  1. I am a pro photographer, so I am biased toward high end gear, but if you can go with a body with interchangeable lenses (like a nikon d200 and a good macro lens) you can get very good deals at bhphotovideo.com
  2. Starting next sat at 11 am we are haing a malifaux league. In honor of march maddness, we are doing 25 SS, bracket style league. Depending on the number of participants we may have to play more than one game the final week. Location: Tates gaming Satellite 4588 N University Lauderhill, Fl 33351 Here are the rules: 25 SS lists Pick a faction and stick with it. Use any masters from that faction you wish Pairing style depends on number of entrants. I expect to do brackets style with a 'losers bracket' if we have enough, otherwise its single elimination Be on time. Games start at 11 AM Rules / Errata as per mini rulebook (Same as in books + online documents) No entry fee!!! Prize support depends on number of entrants Get on out to Tates and get your Malifaux on. Cheat your fate or lose your soul!!! Contact Erik @ szpyraphotography@gmail.com to lock in your place!
  3. I got the wife a Spirits of Vengeance Box Set. And thus my loses at her hands continue
  4. Sadly, I agree with you. The fans want to see the guys from '98 on the ice but don't like losing in 2010. And Modano may have 2 years left, but for what? To play the third line?
  5. Why not take the initiative and start a thread just like the opponent finder. All you have to do is copy the post above yours and add your LGS' info. I'll start: USA FLORIDA - Orlando - Rhubarb Games FLORIDA - Orlando - Coliseum of Games FLORIDA - Lauderhill - Tate's Gaming Satellite
  6. In my experience, game demos at the booths are usually walk up affairs. I am pretty sure if you want a demo of Malifaux, you'll have no problem finding someone to do it!

  8. I had a demo at the LGS and found it to be a terrible system and implementation. The figs seemed almost more like an afterthought. (At one point it was three of us starting at the screen saying ok...what happened ?!?) It really resembled more of an RTS than a table top wargame. Perhaps I am becoming a grognard, but the most technology I want in my gaming is an army construction software (at most).
  9. All I know is the Panthers have their Ice Dancers tryouts soon which means one thing: in very short order I will be in some Caribbean paradise with 20 beautiful half-naked hockey cheerleaders
  10. Welcome! Check out this link to find players in your area: http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=6986&highlight=opponent
  11. Indeed! For our next meeting I shall have to bring offerings to appease the rules spirit! Not burnt offerings through. That clearly means no-bake chocolate-oatmeal cookies!
  12. Screw cookies....I'll take a steak and a glass of vino from St. Elmo's !!!
  13. A good turnout that I hope steadily improves in the coming weeks. NEXT DEMO NIGHT: TUES JUNE 20, 5:30 PM!!
  14. Loki

NM, I'll send as a PM.

  15. A Demo Evening with Lady Justice! When: 7/13/2010 5:30PM - ? Where: Tate's Gaming Satellite 4588 N. 16. Wouldn't matter if they did...the unfortunate reality is that Tallon severely hamstrung them cap-wise I am pretty sure they were about 1 injury from being where Calgary was. I grabbed this off of Globe and Mail, "According to capgeek.com’s archives, Chicago finished 2009-10 with less than $300,000 in available space under the cap – before bonuses are added in. The only two Blackhawks regulars with bonuses on their contracts this season were Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, who had a combined $5-million of them available. We heard yesterday from TSN’s James Duthie that Toews earned a $1.3-million bonus for winning the Conn Smythe Trophy, which puts Chicago over the cap at least $1-million. What wasn’t revealed was the fact that both players hit all of their entry-level bonuses this season, meaning an extra $5-million in addition to their base salaries against the cap. It’s exceptionally complicated to calculate exactly how far over the Blackhawks now are, but in looking at the numbers and talking to a few people today, I believe it to be about $4-million. Teams are only allowed to exceed the salary cap due to bonuses and long-term injury exemptions and only then by a maximum of 7.5 per cent. Chicago came very, very close to that mark this season." Judging by his small-gain strategy that he seems to be employing in Florida, I think he has learned his lesson
  17. To the everyday person, I would think the Miners & Steamfitters Union is probably the closest they see as "good". An organization that fights for the "little guy"... The Guild keep the peace but they do it through an iron fist...
  18. 2nd'ed. I think you have a great idea in the "Freed Soul" model, but as far as needing a "good faction" to get more people into the game...well, anyone who would say "why did you buy that crap" is probably not going to enjoy the game anyway. They certainly wouldn't like the fluff nor would they like playing against the other factions. I am not saying that I like leaving money on the table, but sooner or later you have to define what your game will and won't be and what demographic you want to go after. I think that Eric and Nate have done an amazing job with that.
  19. It's official, I want a neverborn dog figure that can fly named hosehead
  20. Take off you hosers! Have a great day, eh!
  21. Wow, very nicely done. Especially like the bases!
  22. OK, so there is no Double Secret Probation - but what gives on the Errata? I see that Eric has put up one document that purports to be the comprehensive errata and then there is an "extra errata" thread being added to by Weird Sketch. Any chance that we can merge the two and create a "living errata" doc that covers everything as it changes?
  23. I'm just waiting for George R.R. Martin to drop the "Dragons" book from the game of thrones series. That guy is worse with deadlines than Fantasy Flight Games
  24. The wife and I are probably going to make the trip up to check out the new Potter area in Islands of Adventure in a few weeks, which means we will be free for a game on Sunday on the way home. I'll drop you a line and maybe we can find a time to meet for a game.
  25. nice! I'd settle for being able to make buildings like that to put them on :peep:
