  1. Today I just played my first two games ever with Misaki, almost purely Outcast. I own the old metal Misaki, and have had her painted on the shelf for years, so it was time to at least try her once!

In my first game, Reckoning vs Lilith, my Crew was formed by Shang, Hannah, Librarian, Sue, Strong Arm Suit and 1 Ronin. Misaki fully killed Nekima in 1 activation (4 Attacks thanks to Stalking Bisento), and on the other side of the table Hannah kept Lilith out of the game by burying her turns 3-5.

On the second game, I had Shang, Hannah, Trapper, Librarían, Yamakizo and Johanna, fighting a Turf War vs Marcus. This time Yamakizo disturbed my opponent's Crew mostly thanks to her Braced Yari, but she also managed to put a lot of damage with Blasts. When she died othe third turn, Hannah took her place and survived 1 cerberus, Cojo, 2 Raptors, Jackalope and Márcus for 2 turns, with some great backup healing from the librarian. Thanks mostly to a lot of Blasts, I managed to kill all the beasts, including Marcus by the end of the game.

This time, Hannah was again the star of the show (I bought for her Ancient Tomes and I pay Better on both games), and Shang was only needed to heal Misaki once, but it was absolutely worth if only for Rush of Magic, as it was great to be able to draw 8 Cards, keeping 7, all the time by having those 2 on the table both games.

I only bought Stalking Bisento (which I find almost autoinclude), and sUrvivalist for Misaki, but I wished I had bought the Cutpurse Upgrade at least on the second game.

I should have to play her a few more times, but I actually enjoyed her a lot!

  2. If you take the Reliquary Upgrade, it allows Yan Lo to summon any Ancestor models that you hired and then died during the Encounter, but just once each.

That might not look like much, but then remember it allows him to summon One Henchman (Toshiro), and 3 different Enforcer models (Yin, Chiaki and... Izamu!). Although it is situational, it can be arguably better than Seamus' and McM's summoning, if you ask me.

Ohh, and if you want more summoning power, you can always take the Spare Parts Upgrade looking for Guild Autopsies and occasionally a Rogué Necromancy!

  3. Hello there guys!

We're building some sort of a Cantina-like Malifaux table, and we'd love to put some Malifaux related posters and pictures on the walls, but we're pretty lost on that regard.

I think I remember seeing some great stuff like that some time ago on this forum, but can't find anything anymore, so I thought maybe someone could show me some good stuff to share with us.

So, does anyone know where/how to find some Malifaux posters?

    Thanks in advance!

  4. I'd say the Freikorps one, who looks golden to me in terms of utility and flexibility to achieve all Victory objectives (both Scheme and Strat's); there are no game breaking models there by themselves, but together form quite a good Crew; I have played a lot of games with just that starter vs a lot of other non-starter-box Crews and I don't remember the last time I lost with the Korps (even against hard match-ups like Kirai).

May you want to expand it further with a heavy in your Crew, just look at either Lazarus, Strong Arm Suit or Hannah, and you will be most served.

  5. This model gains the following Ability:

Promises Made: Friendly models with at least one

Upgrade attached within a6 of this model gain +

to all Wp and Ml duels.

So, does this benefit the actual model owner of this Upgrade just for having this one purchased?

I mean, if I buy Promises on Sidir, does he automatically get himself the Wp and Ml bonus even if he doesn't have any other Upgrade?

  6. Yan Lo can gain, thanks to Aspirit Ascendant, this Tactical Action:

    (2)  Fury of Yomi: Up to three friendly Spirit models in 8” pulse may immediately take a (1) Action.

    My question is:

Does it allow you to take up to three (1) Actions with ONE SINGLE model, or do they have to be all 3 DIFFERENT models?

Example: Could Izamu (Spirit) take 3 (1) Dadao strikes all by himself, or would am I forced to take all those 3 (1) Actions between different models?

    Thanks in advance

  7. Sup guys!

There is always one thing that puts me away of starting with Yan Lo, and that is cause I cannot find a Strategy where he could be stronger than Seamus, McM, Molly, Nico...

When should he be a stronger choice over the rest of the Resser Crews?

Maybe... Turf War, anyone? (although I rate McM, Nico and Molly pretty high there, btw!)

  8. I have been playing a few games with ResserTara lately, specially interested on Karina:

My initial feelings were that it now rocked. Yeah, she can't SS the Crow in, but there is a midly broad selection of Horros to summon, so it didnt look that bad as I could easily summon 2-3 models per game with ease.

At first, it looked great! basically Karina was paying for herself sitting safely on the backside of the Crew... but then you realize that when Karina happens to summon something, it becomes a pseudo forced AP wasted on the first activation Tara gets on the next turn because that summoned Horror has no way to get back to the table unless you bought Obliteration Symbiote, so then you won't be able to bury anything else with Glimpse the Void, nor will be able to summon any other Horror with Karina

So then you are almost forced to unbury the now Slow Horror back to the table, which is not that bad, but you then need to have, or Stone, at least a 7+ Crow, exactly what you would need for Karina to summon another model in, all the while burning one of you Master's AP (ok, Tara uses to have a lot AP, but still this is an almost forced one).

Still, if you accept the AP  and Crows sink, Karina is now 100% better as she was previously, and I guess she is now a legit option on Tara's arsenal. Not an autotake by any means, but if she manages to summon at least 1 cool Punk or Student in (which she should have at least the chance in 5 turns), then she could turn to be a worthly investment.

Unfortunately, I never felt like using the Nothing Beast, as for its price, there are a lot of other monsters at Tara's disposal, specially the Dead Rider and Rogue Necromancy, which I feel are stronger overall.

  9. Very true, and McTavish has a pretty good support one with the marker that gives cover but in flexibility Sue likely wins as he has two.  Though you have to be very careful with Sue's The Man in Black as it can affect your spells that you use on your own models.  Had a buddy run into that problem when he wanted to use Ama no Zako's Obey like spell on Sue after he had already put up the aura.  It might hinder with Friendly spells that have TN numbers, that Negative flip.

    So true as well!
