I received my Thunders boxed set as well as the Ten Thunders archers and Miss Terious. These are the first Wyrd plastics I've picked up and I have to say...
The Good: Taken individually, the models are beautiful. Great proportions and detail. Flash and mold lines are almost non existent. In fact other than Miss Sterious, I've seen no mold lines at all. Very impressed with these new sculpts.
The Bad: No assembly directions. I've been gaming and modeling for many, many years. While I did get everything together, it was not without some frustration and head scratching trying to figure out which bits went where on which model. Especially with the box set that contained many different models.
The Ugly: While I absolutely love Wyrd miniatures (I bought several before Malifaux was ever releleased) I believe Wyrd has always had issues with producing in a consistent scale. I'm not talking about the difference between a tall man and a short man, many figures have been produced noticably smaller or larger than others. The plastics seem to have increased how obvious this is to me. One example is that the torso and head of Ototo are twice the size of the archers & toracage. While I realize that there will always be some variation between models, when it becomes so pronounced, it really takes the joy away from seeing the models on the table as a whole. In fact there are some I would love to own, but won't buy because the scale is so off compared to the rest. I think this really diminishes the quality of Wyrd miniatures as a line for a specific game.
