Overnight is great if you have a paper that you need to write, a program that needs be done, or a book to finish reading. Otherwise, no good if everyone else has packed up and left.

On Friday, April 25th, my wife and I will be running an M2E demo at Hobby Corner in Iowa CIty's Sycamore Mall. We plan on running at the very least Tina and Perdita, with a possibility of running more dependent on my painting schedule. We'll be starting at 6p, and going until at least 10p. SemanticDM

I talked to the guy running Spikey Bits inside the vendor hall, and he said he'd sold more than 75% of the product he brought. They only had a large-ish tote left when I got to them. No M2E stuff, sadly.

Nick H from TTB Podcast got 1st. Came down to differential between him and 2nd place - and there was a 1 point difference there. ShadowOpal should be getting full results online in the next week - when I left at 3:30, he was in zombie mode and thinking only of sleep and how much work had to be done before he could get there.

Where do you guys meet? My wife and I drive through there all the time to get to her parents'. Normally super late on Friday, and midday on Sunday. We've been known to stop off for tournaments or to generally hangout at cool shops on our trips. Powersox

They'll also be a _lot_ easier than painting the edges of 30m bases to more easily determine who owns which model in Puppet Wars. "All my models are on the blue bases!" "Mine are on the green." "Go, my blue pretties. Kill the yellow-tainted ones!"

On Sunday August 12th, Tempest Games is proud to host Into the Breach: A Beginner's Malifaux Tournament. The tournament is designed to be an easy way to pick up and learn Malifaux. Running at 25 Soulstones, players are allowed to use the models from 1 starter box + 1 totem, + 1 additional blister. Proxying will be allowed, but only for models that are summoned during the game. We will also have a painting competition, where participants can enter their best painted model to be judged by our expert judging staff. Entry fee will be $5, and prizes will be awarded. Doors open at 11, and the tournament will start at 12. There will be three 75 minute rounds, shared strategies, and up to one scheme per round. Everything is being streamlined to allow beginners to feel at home (and jog the memories of those of us who haven't played in a while). Any questions should go to me, and I'll be at Tempest this Friday and next to play/demo/re-teach whoever so needs.

Hey, it sounds very interesting! Question for you, though - what happens when an m/h doesn't have any territory left? Are they then out of the tournament? I could see one incredibly new player making a few mistakes, and all of a sudden, no one is able to play Collodi. What about the introduction of potential new m/h in the new book? (Disclaimer: No idea one way or the other, just bringing up possibilities!) Powersox

Hey all, As I've been going through the fluff, I've been thinking - what type of beer would they serve in Malifaux? I'm thinking some kind of red ale. Not very hoppy. But only because that's what Seamus makes me think of. Neverborn make me think a very hoppy, very bitter pale ale. Don't think I'd drink what Hamelin would brew... Note: I ask because, in addition to gaming, I also do some home brewing, and want to make something Malifaux themed for a gathering coming up. Powersox

Yeah, until Nino gets amputated :-D. I just got _really_ lucky with pulling a 9 for the Pidgeon Thing, and then the 7 I needed to kill Lady J. Otherwise, you def. would have had the game. Although now that I've gotten a real taste of the game, it'll make the wait to get PW that much longer. :-( Powersox
