  1. Hands down, I'd have to agree with everyone who has already stated that Neverborn are a tough matchup. I primarily play Kirai, but have had success with all the Resser masters. My suggestions would include: 1. Fun list full of random models. With the largest pool of models to select from, you can make some zany crews that not only make things more interesting for you, but can also confuse your opponent. 2. Killjoy and or Jack daw automatically make things interesting for both sides. I've had a lot of success with both, and I've also had them cause me trouble, but fun all around. 3. against Collodi, I like Nicodem and a bunch of Punk Zombies because his blast damage and the punks abilities and resilience can lead to a lot of dead puppets. 4. GAKI are insatiable!!! Never underestimate the power of a bunch of low cost models in large group especially with a feeding frenzy trigger and a friendly kirai within 6"... Toss a couple corpse counters in and you have a recipe for invincible Gaki. 5. Crooked men in combination with Belles can be a nasty combo with the shafted markers and lure. Hope these help/ add some fun to your games. When you do get the chance, I highly suggest playing some neverborn to get experience. I've played almost every master in the game and I can tell you first hand that you learn so much about how to beat them by playing them. Also the biggest lesson I've learned about ressers is that sinking points into big models isn't always the best idea. given 20ss i'd rather take 4 punks rather than Kill joy and Jack daw... but that applies to playing against any faction IMHO

  3. I run the Hanged pretty regularly with Kirai. I usual include jack daw as well. I play with alot of agressive players who move up on me pretty fast so have jack in the fray makes whisper one of the easiest casts to get off. Just the other night I played against a guy who played colette. I removed the corphyee duet as a threat with back to back casts of whisper because it gave me a chance at 6 wds without the effects of bulletproof. I also love doing it on masters with Jack removing their ability to cheat or use soulstones. I'd have to say that using the hanged was originally my solution to a friend always running the executioner in his crew and just steamrolling my spirits with his slow to die action. so stopping him from healing to full every time he killed something evened the odds a lot.
  4. I tied for third in the wild card event with Wes. I played Ressers, Arcanists, Guild. I also know Wes won the friday story encounters

  6. So far I'm happy with what I've been able to do with her. I wasn't a huge fan of the loss of into spirit world at first, but she has a zero to push spirits up to 4" and another to move into bas with a friendly model within 8" that is in melee. when she does so , if she is also in melee range (2" range) she gets to take a free strike. She also gains fast if she activates in base with two spirits. so she can put a hurtin' on most models. I don't think she is quite strong enough to take on other master though, at least what i've played so far. she got killed against both normal lady J and avatar lady J. but she had Marcus running for the hills. I can't wait to play her more in my local shop. My one gripe is that since Kirai relies so heavily on summoning and wounding herself, I've been coming into avatar state heavily wounded which doesn't fair well for a Melee combat.
  7. Well seeing as gencon is now over.... I WAS there, got to pick up the dead justice box set, the new book, Avatar of Vengeance, some alternate sculpts and PUPPET WARS!!!! I also got to play some of the most exciting games of Malifaux I have yet to play against a lot of great people, AND met the awesome people at Wyrd who make the game we all love. such an AWESOME WEEKEND, looking forward to next year!!!!
  8. That is my Kirai actually. I chose to put her arms up... go against the standard and all. Plus my roommate at con put his arms the other way. I had lots of fun playing with her all weekend. And to get an avatar v avatar experience was great... since only a handful of us brought them into play. The model comes as a separate body of Kirai, with a her arm separate along with the ikiryo body, head and arms all separate. but I loved the model in general, easy assembly, and cool to paint.
  9. Arcanists, The Heroes of Malifaux!!!
