  1. So I have a bête related question. I asked some friends and was told that bête does not automatically get fast when she replaces a model because the 2 models are never on the table at the same time. One dies and as soon as it leaves play bt takes the place it had just occupied. However recently I read the errata and found that she no "youmay choose to place this model in base contact with the killed or sacrificed model before it is removed from play." Does this mean that the model dies after bête comes into play. This could mean that as the model dies after activating her ability or is there an important diference between killed/sacrificed and removed from play?
  2. Ditto that, EAT BUILDING LADY J! On a more related note: bête can single handedly paralyze an armies entire hitting power or deal her sevire of 4 (with depraved tactics) by herself not to mention her incredible mobility and nigh invincibility.
  3. Ok folks so I have recently taken to m@m (I say m@m because I ment to type m&m but I failed and so I have Now inadvertantly coined mcmouning's new catch phrase). I think he's an awsowe master and needs to be cutting up some bodies for my crew. So I have to decide what to run with him. I think I actually saw this list on the forums before, its a good list as far as I can tell but could use some critical imput. The list is as follows: M@M: 7 as cache Sebastion Bête noir 4 canine remains Zombie chuwawa 25 as total. I think I will add a nurse if I want to make it 30 ss. Now Sebastion is just great for a 6 soulstone model and he combos so well with the dogs to make a companion (and speedy) killing machine. Bête gives me 3 things. First m@m is actually pretty easy to kill if you can get him in one activation. With bête I can paralyze targets that would rip my precious master to ribbons if he got close allowing me to be more aggressive with the mcmourning. Second she gives me some high cb something the rest of my crew lacks and third she gives me some much needed mobility. This is actually important because for the most part I do not feel it is a good idea to leave Mcmouring alone. If he gets mobbed I will have to pay for it in the end. With bête I can suicide one of the dogs or a creation of the morgue master's out and summon her to kill things. So my question to you is: is this a good list, pros cons what you think needs improvement what problems will come up and the most economic way to buy all this. Like is his box set worth it? Anyways let's see what we got shall we?
  4. OK folks now perhaps you see this thread title and you probably think "hey cool judge - LJ army list," or "awsome book 3 rumor." But sadly nothing so mature. You see a friend and I have a Malifaux slap bet and we thought that there would be no better place to put it to rest than here on the forums. The bet is as follows: my friend believes that Lady Justice is married to the Judge. Now I said this was B.S. and so the bet was formed. Here is where we find out he will be the slapper and who will be the slapie of this bet. Is Senora Justica bound in the holy bonds of matrimony with the Judge?
  5. What about the hanged "smell fear" ability. Last I checked if they activate it on their activation they are still permitted to charge a model that fails moral on it's activation.
  6. SO! Today I played a game of good old Malifaux with some friends. I played Zoraida my one of my friends played Pandora with Jack daw and 2 hanged (it was a 30 soulstone game) while another played the Raspuitina box set with an acolyte. At some point during the game I had an epiphany. If I cast Hex (from Zoraida) on Jack Daw and remove the ability "undying" from his card WHAT HAPPENS? To me it sounds like he would just die having no wounds written on his card. However my friend made the case that since he wasn't reduced to 0 wounds he does not fulfill the rulebook definition of dying making him invulnerable since * - however many wounds does not equal 0. Does this mean I can take jack in a zoraida list and make him invulnerable??? I've broken the Malifaux rules!
  7. My friend had the same idea and in general yes. I think they work well together, however the hanged are better for Pandora because they throw out more moral duels in general so I recommend taking both hanged and Jack. This said that's a lot of points so what I've found is that you can only afford to do it in large soulstone games where you can take nephlim or other assault units to beck them up or 2v2s. -mantastyle
  8. Which is why when people say that dora is super easy to kill I must disagree. She effectively defends herself at df 7 with an additional flip afterward that can also be cheated/soulstoned. With two ways to stop an attack dora is probs more tanky than perdita.
  9. Hi, I'm the hapless viki player mentioned above, with your suggestions and a little experimentation of my own I think I've found my general strategy. As said before threat saturation is the way to go. Also you simply cannot let pacify or pity go off. If those are stopped Pandora cannot get her extra movement to either escape from melee range or get in self loathing range. Then you simply have to charge in and hope you can kill her right then and there. The last game I played with him went something like that. As far as I can tell there is not much a viki starter set con do beyond that to dora. Anyways feel free to contradict me. I'm rather new to the game. However on another note I've been told that the vikies are a pretty easy caster to play but I would disagree it strikes me that they are rather easy to kill being only defence 6 and 7 wounds per vik. They are also the mercenaries are not very fast but tend to follow the same general guidelines. Am I right in saying that? Or just dead wrong?
