  1. I had the opposite occur. I had to call them once when the wrong tray got shipped with my bag and they were very appologetic and sent the correct tray out immediately.
  2. Hellojohn is correct. If you are playing a Brawl sized game then 2 is acceptible. Haven't had much Brawl play so I forget that. As far as trade, I have a Mortimer the graverobber that would fit nicely in your Ressurectionist crew. I also have a Nicodem. But, that would be a second master that you would only use in a Brawl sized game. I'd be willing to do either one for the voodoo doll. I would assume the teddy will remain in your crew for Brawl sized games. But, if you decide to let him go, let me know and I'll find some more stuff to trade for him. I have a single rotten belle and a single zombie samurai punk I could throw in with one of the two above (they were thrown into another trade. Not sure why the person had two single minis floating around)
  3. I've done Reaper, GW, Sabol and even my own toolbox cases with magnetic bases. I will definately invest in the Battle Foam. I've had my Battle Foam case for 2 years now. It's perfect. Fits in the required size bin for airlines and has never failed me. The foam is still in excellent shape. I travel a lot and my figs have to come with. My Sabol case got crushed and damaged some figs, GW foam disolved for some reason. Reaper....foam is garbage. Case is pretty good. But, I will not buy a case from another company until they can prove they put more thought into their cases and the people buying them than Battle Foam has. I spend too much time assembling and painting my figs to put them at risk and I'm ALWAYS confidant that my figs will arrive safe at whatever destination I'm going to. The price is justified. I will grant you that the case is a little big for most Malifaux players as they don't have more than maybe 3 crews. Me, I'm a collector. So, I will have them all at some point and already have 8 crews. So, it's fantastic for me. In fact, I will probably sell some unused 40K to afford to get some custom trays done as I love their Space Hulk trays. Those fiddly little parts on the Terminators have survived a TON of carrying around in those trays. I don't think they would have in anything else. But, it's not for everyone and I understand being on a budget. However, if you're judging without having seen one in person, I would do whatever I could to check one out. They are the best on the market hands down.
  4. Holy Schnike! That is awesome work my friend. Hope mine come out half as good.
  5. Thanks for the compliment. Everyone should feel free to use the idea. It's not copywrited so it's not stealing lol. The bits I used are a barrel set from Games Workshop, some ruins that were included in the previous edition of 40K and a camping set from Reaper. But, one could just as easily make some sculpy rocks or such.
  6. Welcome. macgowan answered most of your topics and pointed out a few things. I am still in need of a teddy and a voodoo doll. So, if you end up not using them and can't exchange them for whatever reason, let me know and mayhap we can trade something.
  7. Okay. I know it's been done before. But, I took a slightly different spin on things. Rather than trying to attach the magnets to the spiders themselves, I found pieces of scrap that could easily hold a strong rare-earth magnet and then pinned the arachnid to the scrap pieces. Then I drilled a hole for the magnet mounts in the scrap pies and the individual bases and the swarm bases. They turned out pretty good in my mind. The only thing I wish is that I would have been a little more patient and took more time when I planned the placement of the spiders on the scrap and the scrap on the swarm base. They look a little funky. but, I wanted to give the spiders a scuttling/swarming look so I have them on the sides of things. I should have mounted the scrap pieces first on the swarm base with magnets to find a placement that worked and then pinned the spider on. But, I will probably do a few more swarms. So, I will take my lessons and apply them next time. These guys are ready for priming and painting. Sorry about the crap pics. I only had my camera phone. I'll try and take some better pics once I get them painted.
  8. Glenview ain't Chicago. We got all kinds.
  9. Not necessarily. Black Sun Games isn't far from evanston.
  10. Greetings all. I am very new to the game (played once). But, am very excited about the game and am looking to get a firm grasp on the rules by playing lots and lots of games. So, ifyou're in the Chicago area and have your tuesdays free (evenings or afternoons), I can meet you at Black Sun Games . I'm usually there by 6pm. but, if you need earlier, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Currently, I have the following: Guild -Lady Justice Boxed Set -Ortega Family Boxed Set -Sonia Boxed set -Red Fate Deck Neverborn -Zorida Boxed Set -Lilith Boxed Set -Pandora Boxed Set -Purple Fate Deck Arcanists -Ramos Boxed set x2 - Engine Joss x2 -2 extra Arachnid Swarms -2 Brass Arachnids -Blue Fate Deck Ressurectionists -1 Rotten Belle -Mortimer the Gravedigger -Nicodem the Undertaker -1 Punk Zombie Outcasts -1 Convict Gunslinger And am in the process of trading for more and terrain to suit. So, if you want to try out any of the above, let me know and I'll make sure to bring them. Cheers all. Hope to meet some of you soon.
  11. As an aging gamer....I appreciate the cards just the way they are. Nice clear text at a font I can read and all the rules are there.....pure awesome in my book. One of the reasons I don't play WarMachine is the cards. Not the only reason mind you. But, a big one.
  12. Howdy chris. I'm at Black Sun Games on tuesdays after 6 usually. If you're on the forums there, I'm Shadowopal there as well. I'm just starting as well and would love to get a bunch of games in so I can apply to be a henchman for the store. I think the game has awesome potential and I'm started on collecting the set.
  13. Very bright! I like that. The red hair on the Mature is interesting. Not where I would have gone with it. But, it kinda works the more I look at it. I have to agree. The sword is a bit off for me. It really steals the whole mini's focus. I realize it's a big freaking sword. But, I would have gone more subtle on the color scheme on it. But, that's just me. The team has a great cohesion and I think you've done a great job. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Nice choice on the base. Very evocative and fitting with the fluff.
  15. Like em a lot. I'm about ready to assemble and paint my set too. So, we'll see how mine turn out. But, I definately like the colors you got going there.
  16. Not a bad start. The only recommendation I would make is a wash of either brown or purple for the recesses. Straight red color scheme just doesn't pop right for gore. My usual goto for gore shading is purple. don't ask why. I just like it lots. I copied the technique from a guy a looooooong time ago and have used it since.
  17. Greetings and Salutations all. I bumped into this freeky game lately and have fallen in love. Finally picked up the rulebook last week and am in the process of selling off some dust-collecting 40K figs in order to procure some of these fine minis. I am at Black Sun Games in Chicago every tuesday night. So, if you're in the area, post a message on the BSG forums or shoot me an email and I'll be happy to have a pick up game and chat. Cheers all.
  18. Agreed. Most owners have catalogs form dozens of companies. If they don't give them a hard time. It's part of staying in business in this Amazon driven era.
