  1. I really don't understand why they aren't getting more backers. Some of this stuff is perfect for other games. It really is nice stuff - just surprised to see other terrain KS's make way more than this for just STL files often.
  2. So I got my set from the previous KS - just over a week or so to ship from Poland to the West Coast and that was with two FedEx delays. I really like them overall. I'm not going to add a ton of photos as they have better ones on the KS pages. First off, they look great. There is a slight texture to one side of the print (the outside of the buildings typically). They come like most MDF terrain as cut-outs on a sheet. It is thick enough to give substance, but still pretty thin. That was my one complaint about the paper stuff from Battle Systems - they were so light it's very easy to accidentally move them during play. These don't seem to have that problem as they are heavier. The edges of the cutout pieces are also a dark brown so you don't have a do a ton of edging to darken them up (looking at you again Battle Systems). You have to be careful punching them out as you can accidentally tear the 'print' off the edges if you're too rough (same as Battle Systems stuff if you're familiar). Even if you do a little you just need a sharpie to touch up and you can't even notice it. I tended to wait until I was finished building and then going over looking for any spots. I'm debating doing a dull coat to see if that helps avoid the issue over time with handling, etc. Not sure it's really a problem once assembled though. Time will tell. The pieces are great and they aren't lying when they say you don't need glue - you really don't. I put a tower together first and that took all of 5ish minutes (being extra careful). It's a nice size and came with two nice ladders (never enough ladders). I think it'll be a great addition to any table. The next house I put together I was a bit too tired and second guessed myself on needing glue to really firm up the building, so I made some silly mistakes (rough side goes on the outside). The instructions are OK. They have pics of each tile with the piece numbers on them and make it easy to find pieces. I do wish they made it more clear which side of the terrain was facing which way on the instructions, but you can mostly figure it out on your own. Again - you don't need glue. It just caused me issues and didn't help at all. Once it's all assembled, if you really feel the need you can place a drop or two in corners/edges, but I stopped doing even that after my first building. Over time, if they loosen up, I might go back. They are overall pretty easy to put together. I managed all three buildings and one tower in one evening. With my more technical stuff from Warcradle Scenics (which I love!), I can spend a whole night on one building, and often need more than one evening. It was a nice change to have such an easy time building and not end the night with my clumsy fingers covered in super glue. The real design coolness come with the little details like the doors. Each door comes with a little screw and nut and then there is a place on the wall to insert a small magnet (all included). This way the door stays shut when moving it around, but it's easy to open as needed. Some of the other kits have these features with their portcullis (see video preview on KS). These are really nice little touches that probably took time to design, but can really add to the usefulness - especially for RPGs. From the original KS I ordered the Ruined Village (available on their current KS too). It comes with three ruined buildings and I added on two ruined towers. This give a good amount of terrain for Malifaux once you add in some scatter. Scale on these is pretty good. The one L-shaped building is a lot bigger than I anticipated. It's much bigger than I usually like, however it is very easy to access the interior so it might work. The bigger issue is I wish they had put a second door on the other side. That limits play in my mind (unless you call all windows entry points). Still the interior looks great! The doors are the only thing that seem hugely out of scale - they are wide and tall (sorry, forgot to get a comparison pic with figures). While the size makes them useful for moving through (I think a 40mm base can fit), it looks a bit out of scale next to a standard model. After reorganizing my terrain bins and realizing I have way too much (and I'm still assembling my Warcradle Studios Augusta stuff for a railroad table), I'm limiting myself on this KS. I do want their intact Village to go with this set and I really like their slum set. Would like to get some wagon add-ons as well as they look pretty good too. Very happy overall with their stuff. I think it's a great way to make terrain that looks great and is easy to assemble. I hope they put out more stuff in the future.
  3. I backed their last KS and am currently waiting on the post to arrive. They seem like a good company and were able to keep to their timeline. Still, it is KS, so do your due diligence before bidding. These look like great little terrain sets. They are offering their ruined village set from the last KS as well new intact villages. I'm backing for 2 sets myself. They seem different as it's images printed on HDF, not paper. Their last KS indicated they use a special printing process that also gives them a slight texture. As soon as I get me first set of ruined terrain I'll post some pics and review. they should be easy to assemble as you don't have to use glue. Just thought others might be interested if you missed the last one. It is a very short KS though - just 14 days. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/e-raptor/fantasy-village-wargaming-terrain?ref=discovery&term=fantasy village terrain There's a good preview video:
  4. I was disappointed more Reserrs weren't included. It seems that people find the Resser faction to be very scary and good even though we don't really dominate scenes from what I read/hear. A lot of our models are in pretty good places, but it would have been nice to see a few more get touched up a bit. I don't think the poison thing is nearly that bad. You can still Desperate Plot models that have an upgrade and use them to bomb enemies with the Ram trigger and get into position. There are also so many other ways to give out Poison. I'm fond of the Curator putting down markers and sitting in one to help juice up. I do feel you on the card draw, but in Ressers Insanitary has probably one of the best ways with RRR. Or Transmortis if you really want more possibilities.
  5. I could see that - she could use a little help. I kind of like her with McMourning as Flesh Constructs are Zombie so can be Re-Animated. Same with Seamus2 who tends to run more keyword and has a lot of Zombies. It's not earth shattering though and I really wish she was a point less. Her Decay would be a lot better with the Crow built in too.
  6. He still brings Poison Terrain Markers which can help stack poison. Dredge Up might still have some potential use. Still useful as another 'Corpse' marker too. Definitely not an always take now. And re-apply as needed. I've never seen much need to use Desperate Plot on Gasser or other little thing. Almost always better to use something else instead if I'm at that point, but maybe. Still wish there was a reason to take a Guild Autopsy...
  7. Surprised no one has started one yet, so I will. What are people's feelings on the changes to McMourning Insanitary? The Plastic Surgery change was needed to stop some crazy cheese and obviously unintended issues, but they still left it open for McM himself. So still SS for Pounces with a stapled on Rn attack. TN up one probably fine too. I'm not sure how I feel about the changes to Desperate Plot. Appendage upgrades being dropped before adding one means no more Mv7, Df5, Flurry, Charge Through Rogue Necros. Deep down I know that is probably best for the health of the game, but it sure was fun while it lasted. Not everyone liked to stack upgrades, but I often had two on my big models to really trick them out, so it will require some changes for me. I love having the Ram built in as a just in case. It's only a Mv12 duel, but if your facing a bubble crew you can threaten with a lot of simple duels and still pulse out poison. Kind of surprised RRR wasn't touched as I know a lot of people find that ability gross. Without it though, he'd have a hard time. The only thing I really find obnoxious is the Canine Remains interaction, but I feel that would be better fixed with a change to them anyway. How are others feeling? We didn't really get much this time around. No Rafkin, Guild Autopsies, or Mourners - all need help. Maybe next time.
  8. They look great, but I have no 3d printer... Speaking of, I really wish Kickstarter had a dedicated 3d print area as a LOT of the terrain type ones are just for STL files.
  9. The Dunsmouth set is for Mythos, which is a 32mm scale game. So the buildings work very well for Malifaux (maybe a bit too big to be honest). Some of their other sets appear to be closer to 28mm scale. The doors on the apartment buildings are about 2ish inches tall from the bottom (not including steps), so they look pretty good to me. Didn't have any painted minis at hand, but some plain ones are there for scale. A 30mm, 50mm, and 40mm model. edit - just realized I have Lazarous' 40mm base taped onto a 50mm base as I use him as a proxy sometimes. Still, it's a big model to give some sense of scale.
  10. The timing is Start of Activation for all of them, so they all generate at Step 1. But yes, I think they stack. It is a bit unclear and really wish they had made it just an Aura to make things easier. I suppose if they didn't want it to stack they could have used the 'one or more models with this ability' clause. So it's likely they mean it to stack. Just sucks to get into combat with 2 or more models with Penetrating Stench.
  11. The only counter argument I can think of is that you could say one card meets the requirements for all models with Penetrating Stench. But I'm not sure that works rules wise or what the intent of the ability was. Forcing 4 card discard (or gain Stunned), seems strong. Rare, but strong. If it was an Aura it would be easy to answer.
  12. I can check tonight when I get home. I think this set matches Malifaux the best.
  13. Well, we do have strat markers that have terrain features. But I agree I'm not sure forcing it is the right way to go.
  14. No problem. Figured I give me two cents since the sets address so nice. Be forewarned though that while I love the Warcradle stuff, they are more advanced to assemble. In no small part to the limited instructions. Dry fit first. The roofs on the gloomburg set are very tricky. The mat is Deep cut Studios https://www.deepcutstudio.com/product/wargames-terrain-mat-cobblestone-streets/
  15. Still not perfect, but maybe you could change the bottle out for a gun or knife? https://www.etsy.com/listing/1137409428/liam-the-drunkard-leprechaun-miniature?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=leprechaun+miniature&ref=sc_gallery-6-13&listing_id=1137409428&listing_slug=liam-the-drunkard-leprechaun-miniature&plkey=5c737805c71144fa0f7a49b4e3d65a41398f72be%3A1137409428
  16. Yeah - that's a rough model to find. I ended up buying the Puppet Wars box as I really wanted that model. It is a bit bigger than I like. Gadzooks Gaming will sometimes have one in stock, but it's typically $16+shipping. I managed to grab one a few months ago by luck. You just have to check the website every now and again to see if it's in stock. But otherwise, yeah, leprachauns or maybe a hobbit style model might work. Here are some I found that might work, but aren't great... https://www.miniaturemarket.com/rpr30003.html https://empiregamestore.co.uk/shop/balur-van-helding-hero-dwarf-fantasy-horror-rpg-miniature/ That was just a 15 minute search, so you might find better out there.
  17. Depends on the sculpt as other have said. Not always possible. I didn't love all the extra ghost things on the Goryo and didn't use them all, but it was a pain to get it to work. I don't mind a little bit, but I agree some are getting a bit too much. I'm not a good enough painter to make those big flatish spaces look good either
  18. Upcoming page has been updated and McM2 is tentatively scheduled for a MAR release.
  19. I would add that Animate Remains also says, "...If it would be removed this way, it instead suffers..." (emphasis mine). Nothing is removed as 'instead' it take 2 irreducible damage.
  20. Should have worded it "This model declares and resolves the chosen trigger....". I would think the intent is that unless you have a specific special ability (like Seamus) that spells it out, you can't get around those restrictions. But who knows 🤷‍♂️.
  21. I've got a Puppet Wars unstitched I'd let go of if anyone wants it. Missing the Seamus Puppet though... Still, if anyone wants it I'd let it go for pretty cheap. Make an offer.
  22. True, but I've had games with no good masks in hand, even with McM's extra card draw.
  23. Rogue getting it three times sounds super lucky. Could happen any game, but not often. Surprised you didn't use a Nurse for a couple more I do think Plastic Surgery should likely be 'Other'. Letting McM have access to just about any Action could lead to a lot of headaches down the road, not just now. The other, less appealing option, would be to change Plastic Surgery so you don't get Triggers too. Just the Action. Then some of these abuse cases would disappear while still leaving room for a wide variety of Actions to steal/use. Yes! They are awesome. RN actually has a chance to stay around a bit and Flurry feels like it should have been on his card all along. They help everything stay alive a bit longer. I never have much luck with Kentauroi, but at least with upgrades they don't die as quickly for me.
  24. Only if you haven't burned through your Shielded already Which your opponent should be trying to do it possible. But yes, they can handle a bit of burning before really worrying. They're just low wounds too. Reva2 helps a lot with that with the ping heals. I know you love the Dead Rider. I need to give him a better try. I don't think I gave him a fair go.
  25. Sure - but you're dropping all your Pyres in the same area? And it also gives them Burning which you need to account for by end of turn. If it stacks too high it can be a problem for them too. I guess some games you want to turtle and can keep your pyres all close together, but you still have to juggle the burning (which, to be fair, you have to do anyway to some extent).
