  1. Hello everyone from Sacramento, I haven't participated in Malifaux in a year and a half and want to get back in again so here we go. I've played tabletop wargames since 1987. Cut my teeth on Battletech and D&D Skirmish back in those days. I used to be able to say I've played most table top mini games but those days are long over with the explosion of the hobby. There for a time several years ago I was also a Judge, Warlord, Battlemaster for Wizkids; it was Mechwarrior that got me back into the hobby after my children were born. I've played quite a few though including Warmahordes, WFB and 40K to name a few most recent I still have stuff for. I'm not even going to talk about my video game adiction. I'm back to a place where I have time, desire and money to play again. Seems like 2nd ed. is a perfect point to start up with a relatively more level playing field. Just waiting on my 2E book to show up, I'll dust off my Guild and hit the tables again at Great Escape Games (GEG) in Sacramento. Maybe I'll see you around.
  2. Perfect reason to publish the rule books in the iBooks text book format. Then just roll your updates directly into the core rule book. Granted you still need the paper to get to everyone but for organized play the one stop shopping of the electronic, regularly updated, format can not be beat.
  3. Weekends are easy, I'll show up and do my best not to be an easy bye for everyone. The weekdays are especially hard to make between the family and work. Makes it tuff to increase my skill, but at least the judge is easy enough to play. See you on the 19th, happy fathers day to me.
  4. I like your paint job nice and clean.
  5. Your judge looks fantastic. Great execution of the hat. I can't wait to see him finished.
  6. Happy Birthday!

  10. These are insightful, unrestrained elocution's of the highest caliber :blah:! I particularly enjoyed your interview on Gamer's Lounge. Brian
  11. Hello Geist, welcome to the Malifaux forums. Your website looks to have lots of in depth information. You will be on the leading edge if you go the same route for Malifaux. I look forward to hearing your insight.
  12. Painting/Modeling tied for first. Gaming far third. I am always up for a fun game but I prefer to avoid tournaments these days (been there done that). I am always looking for something fun and different to build and paint. Western theme in Malifaux scratched that itch for me.
  13. Thanks for the clarification. As a neophyte I'm still trying to come to grips with the rules. I don't necessarily understand the Ramos / Johan example but I understand the intended difference between a master and minion/mercenary and that is the reason that the M&SU and Elite Division don't conflict for Hoffman and Ryle.
  14. I will add this to my collection...
  15. There is a really strong group of players at Great Escape in Sacramento. The pull from a fairly large geographic area too; 40K tournys of 90+ selling out weeks before the event. There is an event this Saturday for Malifaux. If you can make it by you might meet some people from your area that don't frequent these boards.
  16. My favorite mini is the Mr Potato Head Deff Dread
  17. So Hoffman, who has M&SU, can't take his brother?
  18. I've already met some great people that have convinced me to start (Andy, Billy, as well as Jordan who has an uncanny ability to make me spend money!). I'm looking forward to getting my feet wet, starting out and learning from you all. I picked up the lady j starter, austringer and executioner on Sunday in prep for the event. I thought they looked very different and they are unique in my cabinet as the only western figures I own. I have everything assembled (which I think is its own game?) and primed now so I am ready to go. Brian
  19. Veskit's gets the edge because of the bamboo bases and the vivid colors. Stark's and KOgre's are nice too. Not really a fan of Rasputina from a hobby/painting perspecive though due to the washed out winter colors... which KOgre nailed but still that influences me.
  20. Hello Dorian nice to meet you and welcome to Malifaux!
  21. Hello from Sacramento - this is the place to be on Wednesdays and Fridays for your Malifaux fix: Great Escape Games 1250 Howe Avenue, Sacramento, CA (916) 927-0810
