  1. I LOVE the black blood shaman in that! wicked looking. One of the many models of Wyrd's I have no intention of using in a game, but every intention of owning for to paint. Awesome.
  2. he was talking about transposing herself with another of her crew, not transposing with herself (which wouldn't get her out of trouble even if she was legally allowed, so its certainly not what he was talking about lol)
  3. ...Now I need to find some food.... quickly!
  4. The mini you're going to use for LCB is probably my favorite mini on that entire site.
  5. magnetize the bases and line a shoebox or two with some metal. Makes some great cheap transports.
  6. wow you're mortimer looks absolutely amazing!
  7. I second what Tiny says. Some of the points you make don't make sense. Von Schill can still Use SS. And he may seem overpriced, but it can depend on the situation. Freikorpsmen are great for their price. And I'm not sure why you didn't mention the specialist. Specialist is a wonderful way of laying down some AE firepower. Plus the humor is great... The greatest thing about Malifaux is that it seems like every model can find its niche. Everything is situational. There are some games where you'll want the mobility of Von Schill or Viks, and there are other times when the strategy calls for more board control with Hamelin. That being said, I don't think there's anything wrong with trying to make a list that more or less feels like a swiss army knife. Useful for any situation. And to that end, I think Friekorps running under Viks (its what I run) is a perfect example. But I won't be naive and say that there aren't situations where another model would be better to have. My final point would be this: don't get caught up in one list. I don't think that's what Malifaux is about. Malifaux is about bringing the right models to the right fight.
  8. Get that chimera out and start painting liek nao!!!1!
  9. the freehand on the standard is superb. Great job!
  10. I love your style of highlighting. really brings out the model detail.
  11. looks like a good start. are each of those pieces 3" squares?
  12. What makes you say this? It doesnt seem to me like frieks limit your options much. Esp as you can hire Von Schill as a henchman with pretty much any other master, giving you many many more options to branch out
  13. I was thinking it looked more dutch myself Good job on the coding there Ratty. I did a similar project with warhammer a while back. Let me know if you need any help. I'd be happy to lend a hand.
  14. I've been planning on attending this, but somehow got the dates mixed up in my mind. My sister and bro-in-law are in town (from China!) and I'm going to be busy... And I had just bought a pair of Viks to grow my Freikcorps to the size I needed for the tourney... anyway, you guys usually play on Tues nights, right? how big a game do you usually play? 30-35ss?
  15. My wife and I just started to play recently as well. And, similar to what you did, kept the games simple to start. I will say though, no matter how simple you make the game to determine a winner, always always use around the recommended amount of terrain. The first game we played we used almost no terrain. I was thinking it would make the game easier. But terrain makes a HUGE difference. Much bigger than I thought. In any case, its good to see other couples picking this game up too. Its a lot of fun and once you start getting the turn/duel order down, it becomes a lot quicker to play. one other tip - download some of rattys tokens/cards for reference, and http://tabletopgeeks.com/malifaux-downloads/ under the 'Reference Sheets,' download/print the 'Malifaux Full Reference (Rising Powers)' sheet. It lists all the charts I continuously looked up in the book while learning the game. The other reference sheets there are very helpful to have as well.
