  1. I still think the zombie chihuahua is worth it's ONE point. Nothing has made me laugh more than having a high card and using dissect with that little bugger. Also, as you make your way up the field it's good for McM to be able to get the corpes of the models killed by your front line without going out of his way. Sure, it's not what it used to be, but it's in no way useless.
  2. Dr. McMourning is, no doubt, an awesome master. He's a total beast in melee (albiet fragile if handled incorrectly), he has some devastating spells, and can summon the more nasty monsters in the game. I would definitely recommend having a rogue necromancy proxy as well as a flesh construct (or two, depending on your playstyle) on the side lines ready to join the fray. As far as models to start with, it's always good to bring the zombie chihuahua and a couple of canine remains. The dogs add a lot of flexibility to your crew, whether they're racing forward to grab objectives / table quarters, or staying behind to be slain by McM himself to bolster the undead ranks with fouler creatures. I also never leave home without one rotten belle and a convict gunslinger. These two in tandem are an absolutely devastating duo. You really can't go wrong. Punk zombies and crooked men also often find their way into my lists based on what the strategy / schemes are for the match. Crooked men can be a bit tricky to master, but once you have the hang of how they work, you'll be happy you learned how to use them. Hope this helps!
  3. Yeah, I went ahead and ordered the executioner. The peacekeeper sounds great, but he's a bit too points/$ heavy for what I'm looking for. Thanks for the replies!
  4. Cool. Would austringers bring anything to the crew? They look cool but more ranged may nit be what perdita needs. I like the idea of the peacekeeper adding some melee threat and speed to the list. Any other suggestions?
  5. So I play ressurectionists primarily (McM to be exact) and I'm looking to start up another crew to add some variety to my malifaux games. I was thinking of picking Lilith origionally but that would just be going from one melee master to another. I already have the perdita box and will be picking up abuela. I'd like to run primarily Ortegas, can anyone give me some suggestions of a few models to round out the crew? I'm not looking to start collecting a lot of guild, I just need one to two models / blisters to pick up in order to make the ortegas viable in all core strategies. Thanks!
  6. It's difficult to put together a list without first knowing the strat/schemes of the game. Malifaux is meant to be list tailored to the situation, so keep that in mind. As for the list, I don't really see the strength in guild autopsies. They don't provide corpse counters when they die and they can be easily summoned into the game (3 BP's) if the situation arises. I would drop one of the belles (you only really need one, and they're relatively easy to keep safe with range 18") and the guild autopsies and pick up some punk zombies / crooked men (depending on the strat/schemes). Sebastian can be a beatstick, but he really slow, consider using the belle to help get him into position. McMourning is my favorite master as he can be really brutal when the situation / cards arise. Have fun, and happy dissecting!

Send me a PM if you're intersted in a game, I have a table and terrain at my place!
  8. I'll get you gadget.... NEXT TIME! I'm starting to see their potential, it's all about the "not obvious" solution. And totally depends on the strategy/schemes.
  9. Wow! Thanks for all the great replies! Looks like I'll give them another shot after all! I was playing them against Ramos and he just sent electrical creations at me and blew them up, so I was pretty frustrated in general. I really like the idea of dropping markers on models in melee, that's pretty awesome.
  10. Yeah, using them when your opponent has claim jump or treasure hunt sounds pretty cool as long as you can get to it first. I usually run McM and am getting into Seamus, so I don't have any way to bring then back.
  11. Yeah, I understand their role, it's just so easy to avoid the markers since you can move through them and not "end your activation" near them. I think they might be better if you spam them on the table, but then you're not going to have SS for models that will actually kill something.
  12. That's how we played it, and if that's the case I can't ever see myself using crooked men again. There's just too many better options for the Soulstones. Unfortunate really.
  13. So, I tried crooked men out today because I like the models and the "idea" behind them and what they do (or are meant to do). There were a few rules questions thar came up today that I'm hoping to get some wyrd sanctioned answers to. 1: if a model has already ended it's activation can it be lured into a marker triggering it's effect? 2: can one model trigger two crooked markers by being equidistant from them at the end of their activation. Thanks everyone, I'm hoping to get some answers that will help me justify giving them a second look.
  14. That's exactly the Vik's list that I was going to go with. Adding in Taelor to take it up to a 30ss list.
