Hey there Wyrd boards, I started collecting Malifaux around the start of M1E and played very hard. Too hard. I bought way more stuff than I was ever going to paint. Couple years ago around the shift to M2E the local scene dried up entirely and nobody plays around me anymore. Realized I still have a crazy amount of models that would probably be loved a lot more by people currently still playing. And admittedly I kind of miss the storage space in my closet that all of this is taking up. I figured I'd list it on the Wyrd boards before eBay, because you guys have always been great and passionate about the hobby. I'd rather my collection go to people who will use them. I have models ranging from the early army boxes, to Nightmare Editions, to Avatars, to the Ten Thunders boxes which is around where I stopped. There are no real set prices. This has been something that's been talked about on the forums and in our gaming group a bit. Want to get it cleared up. Can Hungering Darkness gain Brilliance and then cast "Serve Me" on himself, die, then have another model with Brilliance die and have Jakob cast slave to darkness after it has and PLACING Huggy back on the board to give it 3 effective activations in one turn? I see no reason why you couldn't, and I think it would be pretty awesome and fluffy to have Hungering Darkness continually coming back, if not at the expense of your own models. I just want to know if I missed anything here. 3 Activations on anything is weird. Thanks in advance

What I'm being told on that front is that the casting flip is an Offensive Resist Flip. Im not entirely convinced an Offensive Resist Flip exists but at the same time I've been dreadfully wrong before and I dont know as much about the rules as I used to, which is why Im asking for help from the masses here, so I can have it straight.

So the process goes exactly Casting Flip > Generate Final Casting Total > Declare Trigger > Resist Duel for Opponent against that total sans suits > Resolution And Betrayed's effect never comes into play because when you are done generating the duel total and declare the trigger, the suits drop, and your opponent goes into the Resist Duel against your total. Does this seem like I have it outlined right? I want to be able to explain this to my group in a way that doesn't seem like Im just trying to be right, and instead have something that will be informative.

This came up in a game today and like most things relating to Jack Daw, intense rules discussion followed. Betrayed says "When determining this model's final total in a Resist duel, reduce the value of any Mask Cards in the final total to 0" I tried to cast Hangman's Knot, cheated my total up with a mask so I could get the double mask trigger for Heart Stopper. My opponent said that doesn't work because the total is now 0, as it is my total he's using in HIS resist duel, and then Betrayed triggers. This was backed up by our local Knows-A-Lot-About-The-Rules guy that my cast flip is part of a resist duel. I'm saying Jack Daw's total only goes to 0 when he's resisting, as when I cast it it wasn't a resist duel. It was my casting flip. I was under the impression you got a final casting total and then the resist flip was the flip against that number, and this is known as a Casting Flip. Besides that, in the rulebook entry he was citing it said that suits are ignored. He tells me the suit applies as I flip it, makes my flip 0 when casting, and that's still considered part of the resist duel. I ask this if not only because if a casting flip is considered a resist duel, it is virtually impossible for Jack Daw to ever cast Hangman's knot, much less get it's trigger. If anyone could clear up what's going on with this one, I'd deeply appreciate it. I probably won't play Jack Daw again because of the upset that comes from rules problems like this, but I'd like to know regardless to help me get the hang of the more intricate rules of Malifaux for similar situations. Hey there. I'm sorry you haven't been getting any replies, but hopefully I can fill you in on what the AZ Mali scene looks like. I used to live in flagstaff and there really wasn't much of a miniwargaming scene to speak of at all up there, being a fairly small college town. Occasional stuff at NAU but that's about it, best you could find was warhammer. I know there's a very, very, small following up there consisting of a few people, send me an IM and I'll send you some contact info. I know a guy that's trying to get it started and get his henchmendom started as well up there. So at the very least I could try to connect you with one guy up there. If you're really into playing and are willing to drive a bit we have two big groups that I know of in AZ. Phoenix/Tucson is where the real scene in AZ is. Placidemu is the henchman for Phoenix and plays where I do at Imperial Outpost Games. And Dire Hoarcat Snuggler is the Henchman for Hat's Games down in Tucson. Both groups go to the other's tournaments often and it's a very friendly scene. If you're interested I strongly suggest making it down to a tournament or two. I know both of us run them once a month. Kingdom Death has some awesome customer support. I had a King's Men lost in the mail before it got to me. I contacted Adam Poots and he actually just resent another one immediately with no questions asked through 1 day mail. I'm more than sure they'll send you replacement hands. He's an awesome guy. Edit: Oh I see you already got it resolved. Awesome. You should take some pics after you have everything assembled. They're really awesome models.

I'm fairly sure you can't dispel it because it isn't considered an effect as much as its considered an ongoing condition of detonate tanks. Though I'd double check. That being said you are a terrible person for suggesting this and I'm going to call you names when next we meet.

True story, Malifaux completely died out in my area for almost a year because of bad henchmanning. New henchman stepped forth. About 8 months now and Malifaux is one of the most popular games in our area, we pull higher numbers for Mali tournaments than almost any other tournament, and new people are coming in all the time. We just had a gaming convention in AZ that had tournaments for Warhammer, Warmachine, Fantasy, and Mali. Mali pulled the most people. Just make a showing of it, get more people interested again, try new things. Malifaux spreads like a wonderful disease. I cant tell you how many people I've gotten interested in the game just by showing them Teddy. Make an effort and you'll see results eventually.

Thanks for the advice guys. It ended up switching last minute to fixed faction pulling models from a 45ss pool for a 25ss game with limited schemes (Assassinate, Eye for an Eye, Steal Relic, Kill Protege, and Frame for Murder) as well as fixed strats (SContain Power, SRecconnoiter, SClaim Jump...I know. It ended up being fun a lot of fun regardless. Went quickly. Everyone was fun to play with.) So I really ended up needing a specialized general list. I managed. Grabbed 2nd place with The Dreamer -- 7 Pool 3 Daydreams [6ss] Insidious Madness [4ss] Night Terror [3ss] Stitched Together [5ss] Stitched Together [5ss] and one round with the twins list. I took a lot of advice from this thread to heart, it really did help. I found myself wanting more Night Terrors on Rec. Might go out and get some more. Again, thanks for the advice. It was really helpful

Just got back. Great tournament to everyone, it was a lot of fun. I hope we can have more tournaments with the Tucson crowd. I'm loving my hunk of concrete loosely called the 2nd place trophy but the real winner today was the copy of ET for the Atari. Legit. I so jelly.

This caused quite a stir when it happened during a match tonight. It played out like this Dreamer is sitting in base contact with daydream aSonnia casts Light Em Up on the Daydream, then bounces to the dreamer Light Em Up says that that daydream, and one extra model gain a burning token Shadowy Form says "Enemy models cannot target the Dreamer with Actions or Strikes if there is a friendly Nightmare within 3” of the Dreamer that could be a legal target of the Action." Person A argues that Dreamer cannot be targeted because of Shadowy Form and if you select him as the 2nd recipient of the attack, that is targeting. Person B argues that it is an effect of the Action, and therefor doesn't target. Who is right in this situation? How does this play out? Thanks in advance.

Fixed Shared Strategies, Fixed Crew. Not telling us what exact strats, just that they're shared. My first list pretty much changes my strategy to "Table the opponent" in strats like Reconnoiter, so yeah. I definitely recognize the problem there.

These are all interesting reads, pretty much echoing things I have thought about like the stitched + insidious list. I hadn't considered that would turn off so many VPs for the enemy though, that is nasty. I -have- tried that Zoraida Von Schill list. It is nasty, I just don't have a Von Schill at my disposal unfortunately. I'll try a few of these ideas. Thanks for the ideas. If anyone has any more I'd be happy to hear them.

I have a tournament coming up in a few games and I've been testing a few different lists so far. The one that's found most success is this. The Dreamer -- 5 Pool 2 Daydreams [4ss] Lelu [7ss] Lilitu [7ss] Lilitu [7ss] But I really feel that this falls really quickly to most other crews, as I'm really, really outactivated. I really feel like no matter what I do at 25ss with Neverborn I'm putting most of my eggs in one basket as the model count tends to stay low. Wat do? Opinions welcome. I'm open to switching masters and I have pretty much the entire Neverborn line so fire away.

I have consistently received up to 3 eyes with Coppelius from a Mannequin who didn't have any to begin with. Rules vs Fluff vs Logic is silly fun sometimes.
