  1. hi all sorry for the delay but here's a couple of pics of what I have done currently. I'm hoping to get the core figures done by the end of the weekend for the Executioner I thought I'd add a little hamster bedding to his claws to make it look like he'd just unsitched a poor puppet
  2. Glad you all like them will post a pic of the next 4 tomorrow (when they are finished)
  3. hi all it's been a while since I posted on the forum but i picked up Puppet Wars on Saturday and thought I would try and paint up one or 2 of the models and get back into the Malifaux vibe so here's my first 4 for you to see Sorry for the blurry image but you get the idea. the bases are done using coffee stirrers washed with GW Devlan Mud and varnished which I think worked well, they really are lovely miniatures and have enjoyed painting them up. will post more later cheers Mike
  4. Well as we are sharing I managed to finish my Peacekeeper today so here's a quick pic
  5. good idea and the fact it's a really cool figure helps to sway me as well
  6. thanks for the advice, I've had a read through of the Sonnia tactica as well and I think getting the Lucius boxset is the way to go cheers Mike
  7. Hi all I’m just returning to Malifaux after a bit of an absence and am working on my second gang, I picked up the Sonnia Criid boxset a while ago which I have finally finished painting and am now doing a few reinforcements to bulk out the gang and also give me some options in bigger games. So far I have a peacekeeper and the 2 guild guards to add to the Witch hunter Box but I’m thinking of my next steps for the gang. I could just try and increase the guard options maybe get the Drill Sergeant and another pack of guards or even the Lucius boxset or I could go the other way and bulk out the constructs and get the Hoffman boxset and the mechanical attendant So does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on the best way to extend the gang? Should I go human or constructs? or is there another way I have missed Cheers Mike
  8. I just spent 4 hours assembling mine yesterday so I feel your pain This is what I did :- Have a look at the images on the Wryd site they are better than the ones on the box http://wyrd-games.net/shop/product.php?productid=16294&cat=258&page=1 Then clean up all parts especially the 4 areas on the main body where the arms join Assemble the arms and leave to dry, check the connector between the arm and the harpoon the 2 cogs on the join go to the front Attach the steam vents to the main body, that’s the bit at the top with 2 funnels The legs attach to the underhull piece (thats the other section that was on the sprue with the funnels) and pin them as well you may find supporting the underhull on some blu-tack helps with this stage don’t do what I did and attach the underhull to the main body before attaching the legs, it’s best to attach the legs to the underhull on its own Once the legs are dry attach them to a base, again pin them to the base for strength Go and have a cup of coffee and leave it all to dry Then attach body to underhull, this is fairly simple and for strength I would pin these together Have another cup of coffee and leave to dry Then attach the 4 arms, the harpoon arm will need to be pinned, the rest might be ok Go and remove all the superglue you have on your fingers and think about how you are going to paint it Good luck Cheers Mike
  9. headcase2's advice is spot on, I did similar for my Vik and have had no problems it's also worth getting superglue activator and use that to set the inital glue bound when you first attach the hand (may need a second person to apply the activator whilst you hold the model and the arm in place)
  10. brilliant idea painting the Waldgeist to match the terrain, really makes them stand out, I mean blend in, I mean, ah you know what I mean nice paint job and good to see the story line starting, but what happens next?
  11. Really nice looking buildings, loooking forward to see how these progress
  12. I thought it was part of the board that hadn't been flocked yet :embarasse my bad
  13. hi all as you know I'm a bit a sucker for nice terrain adn my mining town idea is coming on leaps and bounds see http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=13358 so obviously I'm looking for the next idea for a board and I found this link on Tabletop gaming news http://www.wargameterrain.co.uk/ have a look at the cellers and sewers, they are genius, especially as you can put buildings and roads on top. I'm gonna have to get some of these and see what they are like
  14. really like this idea, I'd do something like it myself but I've nearly filled up my garage and study and attic with terrain so it's not possible at the moment unless I build an extension anyway, it's looking really good so keep us updated Mike
  15. I went for a Mat-O-War mat (in Beige) these are great as you can over spray them with paint to customise it so all did was get a 4 x 4 mat and marked one side of the mat 6" in to create a 3 x 3 area so I can play a small game on one side of the mat and use the other for bigger games http://matowar.com/catalog/index.php
  16. I've just ordered a Western building from TSS as I want to see how it matches sizewise with the shacks I have already and also HPSoundwave is correct that you can have part of the board with western style building and use shacks on the outskirts of the town I'll let you know how I get on Mike
  17. oh god what have I started now : anyway, all thank you for all the comments, I'm glad you like the mins, they are going to be used in a game for the first time on Thursday so wish me luck. Mike
  18. hi all as promised here is Hans I'll be moving onto a Witch hunters crew next, but that won't be for a week or so as I have to finish some figures for freebooters fate first cheers Mike
  19. I like the use of the red colour to bind the whole unit together works well
  20. I got them from Pardulon http://pardulon-models.com/product_i...anty-town.html check out the first few pages of this thread as you can see them in unpainted
  21. Seamus looks amazing, I can see what you mean about the copycat killer, it has come out dark how about changing the colour of the top hat, or base it on a really light base to give some contrast and I love the idea of adding hair to Sybelle, looks so much better
  22. Hi all I thought I would share some pictures of my Viktoria crew, it’s taken a while to get this far due to an injury in my right arm but so far so good 1) the crew arrive at their holiday villa 2) Vik 1 searches for the bar 3) Vik 2 heads for the night club 4) Taelor spots a shoe shop 5) Johan tries to attract the waiters attention 6) Bishop gets the waiters attention and calls him over 7) Gunslinger wants to know why he is left with all the luggage, but at least he's made a new freind Currently I’m working on the Hans figure which should be finished by tomorrow, then I’m going to start on a Witch Hunters crew. Although I’ll probably add a few more figures to this crew to bulk it out a bit Hope you like them sorry for the awful pictures, comments (both good and bad) always welcome Cheers Mike
  23. After what seems like an eternity I’ve finally finished stage 1 of making a mining town So far I have a few small buildings and some fences and boxes and stuff Next up I have to do some scenic’s, things like rock formations, scrubs, tree’s etc, by which time my second order of buildings and more fences should have arrived, then all I have to do is some hills and a mine entrance and it’ll be done I’ll keep you informed of progress Cheers Mike
  24. it's not a bad price as it comes with the foam, and has many other uses. however as the game only needs a few figures I think I'll go for one of the small Pack Mini bags Mike
