  1. Currently there is not a huge amount going on in london. There used to be a club in Clapham (Clapham Wargamers Guild) but they have shut their venue. I think the best place to try is Dark Sphere and look at their Malifaux group. Also check out the Facebook groups Under the Bridge and A Wyrd Place since there is regular chat on there and you could ask around about Malifaux in london. Finally there is Cross Gaming Club in Borough, which I help run, but we haven't had Malifaux played there in a while, though I know loads of the members do have crews that they could dig out.
  2. Can I just say how awesome these special ed models are and Wyrd is for making them? I am so impressed. As a miniatures company they are hands down the best. thanks guys
  3. must resist temptation for THIRD order...
  4. I am interested in this, any more details of the event, location, etc? It is only 20mins from me so definitely interested.
  5. Woah, just putting my opinion out there and how I view the costume. I am sure all showgirls are either wearing their costumes or sweats, there is nothing in between. I was merely basing my observations off the fluff as a reason why Wyrd MIGHT do this.
  6. Personally I like the new style. While I would say that they wear the Showgirl dresses, that is for Shows. The rest of the time they will be more practically dressed. I think what she is wearing when they are outside the shows. There are hints of the showgirl dress with the cuffs, low cut dress and I am going to guess high boots, but it is more practical. I am reminded of the story where the showgirls were travelling through the sewers, and this is how they might dress, rather than full costume.
  7. well I am definitely interested now, I can dig out my Arcanists and Ramos and bring him along. Might have to start reading up on M2e rules though. While I support painted models, hopefully this opens it up to others who are not fully painted and will grow the community, which would be really great As long as I know what I need to bring with me I think it is best to hide scenarios. As you say, a balanced pool is going to be better, and there is still a lot of flexibility in that 100ss pool. If it is a story encounter then it is nicer to see how it progresses rather than knowing everything beforehand, like spoilers for a film
  8. Yeah, thank you. I know I could probably scrounge together all the stuff from other people but I don't really like doing that. been responsible for other peoples stuff is not great, and I kinda like playing with my own. TBH there is so much to do at smogcon it is cool. and Casual smogpit malifaux is probably going to be better for me anyway.
  9. yep, I meant Friday, don't know why I said Monday. Got a little fright when you said Thursday though. Personally I will probably be dropping. I can't get the 100ss needed for the pool painted in a month. I will probably just go and play a few games in the smogpit or something Isn't Conrad to blame for everything?
  10. Does the single master event on Monday require a fully painted crew? I have heard rumours that it does, but have not received any communication about this. If it does then I need to get a shift on to get them done
  11. That looks great. Going to have to sort out our set for the club and get some of the more interesting buildings.
  12. Yep, more avatars. And what I got the sense of was they would have a large area effect which will influence both crews. The examples given were mei feng's one makes minions more powerful against henchmen and enforcers, but this affects your opponents crew as well. The other was the brewmaster gets EVERYONE a little drunk.
  13. I really want to see what they do with hans. I had forgotten he existed, and am really excited to see how he changes
  14. I think this may be of interest to anyone who is concerned about sexism in gaming, technology and in general. https://www.upworthy.com/a-ted-talk-that-might-turn-every-man-who-watches-it-into-a-feminist-its-pretty-fantastic-7 ---------- Post added at 09:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:36 PM ---------- And in some countries it is shared equally between both mother and father, and the decision is up to them.
  15. Make mine sweet, this should be a good one
  16. I'll try and snag some pictures tomorrow, but just finished building the rail crew. I was really blown away by the malifaux plastics. They are as good as GW ones at their best. The detail is astounding and they handle the smaller, finer models very well. The cuts that have been made for assembly are fantastic and really well crafted. You'll see in the pics tomorrow, but one example was Kang's ponytail. It is a separate piece but they made it with supports down his back so that it isnt just going to snap off. Mei feng with her jumping pose just shows off how dynamic they can be. the only sort of let down is the emberling. It is basically a coal fire golem, so you expect a chunky creature, which is what you get. Unfortunately this style does not fit with the rest of the crew. The sculpt is still good, but in the overall look of the crew he does not fit. I would have to say that the quality of these models is on par with GW again. GW plastics in recent times have been fantastic (go look at the dark eldar). Whoever they got to do the plastics knows what they are doing, and if they are freelance and taking up other clients the we are all in for a treat. It would not be a far stetch to say that they guys doing it are ex GW, since they see, very similar. The design of the models is almost as good as infinity. I know I moan about this all the time (for those who know me, I try to stop on forums), but I have to repeat it; iPP should sit up and take notice. This is how you do plastic. PP are a far larger company, but the plastic they have is terrible in every way. If I was them I would be doing everything to find out who Wyrd is using and get them working on some jacks right away. this is how to do plastic. Do not think that Wyrd have gone down the PP route with plastic, this stuff is far superior
  17. Fantastic, and a great alt to the avatar sculpt
  18. Corpyhee duet has a +ve flip for defence and resist, plus a good base def value. They also have bulletproof 2, cutting down damage which gets through. I have found that sometimes people try to alpha strike them before they activate and get Use Soulstones, but you can always put a couple of doves near the duet, and sacrifice them to get the def flips you need. Cassandra sounds great for this, since she can get there an engage Niño, probably killing him too. I would probably get lots of soulstones when starting to make sure I can get my models across the field.
  19. Just to expand a little bit on the day and the format, it is a free gaming session where you gain points for doing various things. For example, get a point for playing a game. Get a point for playing a new opponent. Get a point for killing a master. And so on. It is quite a common format for Cons out in the US for free play days. You can just get a lot of games in, have some fun with different types of games, and play lots of people. We will do prizes for highest scorer, and probably some fun ones. Please note that lunch is not included. The pub offers great food, but since we are not sure on people we are just going to let you choose and buy what you want. You can go and get a sandwich outside if you like as well (though it will not be as good as the pub food).
  20. All flips might show up in the text screen as well as the deck, and you can save the text. The only problem if this is implemented is you can look back and see what you/your opponent has flipped It is possible to save the map as a jpeg at any time, so you could do each activation or turn
  21. Awesome stuff. Really looking forward to seeing it some time
  22. Is it possible to add a club to London in the UK? Cross Gaming Club, www.crossgamingclub.com
  23. You are seriously funny. I am having a hard time not bursting out laughing in front of my employees. I am loving everything so far, and you managed 40 replies without showing any new malifaux minis, that must be a record! If you do get screwed in the future with lighting then drop me a pm, I can guide you.
  24. here are all the models I have painted so far for my arcanists, sorry about the pic quality. C&C welcome
  25. Gunsmith done, pretty happy with him, but if any changes are needed then feel free.
