've just discounted them further: $90 for the whole thing. Add up what all that's worth, and you'll see it's quite a ridiculous deal.
  12. Thanks, I'll check it out. I listen to the Gamer's Lounge occasionally, but their style kinda grates on me so I really only seek 'em out when they're talking about something I'm excited about.
  13. I liked Part Deux a lot! It was more the review than part 1.
  14. Are there any reviews out there for PW? I can't seem to find any, not even among Board Game Geek or the podcast-o-sphere. Show 'em if you got 'em.
  15. Thanks pixelgeek & zafar. That's super-helpful, and I'm sure this thread will be linked back to when people re-ask the question in the future.
  16. Not pointless a'tall. It just means she can't strike through a wall or whatever--and fiction-wise, would you expect her to? It does mean that she doesn't need LoS to declare a Charge, which means she can Charge around walls, or through forests, or whatever--as long as she can see (ha!) them when she's about to hit them. It means she has a 10" threat range on a Charge, no matter where her opponents are, as long as she can get LoS after the Charge--which is almost always, in my experience.
  17. The only problem with her box is that it only comes to 19ss. Lady J has a cache of 4, and you can only take 8 in a scrap, so you can essentially only play a 23ss game or less. 25ss is the most common "low point" game, though. Get the box and an Austringer, and you're all set.
  18. ah yeah, that makes sense. The basic rule is that when something is triggered, you go through its whole ability/effect and then go back to what you were doing before*. So EC goes through its Unstable fully, kills EX, then you go back to the EX, but he's gone. *Right? I seem to remember this from somewhere.
  19. That does sound correct. Page 44 of the Rules Manual states "A model reduced to 0 Wd will be removed from the game as killed unless an effect that could prevent the Wd or heal the model to 1 or more Wd is applied." However, I'm not entirely sure. This is a nitty-gritty case of "which things happen at which time?" Both models get reduced to 0 Wd, but does the model that got reduced first leave play first, or do they both leave play at the same time? I know there's something in the book about in which order effects happen, but I can't find it.
  20. This. Except it's a board game. I think a good Malifaux board game could go a long way: all of us would buy it, and a lot of non-minis gamers would, too, if it were any good. Heck, Wyrd could even license it out to FFG or something. I'd kind of like to see an RPG, as well, but it would have to be done carefully (to please me, anyway ;P). It couldn't be "kill stuff, get experience, level up". (look at Indie RPGs, Wyrd).
  21. That game would take waaaay too long to play. Malifaux works at the scale it does because each model is super-complex. When you bump up the model count that high, it'd become overly complex and kinda exhausting (I think). However, if Wyrd someday released some rules that covered the above scenario, and changed how models work in said scenario such that it was faster (like PP did with their Unbound rules), that could be cool. I'd just be sad if I went to the FLGS and that level was all that people played. When you keep the core game small, you keep it beginner friendly.
  22. OP: Sure, that makes sense, sorta. I love the wording of the ability, though, and wouldn't want a change. Imagining Perdita or Zoraida yelling OBEY! is just so awesome. So dominant. Command loses that connotation. Maybe Command works better for Perdita, and Obey better for Zoraida, but obviously it's a bad idea to have two identical abilities with different names.
