  1. Guild-Individually strong figures, some tricks but largely simple big numbers in key stats. No healing (except maybe hoffman on constructs can't remember) and only one master can create more minions. Ressers- great durability and minion creation/recycling. Many units have very limited kill power. Arcanists- Mixed bag, Skirmishing beastmaster, ice themed blaster, spider themed inventor with summoning/buffing and a battlefield controlling showgirl all with appropriate minions. Neverborn- As of book two they now have strong reliable minion upgrading, battlefield control, skirmishers and action denial.
  2. Very Awsome, my Ramos is Dr.Doom and has a greenstuff hood and cape.
  3. I've decided schemes being too good or too hard isn't a big deal since it seems that to be most tourneys allow each scheme to be used only once. I started to be annoyed by it in casual play and fix it I've made a deal with my most frequent opponents that we'll keep track of schemes used and use each scheme once every four games. You could try doing the same either with individual players or as a general rule for a group.
  4. I'm not big on Proxies so I haven't tried out much book 2 stuff but it feels like the million tots and grow them tactic that used to be made of fail will emerge as one of if not the prevailing Lillith technique. I'm thinking a 30ss list of 3 tots-9 Lelitu-7 Black Blood Shaman-6 Cherub-2 2 Desperate Mercenary-4 cache-6 Tots are very important now since their the raw materials for the now very reliable Mature Nephalim, Lelu, Lelitu factory.
  5. If you like the dog chopshop trick use the scalpel slinging (0) action to move up to the dog that you positioned in front of McMourning last turn this will actually get him across the board faster.
  6. Judge-Solid but I like the Executioner better for his insane durability. Austringer- Haven't played but they seem good for forcing your opponent to come to you or get nickel and dimed to death (Nino's super range and Perdita's bullet bending are pretty good at this too). Messenger seems unecessary since Ortegas can already alpha-strike due to the family trait.
  7. Silly me thinking it was relevent to your origional post? Did you find my lists (my wife's really) useful?
  8. Why? Are you repainting them to fit better with Ortega's?
  9. Hmm that looks like fairly solid force, it's one big weakness is that losing any of those models is a big hit you don't have anything to draw out your opponent with. Of course that is a general weakness of Ortegas in general. If you were 100% commintted to adding models I'd suggest franchesco first then a witchling stalker though you could use 2 stalkers to save money since you have to buy a 3 pack. You might consider dropping one big model for 2-3 small ones. 30ss Perdita-cache 2 Enslaved Nephalim-2 Executioner-7 Nino-7 Franchesco-5 2 Witchling Stalkers-8 cache-3 The above is my wife's standard scrap crew. 30ss Perdita-cache 2 Enslaved Nephalim-2 Peacekeeper-9 Nino-7 Franchesco-5 2 Witchling Stalkers-8 cache-5 30ss Perdita-cache 2 Enslaved Nephalim-2 Executioner-7 Nino-7 3 Witchling Stalkers-12 cache-4 30ss Perdita-cache 2 Enslaved Nephalim-2 Peacekeeper-9 Nino-7 3 Witchling Stalkers-8 cache-5 35ss Perdita-cache 2 Enslaved Nephalim-2 Executioner-7 Nino-7 Franchesco-5 3 Witchling Stalkers-12 cache-4 35ss Perdita-cache 2 Enslaved Nephalim-2 Peacekeeper-9 Nino-7 Franchesco-5 3 Witchling Stalkers-8 cache-5
  10. I think that though this generally isn't a huge problem and can even reflect something about the nature of undead (the most common victims of this phenomenon); the way they often ignore attacks that would cripple or weaken a living opponent until their killed in a spectacular fashion. On the other hand Omadon makes a valid point about your opponent metagaming when he knows a red is coming by throwing lots of attacks at his most valuable hard to wound figure. It's a common occurence across gaming that sufficient metagame thinking leads to an interesting quirk in the rules can becoming a semi-broken mechanic that can ruin the fun of one player. The question is whether this needs to be fixed or not since outside the box metagame thinking is a big part of wargames and ccgs.
  11. Lillith-cache 4 Zoraida-cache 5 Mature Nephalim-10 Young Nephalim-6 Waldgeist-6 3 terror tots-9 Cherub-2 cache-10 alternatively drop terrortot, cherub and 1ss for a second waldgeist or young. Zoraida doesn't have alot of synergy with her crew so you can really build around the Lillith/Nephalim warmachine. Z's 2 obeys can be a huge boost to the mature nephalim. It will take a little planning and finesse since you want to get kills on the mature's turn to get a blood counter and you can't activate them together.
  12. Oh so officially put me down for two. Darn I was kinda hoping to run molly(maybe), guess I'll have to wait. Any chance you could allow any totems to be proxied? I've been making proxies for alot of totems because a) part of me chaifs at the idea of spending 7.50 on a 2ss figure I don't really like alot of the totem models and prefer my proxies. If speed is the main issue I'll order stat cards from wyrd. If not no big deal, just 25ish bucks that could have gone toward another box set.
  13. Hey, since you're watching this thread, are the proxy rules going to be only on cheap models + unreleased stuff? I was hoping to proxy our totems. Also I'm getting my book 2 this weekend so, it's important to know if I should be integrating book 2 stuff and coming up with proxies.
  14. This the one at Hobby Bunker? Last I heard it was gonna be 40ss (I'm sure you have better info than me since you hang out there). Oh well. Ya most likely Faith will be running Perdita and Ortegas+exey and stalkers with Lady J added in maybe an extra stalker. Either that or she'll be running something totally different from another faction. We're close to having a brawl crew in each of the 4 main factions.
  15. They look great but, whether they're worth it or not comes down to your skill level as a modeler and how much time vs. money you have to spend on stuff other than your actual crews. All my bases are custom. Ortegas-Coblestone strrets made from tiny bricks from a hobby shop Non Ortega Guild-sand Ressurs largely undecided though I do have some gravestone bits from reaper. Kirai-still in box but, I plan to try cutting up a sushi rolling mat. Ramos-round peices cut from a cheap peice of terrain for a tank game inside 1/2" lock rings (4/$.50 in the home depot electronics section) that look like gears and perfectly fill a 30mm base. Rasputina-White foamboard with snow flock Neverborn-Green flock and treestumps from a model train store (note to self pick up more soon.)
  16. I had 1 pretty deck for my wife and used a standard deck of playing cards till I found out a secound Malifaux deck was a requirment to henchmandom.
  17. I had a demoee use tina the last time I demo'd. She's a good example of minions having synergy.
  18. and if so she's just an alternate hog whisperer figure so you can use the existing card as is or take a picture of the gremlinette and glue it to a whisperer.
  19. Gunpowder saint hit pretty close to the truth though , as he said, he's biased by being a guild player. Disclaimer: I don't have book 2 and am holding of on reading most book 2 threads till I have it. Guild is the best faction to be loyal to as it has a huge level of compatability between different masters and minions. Ressers are next in line every master branchs out from their box for versatility and of course you basically need the whole faction to run Nico to his full potential. Then you have the rest in Arcanists, sure everyone wants Cerebus sometimes for speed and sometimes Ramos wants a couple Gamin for attacking hard targets but Ramos needs mechanical spiders, Tina needs cult of december and Marcus needs beasts. In Neverborn Lillith needs Nephalim and maybe Waldgeists and Pandi generally wants more Wp targeting models Zoraida brings the faction together somewhat as she runs well with just about anything. Outcasts are the biggest argument for going by individual master. You need alot of models for Leveticus and this will probably lead you to eventually get Ressers or Ramos. The Viktorias need a ton of mercenaries which will give more options to all of your crews while Somer'teeth needs a crew that's basically useless to everyone else.
  20. Here's an outside the box tactic that works well for my wife. Make Perdita the most tempting target; put her forward center and use bullet bending to force confrontation. Here's the twist, make sure she's far enough away to require a walk followed by a charge to hit, so it takes Lillith's whole activation to get one attack. It's CB 7 vs. Df 8 so even odds of hitting. If the initial flip goes you're way then just match whatever she does, cheat if on of she cheats spend a ss if she spends a ss. She may get a hit in but you'll survive and you have a ton of firepower focused on Perdita just unload since you can cheat low cards if you're going to hit Perdita and Perdita herself has a Cb 7 and her ranged attack in melee.
  21. So, here's my executioner with some extra bits from 40k orcs. Very happy with him overall.
  22. Short but popular, last tourney I went to had 8 players and there were 2 Perditas and a Zoraida. The next tourney is a brawl and there will be more obey than before at least one of the Perdita players is playing Perdita/Lady J and the Z player will be running Zoraida/Lillith. I was playing Lillith and I'll be running either Zoraida/Lillith, Seamus/Haemlin (don't have my book 2 yet for planning, or Seamus/Mcmourning with a minion Haemlin.
  23. He's ok for casual games and tourneys where you can change your list. I wouldn't run him against any crew with obey though.
  24. Sounds like a good plan. Wanna give some details on that 3rd list?
  25. I have an idea for using a few of the lampposts like the ones Wyrd sells but I only need 1 or 2. If somebody got them and had an extra I'd love to buy or trade for it.
