  1. Does anyone know if there has been any word or rumors about the Faction Decks? They've been out since Black Friday, and I'd really like to get some of them.
  2. The obvious one for Rabbit is Luther the Pascha Hare, as it is alt Blessed of December. And the model looks pretty manic. The blatantly obvious one for Owl is a Raptor, but that seems weak for such a character as Owl. If you're up for sculpting it, maybe an owlbear model using the Arcane Emissary's rules. An obvious choice for Eeyore would be Mechanical Rider, although I could see Cojo. Flavor Mark Territory and Pound Chest and Howl to fit Eeyore, and you could use Cojo's rules.
  3. I've been waiting for this to get released, and will get one in a month or two, as finances allow. I agree, those drive belts look delicately fiddly, and I'll have to see about finding a decent pair of longhorns to replace those spindly things. Maybe along the lines of the Archon de Faathi or Minotaur of the Plains from Confrontation.
  4. I like what you did the saw for the Large Arachnid. I just filed a groove down the middle so mine look like a pair of saws. The weathering on the Large Arachnid is excellent. It looks like it's been used in some industrial setting for months before being pressed into a fight. You did an excellent paint job on them, the only comment I would have is the shadows on the pants for the male look a little dark. The more I see them, the less I like the Gunsmiths. The female one is holding the pistols terribly, and the male just looks bland to me.
  5. He might be doing for his amusement, but he's doing for mine, and probably a few others, as well.
  6. At first, I thought they were pegs to mount a wingtip onto, but there weren't any wingtips on the sprues. Looking closer, the might just be venting for the casting, so that the molding details fill out completely.
  7. So, yes, using a very thing needle file to make a groove down the center of the saws is possible. But a very thin needle file is needed, perhaps 1 to 1.5 mm, no thicker. And you need to be very patient and have a steady hand. I filed out grooves in about 20 minutes, and maybe could have taken another 10 minutes to file them deeper, but these are already far better looking than without the grooves. Now I just need to find a way to post 3MB pics. In the meanwhile, here are some links to a couple quick snapshots. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/Islander_23/Fig_Pics/Malifaux/Spiders1_zpserm3uwh3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/Islander_23/Fig_Pics/Malifaux/Spiders2_zps6z2obsvt.jpg
  8. It seems like it was a tough call, and a limitation of the technical side of modeling. To have the saws be closer to the renders would require multiple pieces, and they may not have had that luxury. The good news is that it looks like a thin file can remove the material from the middle, so it is more like a pair of saw blades, like the renders. It will need to be a thin file, but should be doable. I'll know in a couple days when mine arrive at the LGS.
  9. Oh, yeah, I meant the Emissary, not the Effigy. The minotaur one. Are there rumors of when that will be released?
  10. More great ideas. I'm working on my first wave of models. Ramos, Joss, Howard, Electric Creation and Spiders. Then after that, I'll be looking at some more Constructs, probably Metal Gamin, and when it is available, the Arcane Effigy. Once I have a decent pool of constructs to run with Ramos, I'll fill out my Marcus Beasts, looking at crossover with Rasputina. @ Ampers&nd, I have ordered the Wave 1 deck from Wargame Vault, so I'm all set there, but thanks for the offer. Now I just need to decide if I want to go with wintery themed bases, looking ahead to picking up Rasputina in a few months.
  11. @Freman Thanks, it's going take some time to read through all of that.
  12. Thanks folks. I'll have to see about getting more arachnids, and maybe tracking down a Brass Arachnid on eBay or the trade forum. Then just play a bunch of games to get used to the flow of the game. I have a bunch of things to learn. When to Swarm the Arachnids, how many to buy, what other models synergize with Ramos, how to utilize Lanston without over-extending him. The kind of stuff that will come with experience and knowledge of the game. @Clockwork Top Hat: What's Pull My Finger?
  13. So, my local gaming group is picking up Malifaux, and I have a handful of models, from a few years ago, that I liked but never got around to painting. Among them is the Old Marcus box set, plus Ramos, some Arachnids, and Joss, as well as a decent model to proxy Langston, so I have a core for both Ramos and Marcus. There is a Marcus Tactics thread that I've been reading, but I don't see one for Ramos. Is there a good Tactics thread for new Ramos players kicking around anywhere? I've seen a few for Ramos with something specific, but no general tactics thread.
  14. Depending on size, try looking for some Reapers of Mid-Nor from Rackham. I'm not sure the aesthetic is quite right, but they're gribbly little flying things. You'll have to try eBay or something along those lines.
