  1. I tested extensively Jack Daw's Crew all along the wave 2 beta process, and I must say I am really happy in their final beta cards (apart from Guilty's Accusation Trigger). I am also a a mostly in-theme player, and Jack's really one of those Crews with so strong theme that in my opinion it is actually a pity to go out of it. Of course, there are plenty of models who will work wonders besides Jack, but I just like to keep the theme there. In my testing, I only played with Sue and Ama no Zako as non-Tormented models, but they worked pretty fine within the Crew. In fact, Ama works like a charm with Jack, and it is a force multiplier if you also hire Jaakuna and some Drowneds. The only Tormenteds I didn't test were the Crooked, but just as a personal dislike of the models, as they really have potential on the Crew. As you already said, Montresor and Ligeia, as well as Guilties are almost mandatory for the Crew. The Hangeds were almost an auto-hire in my first games, we all know how strong they are, but by the end of the beta I never hired any, I just didn't feel they were so needed by then. Strong? Always, but not needed at all for success. I just love the Crew; Jack is such a strong character that one can't simply ignore it in this game, but its gameplay is pretty interesting too. It's not that it is so unique or amazing, it is just fun to me. His Curses give him some tactical tools who can be game winning sometimes, but most often than not, they're not that important. Jack himself is not a powerhouse in any aspect of the game. Tough? He is hard to take down, but not inmortal in any way. Jack has a bit of everything. He can "Obey", "Mimic", has movement shenanigans, can be fearsome, deals OK damage, buffs his Crew, debuffs the enemy, card manipulation... even Scheme tricks! Every one of the Tormented's Crew Upgrades are desirable, and none of them too much more than the others. Even the Curses can be ignored or at least you are not required to take the 3 of them everygame. The Crew has his own strenghts and some weaknesess too, which can deal some bad match-ups here or there, but I feel like that's how it should be in Malifaux anyway. As some of you, I can't really wait to see his Starter Box Crew, which will be pre-ordered just the very minute I see it available.
  2. Marionettes take no damage form Burning +1 though, as that can be reduced
  3. By reading it, it looks like you were outplayed by your opponent, it was not Crooligan's fault. Remember that auraa now need LoS to get the effect, and you should have just Focused instead of Soulstoned, at least from your second cast when you had learned SS'ing would not work. Also, your opponent must have some magic fingers to draw or flip so many 8's for The Mist and still keep so many high Cards to defend his Crooligans so well. I have intensively played Molly around the beta process and I can honestly say I did not succesfully cast that spell more than once or twice per match at the very best, and I have almost always hired at least 2 of them for Molly and Hamelin, and sometimes for other Resser masters too. Still, even if gunning them down was an issue, melee the Crooligans down, or at least place 1 gamin or any other model to block the LoS of The Mist to another valuable target for Tina to Blast... or just Blast the hell of your own cheap minions standing close to the Crooligans. And anyway, stating that Crooligans are more powerful than the Snow Storm... well, those 4 Crooligans costed 16ss, so they should have had an impact in the game after all, but still....
  4. Ummm, I had guessed you could not have more than 1 kind of Totem model attached to a Master, but it looks like it's just a v1.5 thing of the past, and after checking the rulebook it looks like the only Totem restriction, apart for the usual Rare 1, is only for HIRING them, so it looks like you're right on that Vanilla_Dice. I think I will try the Malifaux Child hiring thing, and see how it works. Thanks for pointing it out!
  5. But then you cannot summon Stolens as long as the Malifaux Child is alive. To me, hiring 1 Stolen is well worth the investment. The starting Stolen is not there for Hamelin, but for the 2 Rats you get off him, netting you a gain of 2ss in models and extra activations, as well as quickening the Rat King factory. Anyway, don't forget The Obedient Wretch; if you're lucky enough to draw or Flip 2 :Crows on the first turns, combined with the 2 Rats off the Stolen, there you have an almost free Rat King by Throwing Rats to the Rats.
  6. Don't forget the lot of Hamelin's Lost children: -- Crooligans are good objective runners (not the top end of them, but still good at it) -- Candy can be pretty dangerous against Melee Crews, as nobody in his sane mind want to stay close to her; specially if he has any kind of strong Attack and not-high Wp. -- Baby Kade can be utterly brutal, as with so many models on Hamelin's Crew, most every enemy model in range of his knife will be already engaged, and so his Dg is buffed. Also, Hamelin's Pipes and Kade's Pounce match perfectly. -- Iggy's -2 Wp aura is absolutely great for Hamelin, as his Incite pairs absolutely good with Candy. They're so good, and stay on theme so well, that I think I have never played a Hamelin Beta game without any of them, and I've played and tested a lot!
  7. Even Tara bastly prefers the Desolation Engine or Killjoy better than The Nothing Beast...
  8. That is all correct, Fetid, but it IS still weird, even if it is supported by the rules, that a Paralyzed model can shoot or cast, but cannot Attack in Melee when Obeyed...
  9. But the Paralyzed model can still Shoot or Cast, isn't it? Then it would be pretty weird that a Paralyzed model could be obeyed to do any Attack Action other than , imho.
  10. And don't forget that Tara´s opponent can just kill anyone model and instantly unbury Hans in contact with it, risking your valuable and costy Hans to be in an unwanted dangerous place.
  11. And still, no official words from Wyrd around here... :Sad_Puppet2:
  12. Hello there. Please, let me say this straight. Why is it do f**ing rediculously impossible to buy a Malifaux M2E Rulebook on a LGS in Europe? There has past more than 3 months since GenCon, when M2E was released. We are said, even by Wyrd, to support our LGSs, they are an important part of the chain who builds the community of a game, but it is almost impossible for them to get a copy of the rulebook to sell us. We are forced to play with the last version of the wave1 Beta rulebook, so I should at least say Thank You! for it, but it is getting lame by now. How come are you going to make your Malifaux community grow if you can't even bring a copy of the rulebook to a Demo game? 3 months after its release! I don't want to be forced to buy it from a big online shop like Wayland (which is the one who is supposedly taking most of the copies that are sent to Europe, at least that's what 2 local shop owners are telling me, btw), and I don't know is the situation is exactly the same in other countries (even while I have read a few other people comment it is hard to get their copies as well). Here in Spain, it is absurdly sad that almost the whole community has to play with the Beta PDF rulebook, with just a very very few lucky ones having their legit M2E rulebook. Please, tell us what is happening here, but it is getting old by now. Thanks in advance.
  13. This FAQ should also Fix the issue of Luring an enemy already in base contact to make it fail a Wp Duel (and so healing Seamus,pe), and also generating an attack
  14. Sezar

    Lillth 2.0

Add the Fears Upgrade (sorry, forgot the whole name) for another possible 3 Dg when the enemy activates while engaged with Lilith if they fail a Wk 14 Duel... Suddenly, staying close to Lilith is more dangerous than ever!
  15. +1 to the 3 waves pledge, I would just prefer to Focus on half the models that are left to be shown, even if that meant I would have to wait another 4-6 extra months for any of the Masters that I already have but we're missing their cards/rules. Anyway, I still have my faith in Wyrd and this awesome community that even in 2 waves everything will be pretty balanced and funny for mostly everyone
  16. Well, that would actually be a great way to avoid Tara's Death against the Scheme Assassinate!!
  17. The three times I've played her, She just stayed behind punishing buried models, so there is no way she could have actually activated the Trigger... Having Karina so close to the enemy is not my idea of playing her, anyway
  18. Just remember that all 3 attacks must target the same model, so if you kill it on the 1st blow, the others are wasted
  19. Ummmmm.... Shouldn't those Gremlins keep flying past the Beast? It is Incorporeal!!
  20. As far as I know, wave 2 is supposed to start on October the 7th, so the waiting won't be long!!
  21. Errrrr, well, the healing effect had been already stated to be a typo, it shouldn't have been shown, as it was only something they had tested on their internal Beta, so nothing new there... and anyway, Seamus has had 12 Wds vs McM's 14 during most of the Beta!
  22. Where to follow the latest about Wyrd's stuff on the GenCon?? Gimme some #'s & @'s!!! ;D
  23. Nice to finally get some info about it (there should have been anything official, imho), but to be honest I'm not impressed at all by those models. I hope we can find some reviews about the fluff and historical encounters soon!
