  1. Really nice work there - it makes me want to get on with my Ressies! Can't wait to see more
  2. The skin tone looks good to me - although it'd be nice to see her face I really like the base too, is it balsa wood?
  3. Great stuff, I really like your idea for The Dreamer basing. I can't wait to see Lord Chompy Bits!
  4. Thanks fro the kind comments, they're appreciated! A few more pics.. Mortimer rear: I managed to get a good chunk of Seamus last night as I had a bit of a painting frenzy (by my standards!). I'm quite pleased with how he's turning out - I've tried to paint him similar to the image on page 78 of the Malifaux rule book, to make him look a little different from the studio paint job... Seamus rear: Seamus and Rotten Belle: Finally Teddy, although not a Resurrectionist - I didn't feel he warrented his own thread. I painted him a fair few months back and initially thought about going for a 'Care bear' style, but changed my mind and went for a traditional looking style. Teddy: I'm still working a few other models and will hopefully get some more images up soon..
  5. A little bit of resurrectionist magic here, as I haven't been painting for quite some time - due to just not having the time (can't paint at night for some reason) and the will to want to paint... Firstly a Rotton Belle wip: A rear shot: Overall I'm quite happy with how everything is progressing with the Belle - I'm very hapy with the turquoise. After I've added a few more details and tweaks she'll be varnished and eventually (when I have the money) I'll add a Victorian style base to finish off. Next up is Mortimer, who has been staring at me waiting for paint for far too long... Again I'm quite happy with the way Mortimer is turning out as I've had quite a horrid time painting him - I eventually pinned in the shovel hands as it broke off far too many times. I've tried to make Mortimer appear really grubby and dirty due to all the digging he does - although I'm not sure the camara picks this up too well (maybe a matt varnish will that). Mortimer is also the first model I've tried non metalic painting on (specifically the shovel) and i think it's turned out pretty well - I'll try to add some more pics later. Hopefully over the next week or so (Easter Holidays for me) I'll be able to finish them off and add a few others to the (meagre) completed pile - Ideally I'll have Killjoy and a few others completed by then! I'll try not to leave it as long between posts this time too!
  6. I thought I'd just add my (limited) experience with Mortimer.. Basically, since the Graverobber errata/rules change he's been invaluable to me - even for 7ss, as he's always produced 3+ corpse counters for Nicodem each game (which generally turn into Punk Zombies). Such has been his input (during my games) I don't think I would consider taking Nicodem without him.
  7. Yeah I know what you mean, I think I may have to go over my Nico's coat and make it a little brighter - hopefully all of my crew(s) specifically Seamus' will turn out really nice with lots of different pastel colours marking them appart..
  8. Again another small update with some ropey (ish) photography! Here's my take on Bete Noire: Basically I've tried to go with a sepia-b/w toned colour scheme to make the Bete's lipstick and the blood to stand out more - which I think works fairly well. Unfortunately as I'm waiting for some Matt Varnish to be delivered she's a bit shiny in places. She'll also be on one of those lovely custom Graveyard bases as soon as I remember what I did with it... Next up is a Nicodem commission I've been working on - which I'm quite pleased with overall - although like Bete he needs a Varnish: A look at Nicodem from the rear: [url=http://mrchuffy.tabletopgeeks.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/52/gallery/malifaux-commissions/nico-comm-002.jpg] Here's a comparison of my own Nicodem v's the commission: If I'm being honest I think I like the commission Nico looks nicer (probably the red), but I like my own Nico's Vulture better... Lastly a shot of the base (wip) as I used greenstuff to sculpt it to look like Wyrd's sustome bases: Hopefully I'll have a little time to concentrate on some more of my own crew for a little while so I can get poor old Mortimer finished soon (he keeps looking at me funny!).
  9. I've only got a tiny update for today as everything took longer to arrive than I thought it would - I also took a litle more time assembling them (after the Nico debacle) and pinned the joins and feet. Hopefully have some more finished models up shortly.. Here's my current undertaking(s): I think Seamus will be my next completed Resurrectionists model, as he looks fairly straightforward - no silly over detailing - and probably Mortimer as he's been waiting to be finished for a while, although his hands have broken off for probably the 10th time now, so I'll probably have a go at pinning them 1st.. Finally, the real reason that Seamus didn't get completed: I realy enjoyed painting The Dreamer, although I still have another run of high lighting and some more neatening up to do. Once I get some more of my Resurrectionists completed I'll be starting a Neverborn blog..
  10. Really nice work (for all the crews), I really impressed with the depth on the skin tones on all of the Leveticus crew.
  11. Looking good, nice choice of colours and that's exactly the type of basing I'll be looking to use on my Neverborn!
  12. That's a really nice job there, good light sourcing and I especially like the base - it looks cell shaded - it really draws you to the model. Can't wait to see more!
  13. I Know what you mean, there's so many great painted ones out there - all very different. I can't wait to get started on one! Nicely done Mister_Q
  14. Some nicely painted LCB (and crews), can't wait to see more! I may muster up the courage to assemble my one over the weekend (maybe!). Keep up the good work guys
  15. Just a quick update - no pictures though I've a fairly hectic few weeks, but I managed to make some headway* on the Vulture model and it's about 2/3rds complete - I'll try to get a photo or two up by the end of the week. In other news, I've been quite busy ordering new toys and should be receiving a few more Resurrectionist models this week - I wont say, it'll be surprise , I'll also finally be getting the Rulebook after what seems like an eternity, so I get really get to grips with the rules.. Lastly, Lord Chompy Bits (and the Dreamer!) arrived through the door today, so I've mostly been looking at in fear - I have a real aversion for model assembly :0 Thanks for all of the kind comments - I'll do my best to have a picture filled update for the end of the week! *Said headway was halted when my little lad decided to play with his Daddy's best paint brush - I'll let you guess what happened! - On the plus side, it made me get around to pinning Nico and the Puck Zombie to their bases after the fall*
