  1. Just as a clarification I've figured out a system for the 2 mature Turn 1, and the young readily available Turn 2 with enough counters to mature it if necessary. Lilith Nekima 2 Mercs 3 Tots Blood Shaman First activate the Nekima, take 4 wounds get a blood use +mask to casting ability. (1 counter total) Activate Shaman take 4 wounds get a counter. Use Inject blood to heal Nekima twice, using trigger to keep counter. (1,1) Activate Lilith kill a merc, drain blood get counter. With remaining actions move/earthquake everyone forward. When Merc dies Nekima/Shaman gets counter, whoever is closer. (1,1,2) Activate tot, Grow off of Lilith's counter, Mature off of Nekima's/Shaman's whoever has 2 kill Merc drain blood get counter. Try to keep the mercs lined up so if Shaman gets one off his ability Nekima gets the 2nd or vice versa. (1,2) Activate Tot, Grow/Mature off of able counters. Activate last Tot, use sprint or something if you want, keep close enough so it can use the 6" with counters. Turn 2 Activate Shaman, run over corpse counters left by Mercs for blood counters and grow Tot into Young. It leaves you with 1 blood counter, on the Shaman who with triggers can heal 2 wounds around or do some other fancy stuff. By draggin him along turn 2 with Carry he should be close enough to pick up extra counters as stuff dies. -Note, use the Merc healing flips on Shaman when they die.
  2. I've been rolling the ideas around, considering this and that. I've drafted up another idea taking your collective advice into consideration. Viks Von Schill -9 Librarian -7 Koprsmen x2 -8 Specialist -5 (Sorta iffy, was fantastic my first few games then everyone got scared of him) Ronin x2 -10 Trapper? -6 (Iffy, I don't know if I have poor deployment or everyone is afraid of a guy chilling too far up the board but he gets womped on good) Then with the remaining 5 I am considering 2 setups. Gunslinger Or Desperate Merc + Student of Conflict (I like the student just for the Fast Viks it's messy)
  3. Well as is, the games run at 35 SS which you use a 50 SS roster to choose from for each game. For my 50 I was thinking something kinda like: Viks Von Schill Korps Librarian Convict Gunslinger Ronin x3 Misaki Johan I would take more Friekorps, but be it personal luck or not. They perform very lackluster. The Librarian and Von Schill on the other hand always shine for me. Convict always seems to push more then his weight. The Ronin and Misaki are tests. I haven't really played them much and actually need to go purchase my own but seeing as the league idea is less competitive I wanna use it more as a testing ground. But of course I still wanna bring a strong list. Johan I've been a fan of for a while, he either causes severe headaches or gets some objectives. I planned on aiming for anywhere between 8-5 SS cache for matches. And was gonna pull from this list. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.
  4. Whoops, correct you're right. I didn't have the book directly in front of me and misquoted it. My apologies.
  5. Anyone look at her as a henchman with Colette? Since she gets the discount to M&SU things, Colette, Kaeris, a gunsmith or two, and some showgirls could make up an interesting list. It'd add some punch to an army that's lacking some hard hitting power. Not that you are forced into M&SU stuff taking Kaeris under Colette but 5 point gunsmiths I would say are pretty slick.
  6. First off Congrats, Second, I just bought her yesterday along with a Judge and the Purifying Flame. Gonna try her with Santiago also, I'll letcha know how it goes. At 35 SS it looks like Soniia Samael Santiago Judge 2 Stalker Totem -32 SS I know it's fairly close to what you've used but I'm sure in my testing I'll find more models I like for her.
  7. Really no one thought of this for Seamus eh? Judas Priest-The Ripper [ame] [/ame]
  8. Being part of said Parma area group, I play Rasputina, Von Schill/Viktorias, and Colette now.
  9. Hello all, Firstly, I apologize if this is somewhere else, I wanted to post this before I retired for the evening and didn't search very thoroughly. I recently picked up Von Schill's box set and a Bishop model to start a Freikorps crew. For 35 SS games the crew I originally drafted looked like this... Von Schill Specialist Freikorpsman (x2) Librarian Trapper Bishop The total is 36/39 available SS and leaves me with 3 SS for my pool throughout the game. Looking through the rulebooks and the miniature's stat cards I came to realize that the Freikorps can offer a solid mixture of ranged and melee capability when mingled with a non-Freikorps model to smooth those rough edges. I noticed the range damage was decent, not overpowering but not necessarily disappointing either, melee, is a little to be desired and that is why Bishop caught my eye, I think he is a solid melee oriented model both offensively and defensively and adaptable fighter is just a great ability to make him hit where it hurts the most. But, in the games I have played I feel models such as the trapper and librarian have been lacking. The librarian is nice for her furious casting and allowing a potential 3 healing flips to various models in the army because on average they only have 6 wounds. The trapper I deployed with From the Shadows and normally and both times found his damage output and repositioning just a mild irritant for a 6 SS model. After these games I was considering the following changes Dropping Bishop Adding Hans (I like his ranged support and his customizable ammo, the long range support is very nice) Dropping the Librarian (Although she is useful I found her lacking, even with counterspell and adding any suit I wish to her casting. For 7 SS I think they could be better spent on other models) Adding Johan (I keep hearing nice things about him, I looked over his entry in the book, he seemed solid but not the durable melee fighter I was looking to bring to the table such as Bishop. Maybe I missed something) I'd like input for what I've posted if you guys would. Whether you disagree or agree, or have any other model suggestions for whatever reasons. I started with a group of friends and things I normally see are Pandora + assorted shenanigans, with Lilu+Lilatu(sp?). Seamus with Belles and Bete and a proxied Molly. Eventually a Perdita, Lucius, Ophelia LaCroix. From my gaming store regulars I'd normally see Niccodem, Leveticus, and Dreamer from what I remember. I couldn't list their crews in accurate detail Any help would be greatly appreciated. -edit-Lastly, I noticed this should be posted elsewhere, due to my late night forum participation I missed something glaringly obvious if someone would be kind enough to move this... if possible
  10. Hello, I am a new player to Malifaux but a longtime participant in other miniature games and collectible card games such as Warhammer (40k and Fantasy) and Magic the Gathering to name the most popular, at least in my area. A friend and I was browsing our local store where we came across the Malifaux rulebook and immediately were intrigued by the art and style the game could allow. After reading through the book and getting a feel for the system we decided to give Malifaux a working chance. All in all we quickly fell in love with the game and are currently expanding crews and looking to organize new ones.
