  1. All the details are either in the Rising Powers book or on the card with the miniature. Briefly, she has some nice spells; another Obey to cast and some crowd control type spells. She also has a difficult to get off heal for all Family models near by.
  2. Yeah same with regards to the colours. Did live there for a year 16 years or so ago though
  3. Your models look awesome as always Ratty. I was thinking of pale blue robes and lavender sash for my Kirai. btw what is the model that is standing just to Kirai's upper right in your group shot?

    Seamus

So after painting up my Guild and also a Viktorias Crew I have started on Seamus painted up in Irish colours. Feedback appreciated!
  5. I'd say that Kirai was closest to Japanese as all the names in the crew are Japanese (with her name being "Hate"). So black would be the appropriate colour for a funeral.
  6. This might be of some help: http://www.temarikai.com/meaningoftraditionalcolors.htm
  7. Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed reading them, I certainly had fun playing them :-) Csonti: not sure, that is just what I was told! It was only my 2nd game at the time... will have to find out what the ruling is on that.
  8. As Ratty pointed out, you are unlikely to get "Another One" off. Ronin are however pretty good models for the 5 points, so I'd be bringing some along any time I used the Viks.
  9. Recently played Malifaux at Cancon 2011 In Canberra Australia and wrote up my battles. Was a heap of fun and I would definitely do it again. I had only played a single game before the tournament but went fairly well! http://ironbartheory.com/content/9-Cancon-2011-Malifaux-Game-1.html http://ironbartheory.com/content/10-Cancon-2011-Malifaux-Game-2.html http://ironbartheory.com/content/12-Cancon-2011-Malifaux-Game-3.html http://ironbartheory.com/content/13-Cancon-2011-Malifaux-Game-4.html http://ironbartheory.com/content/16-Cancon-2011-Malifaux-Game-5.html http://ironbartheory.com/content/18-Cancon-2011-Malifaux-Game-6.html
  10. Thanks all for comments. I really enjoyed painting the Executioner!
  11. Still need to finish up the bases on these (am waiting on a base for Executioner). Haven't been brave enough to try putting hair on the Executioner just yet....
  12. Here is what I've got done so far this month. After the Ronin I focused on Guild stuff in order to get something together for a con this coming weekend.
  13. I have all the washes (I am using the GW paints) though I tend to use them somewhat early on, after the base colour goes down and then try to highlight up from there. Blending is the biggest issue that I have, so I may try putting some washes on at the end, but I've found that they make everything darker... I'm also not sure of any washes over flesh as the Ogryn Flesh wash is extremely red and makes everyone look sunburnt.
  14. You can thin paint down with water just fine. Supposedly you can use something like a matt/matte medium if you want to thin it down a lot and not break up the body of the paint but I've never used any mediums as yet (going to try them soon). For what vegel describes, I'd suggest trying some of the matte medium or a flow retardant unless you want to use the paint as a wash. I found this article really useful for a fairly new painter like myself. http://darkfuturegaming.blogspot.com/2011/01/mediums-and-other-paint-additives.html#more
  15. Not sure which of the Silurids I prefer... Planning on trying some cotton wool as a smoke effect on the base of the Electrical Creation. Will put up what I've done this month shortly.
  16. Just picked up Malifaux in December. Really liking the models though I have yet to get a game in (going to a con this weekend for likely my first game though). Here is what I painted up in December: Comments and advice appreciated. Other stuff from December coming up.
  17. My reading of Spellbreaker is that it will work on conduit, however you need to be targeting the voodoo doll with Spellbreaker (which seems fairly easy as there is no way to resist Spellbreaker) rather than the target of the conduit. I could be wrong though, haven't really played much Malifaux
