  1. I think its very likely that there will be a 4th edition at some point. The 2 alternatives are the game ends (definetly worse) or the current edition keeps getting larger and larger. the nature of the game is a complex game, and as you increase options you will increase the learnign burden on anyone that wants to play. I think one of the key things they tried in 3rd edition was to reduce hiring options, and so reduce your complexity in crew creation compared to 2nd edition. I don't have an answer. I can say that people are probably going to be very against the MTG model, since that is worse than the current complaint that "new releases are better than old models" since it would actually invalidate them, rather than just make them a bad choice. Before I started playing Malifaux I had no understanding on the production of figures, distributuion and even shelf space/SKU issues. I have done playtesting over the years, and I can say that none of them have had the intent to produce more powerful models than before, even if the outcome of them was that. Wyrd have produced several simpler and more contained games. None of them have been as popular. On the important question - Collodi,. Whilst I like the concept of the character, every rules iteration of it has been one of my least favorite figures to face or use. So if I never have to see a collodi again, I can't say I'd be upset. Of course I'm sure that there is a possible version of Collodi out there that I would like, but his style overlaps with too many other neverborn at the moment so I don't see a huge reason to bring him back. (I think out of the first edition henchmen I own 2 Lucius, 4 Kaeris, 2 Mollly 1 Vonschill and 1 Ophelia and no Collodi. At the end of 2nd edition I had every master but 4, one of which was collodi. His loss does not trouble me. Out of the 10 dead mans hand models he is 10th on the list of ones I'd want returned, certainly behind the electrical creation, and even behind the marionettes. )

  3. I think 1 got 14 ( ressers). ( if you've done what I did and search ashes in the app then you will also get models like ashes and dust). Tt do seem to have the fewest but guild and ressers seem to get their starter sets, and there is the bayou Jockies and Outcasts have the halfblood/asylum. Also I think each dual faction TT master got its new models in the other faction. Every keyword got new toys and every every faction gained new versatile options. Other than that things aren't even, but they never have been.
  4. There are a few differences between an attack action and a tactical action. In addition to attack actions having a resist, you also can't perform an attack action on yourself. Likewise you wouldn't get to take advantage of the adversary condition if you were doing a sooth soul action because that states attack actions. Its not an attack action, so Lost love is not attacking and therefore is not an attacking model . I would say therefore they wouldn't suffer vengeance.

Triggers don't normally rely on success in the duel to occur, but the default timing of a trigger (that which it uses if it doesn't have another timing) is after succeeding, whcih does require you to win the duel. When resolving and after resolving triggers will both work if you lose the duel. (So a trigger that is "when resolving reduce the damage suffered by 2" will work if you lose the duel and suffer damage). Hope that answers the question for you
  6. Im not sure what you are talking about. The core rules tell us how to use them as leaders. There is also henchman hardcore, which is explained in the gaining grounds documents. I can't think of any other henchmen variations, but I could have forgotten them.
  7. Can do. I would say a haberdashery is a type of shop that sells fabrics and sewing stuff, and they are still around now as well as existing before the old West. I assume " I didn't hear a bell" is related to carrying on until the referee stops it, the bell makes me think of boxing, but football often tells people to "play to the whistle". I think shadow lark and black birds are named after gangs of street urchins, but I can't say why I think that.
  8. The replace rule has been erratad several times, and this is one part that has changed. Currently you will add all the conditions from all the models you are replacing, so if you have focus +1 on each corephyee then the Duet will get both and so end with focus +2.
  9. I will probably regret this, but the problem I have with this is that the zombie can count as a corpse marker for the targeting and/or the resolution according to its ability. If you are counting it as a marker for the resolution, then the poisoning action doesn't do anything, because poison doesn't deal damage to markers, and markers can't be killed. So I don't think you can suddenly switch the zombie to count as a marker after the damage is dealt. (this is based on the view that markers don't count as models, and so if you are counting it as a corpse marker you aren't counting it as a model, which isn't expressly stated. I used to use a similar logic that if you were counted as an enemy model you by default weren't friendly, but the FAQ said otherwise in that case, so it could be faulty logic).

I think you're right, if you're treating the zombie as a model for the action resolution (as the action can't target markers), then you can't switch it to act as a marker just as it is removed from damage. The FAQ doesn't explicitly say this, but does imply this by referring to what happens when you remove the zombie "whilst treating it as a marker".
  11. Yes. Each model can only gain one burning each action from pigs on fire, but multiple actions can cause multiple burning.
  12. Its not the Underbrush that is dealing the damage, its still Titania. Yes, models that are unaffected by underbrush markers can still suffer extra damage due to the into the thorns trigger.
  13. He can shoot as if he wasn't engaged. It does apply to him as well. It only happens at the end of an action, so you are right deadly pursuit would not cause it. Shove aside will happen during an action, so it can cause this to happen. Herd 'em does cause an action But it doesn't matter how many times you moved through the model that action, it won't ever gain more than burning +1 from pigs of fire The pig minion must be a higher cost than the target and it must also be a size that is equal to the size of the target + the number of burning models moved through. So to turn a swine cursed into a war pig you must run through 0 models with burning. Hope that answers the questions
  14. It is one for each attached head but titans are restricted to 3 assets, so you can only have a maximum of 3 snapping heads at a time.
  15. I agree, treating them as a model that has less than half health does not allow you to treat them as a model with 2 or less health. So a miner on 5 health does not have 2 or less health, even if it is counted as being at less than half health ( it also isn't counted as having maximum health 11+, just in case you were wondering)
  16. That sounds like an error in the app. I don't know much about that, but the rules if the game have you both playing the same strategy and it remains the same for the whole game.

  18. Welcome back. Keywords are a much bigger thing this edition, almost being a mini faction. When you hire a Crew you can hire models that share a keyword with your leader, and models that match your faction and are versatile, and models that just match your faction at 1 ss more. With what you have the obvious crew would be a Pandora one, using candy, Kade and sorrows and then a mixture of doppelganger, angel eyes, the scion of black blood ( Maurice) and blood wretches to make points/customise for the mission. Your other leader options are Nekima, lilith and Barabos but you would want to get young nephlim and mature nephlim really. I would suggest getting a few games with what you have got before you go for buying new stuff as you probably want to decide what keyword you want to focus on.
  19. The faq (Section 1 question .3) says that if an action ignores line of sight then it does not draw lines through concealing terrain, but it does remind us that other ways to gain concealment would still apply.
  20. You can do that, but its the opposing players choice to discard or not, and if they don't discard, you get to not do some things " when that model activates". There aren't too many crews that will apply bad things to your models that trigger when they activate, so most players will happily let you have the chance to not regenerate and so not have to discard.

There are 4 models with chasing fate, 1 for each suit, so they have put the suit following the title to remind players which suit that model has, as other than the suit, the wording is the same. A few other abilities have similar formatting where they have the changed word in brackets after the name, ( Misery and shouting orders are a couple of other examples of thus formatting)
  22. Ramos is generally not played as he is a dead mans hand master. Due to the hiring change this edition, rasputina lists largely contain her thematic models, although you probably want to look to get kaltgiests ( which are in the box with her title alternative) as they act as mobile ice pillars.
  23. Vivid nightmares was added to the card as an errata because lucid dreams was too good without some form of control added to it. So it is intended to reduce the power of lucid dreams Lucid dreams will still improve your deck composition throughout the game, but now at a much lower level than was possible before. So the main use of Vivid nightmares is to stop your opponent quitting in disgust because you have a deck that only contains severe cards...
  24. It doesn't have a game purpose. It's intended for Parsons base as set dressing, but if you wanted to put it on its own base and use it as a scheme marker you certainly could.
  25. I think they do different things, so its not a case that you can build a list and just choose between them. Personally I prefer workers champion over rage machine, but kang then really needs your crew in a certain area, and with a supply of scrap. It also gives some activation order considerations. With the new GG out, it might be a case that the pound to dust on the pork chop is very useful because there seems to be more scheme markers out there ( although will need to see how it actually turns out). I probably am more likely to run gamin with Kang, both for more scrap, and the chance for increased mobility. ( the pork chop does also like more mobility, but has some more tricks self built in).
