  1. or mad dog brachett charging with fast and hitting from 13 inches away with focus, dropping 4 damage blasts on your crew
  2. can't delete more than one crew without refreshing webpage on Microsoft edge
  3. yes , lucius absolutely needs more triggers on issue command and +1 stat to hidden sniper and maybe the ram built in , otherwise it hardly ever competes with issue command. Then I think that his crew need to lose some HP and make pitching a card a double negative flip so it still has counterplay by blasts or shockwaves, and isn't completely negated by focus or some other way to make it impossible to get to a straight flip. Because they are just too squishy and every model spends the first turn getting focus and it only takes one hard hit and they are done. Rip if they have any models that have a way to get + to hit outside of focus, your themed models are actually just paper weights at that point. or even let them pitch a card per - Flip so you are giving up resources to keep a model alive
  4. I'd hate to see what Leveticus would do to that crew after he killed the mature in a single turn and then proceeds to run through that crew killing 1-2 models a turn without losing anything
  5. this man gets it. it doesn't matter how good you are at dropping scheme markers if you're crew dies instantly
  6. well the thing is that several schemes revolve around the center, and most of the strats are killing so, people play brick crews and just march across the board to murder you. which is also why stuff like lucius is extra bad, because not only can he not kill those models, but he can't get to the places he needs to to scheme without giving up strategy points. In this edition pitching cards to put the enemy on a - to hit is bad. Like awful. The new focus is just too strong vs this defense mechanic. all it does is cause you to lose a card , and soon a model. They focus and then your model always dies in the same round because it has 5-6 hp, giving up a strat point. Lucius in keyword is just awful
  7. The thing is most people that I have met, that are power gamers like myself. Openly acknowledge when something is too strong. I don't even play the dreamer because of that. I played themed lucius usually and complain about it
  8. He would be fine if we had pools and strats based on scheme markers, but we don't . Even then he still isn't up to where he should be
  9. Nothing you said contradicts what I said, and I completely agree with you. That doesn't change the fact that he and his models are below the curve
  10. That's not what was explained to me. still better though. And a point cheaper. It's entirely possible you are right though
  11. the way the game is played in this GG1, agent 46 will absolutely die if he engages the enemy team, and he's likely only able to take out dirt cheap models
  12. I agree, agent 46 is just garbage for a 9ss scalpel. He does nothing of interest. I have no idea why you would pick him over a BBS+IR, which is the same price, but gives your entire crew +1 -2 focus and a mature nephilim+upgrade. He needs a ram built in and stat 7. if he goes in, he needs to be able to kill something, not just lightly tap it on the shoulder
  13. Hoffman Looks like a nightmare himself. Fast on Howard langston or joss seems unpleasant. You're crew looks like it's just gonna smash into that wall of ugly. I don't know how it'll play out per se', but I think whoever loses a big model first will just get bullied the rest of the game. candy is gonna for sure die and give up a evidence. If you can force joss into severe terrain, he's already kind of slow, as is hoffman. You might be able to buy more time to get stuff done than you otherwise would. make note of the models without unimpeded and maybe try to force that on top of keeping pandy's grasping aura up.
  14. Models that straight up need meaningful changes now - aversion, marcus, Lucius, angel eyes, bloodwretch, bultungin, corrupted hound, cyclops, lelu+lilitu. Dreamer, lyssa, maurice, pandora, poltergeist, razorspine rattler, sorrow, terror tot, teddy, thoon, tuco , waldgeist, Guild investigator, agent 46, alan reid
  15. I'm enjoying third edition, I will say I like it quite a bit less than second. the core rules are crisp and feel like a refinement. However they've spent 2 editions catering to casuals and people who are too lazy to play a single crew long enough to remember their abilities. I can't speak for other factions, but neverborn rules just feel overwhelmingly like they were rushed to push out some good models, and then dozens of just worthless ones or ones that are just too simple in concept like the dreamer
  16. I agree with pretty much everything you said there. They really tried to simplify things and get rid of problematic interactions and Everything to me just feels "lesser now". like it was designed by people that don't play these mechanics at all. Like pandora's auras not stacking. Lucius getting card advantage where a the game is entirely based on AP economy, having auras that matter for only scheme markers where most of the schemes are not marker based, which is why leap is almost entirely unbalanceable. Having a strange not quite functioning staggered sub theme. Euripides cyclops not having a book built in, but also being completely outshone by geryon for 1 more point. Dreamer not being able to throw slingshot chompy, but his only skill is shittting out a enormous army and pushing you off the table. This to me looks like a game based on a open beta to be quite honest. It shows . My review was just whatever random thoughts about those masters hit me before bed though. not much thought into it
  17. for leave your mark they are insane. outside of that , idk
  18. Having played around 10 or so games with lucius, I feel like he is a weaker keyword than zoraida. That's just probably the cold reality of it. There really is no reason to pick lucius over Z in my opinion outside of not paying a tax on his scheme marker related minions. Outside of a few schemes that rely on sche markers in the middle of the board, zoraida does everything he does better. She has better beaters, better scalpels, better tanks to hold down a spot, better obey, better defensive tech, better minions for most schemes and strats. She's literally littered in leap. Her models kill better. Any ook combo works better with her. The only thing he does better is maybe draw cards. Maybe. Hes got some neat things about him, but serene countenance and really any ability that gives a single - to hit I've come to the conclusion is pretty bad. There are so many things literally baked into the game that counter it. Focus not only counters it but you keep your + to damage. Zoraida just says "yeah, your not doing that again" and hits your off button. He's a solid C tier master that won't wow you, but I thoroughly enjoy him. I suspect eventually I will pick up zoraida to complement him
  19. I think community schemes for a set league or tournament would be amazing. maybe even a community errata. especially since wyrd seems shy to pull the trigger on anything
  20. Being a guy that digs into malifaux everyday while I'm off work, I see several names that consistently come up. I don't have any experience with them in third edition though. The names I see come up have pretty much been repeated in this post over and over. And that list is pretty much what kharnage just said. I see those names on this forum....pretty much every day. Although to be honest , I'm much more interested in who the F tier masters are. As nerfs feel twice as worse as buffs feel good, so unless you only butt heads against people who abuse strong models constantly to get good feels from winning table top games, it's not really as interesting from my point of view who is strong if they aren't far and away ruining the game.
  21. The printed modules are a big deal for me too. how many are there now?
  22. my wish, make cheap models worth something. give more incentive for thematic crews. Build the storyline. Hold more leagues.
  23. I immediately thought of hooded as well for hazardous because it's unavoidable , and its up every turn after turn one if you so choose, while the emissary has other things that make it good. Honestly it seems like aversions with terrorize might be the strongest way to the scariest of his models at bay
