  1. For the record, I'm not agreeing with MrKittens's rationale. I certainly believe that there are times for Focus/Channeling. On the other hand, I feel it only fair to point out that his point was not dependent on foreknowledge of upcoming cards. Rather it was about the consequences of each possible outcome. Even if the logic was faulty, and failed to take some factors into account, the overarching idea holds a certain validity showcased by the general consensus that Focus/Channeling on most normal attacks is a Bad Idea.
  2. Since it specifies normal placement rules and from the target model -as opposed to from each other- I believe you are correct.
  3. Very nice, especially 'Dita's hair.
  4. A matter of taste. I like drybrushing as a source of soft highlighting. I find most people follow the GW style of painting and dislike the stark, direct highlights, as I think they look silly.
  5. Not looking at a book, atm, and still waiting to play my 1st game, but isn't 25SS capped at 6 cache?
  6. For really tough pieces, I've often found the best way being to use a tiny bit of glue with accelerator as a tack, then go back and squeeze some glue down into the joint after the accelerator has evaporated. A bit of the best of both worlds.
  7. Don't worry. I'll let you paint some for me. You know, to keep you busy and your skills sharp and all.
  8. Don't watch Mad Men, but I think she was in a couple episodes of Firefly. That pic is actually linked to another post on these here boards about who should play whom in a theoretical live action movie.
  9. Here ya go: Wait, no... that's not it.... Try this one: Apparently, it's the inside cover of the Rules Manual.
  10. I use a basic gel superglue. I like gel because it's easier to control, doubles as a filler and (in my experience) will hold the part quicker, so you're not standing there like an idiot holding 2 parts together for 20 minutes. I've never been super picky about the brand, and I dunno what's available in the UK but, if you can find some, I highly recommend the new-ish style bottles that you squeeze on the sides, like so: The increased level of flow control is phenomenal.
  11. Seems to me the building you're currently showing look a little rural for gas lights to really match.
  12. Largely depends on if you're painting the base before or after attaching the model. I recommend attaching after painting, but in that case you really want to stick a pin or something similar (like filed down tab) into an unpainted hole, as glue on a painted surface will just eventually pull off the paint.
  13. Beautiful work. Great job on the shading, especially.
  14. That is so my new wallpaper!
  15. Wow, that stuff looks awesome.
  16. Thanks, much! Very helpful indeed. I'm not an entirely novice painter, but the way you described some techniques clicked in the ol' gray matter like previous descriptions did not. Much appreciated!
  17. Very nice! I really want to do Lilitu, myself, but that dress kinda intimidates me.
  18. Pretty impressive work in general, but especially for a relatively new painter. Not a huge fan of the color choice on LCB, though. Makes him look like a tree.
