  1. Beautiful work!! I love it, you sir have some mad skills.
  2. Cool, go for and post lots of pics. Thanks. The line a friend of mine used to get me into the game was, "Come on man, you like to build terrain, lots of opportunities to do so." I guess it worked. lol Here is my latest piece, nice quaint little graveyard. Foam core walls and grave markers on a plastic base. I tried to make it look like it has been forgotten and weather worn.
  3. Amazing idea and work. I really like the way the paint and grass mixture looks.
  4. I really like the way she turned out, she is subtle and striking at the same time. BTW: If you don't mind sharing, what was your recipe for the flesh on her?
  5. Thank you guys for the kind words. Thanks, originally I was going to use a tent, but my wife suggested a bed roll. It sounded cool so I went with it. lol I finished up my Creepy Structure today. I just went with a odd stone pillar with a glowing gem in the center. The grey is actually a little darker than it looks in the pics. It is made from some foam core and a left over blood counter with a little flock. I hope you all like it. Thanks for looking. topish view
  6. Those are great. I would love to play on those boards.
  7. I love it. That is a great looking piece you have there.
  8. Thanks guys. I have done a little more work on them today. I planned out how I would like each one to look and got all of their bases drawn out. I just need to grab some more glue today and I will get started on the creepy structure.
  9. As a avid Warhammer 40k player I acquired quite a collection of terrain, but once I started playing Malifaux I quickly realized how lacking my terrain collection was for this game. So lately I have been filling gaps in my terrain collection. After making a bunch of card stock buildings I thought I was done. But I was wrong. I played two games the other night and for one we used 2x2 post-it to represent a soulstone vein and in the other one we represented an ancient monument with a bottle of Tylenol. lol I decided this had to change. So I have embarked on a mission to make all of the special terrain pieces we will need so we wont have to use random things as proxies. These pieces are not meant to be master pieces, just good solid representation that look the part on the table. I included one of my wife's gremlins (since he was handy) for a sense of scale. The first one I did was the Ancient Monument. While looking for a base for it I discovered the bottom off of the "eggs" you get out of the toy machines is the right size. It is made out of one of those and a piece of foam core, nice and simple. Next up was the Soulstone Vein. For it I made a 2x2 base from plastic card and three extra soulstones (of the type my wife and I use). I tried to make it look like the ground has eroded from around them and they have been "pushed" to the surface. I know these are bigger than the soulstones in the fluff, but you can't miss them on the table. Close up I just finished up my third piece, a camp site. Just a simple little fire pit and a old bed roll. Thanks for looking and I hope you like them. I will post more here in this thread as I finish them. -Prime-

Now that is pretty sweet. Great work.
  11. The Scales of Justice doesn't look anything like what I expected and I am not sure how I feel about it yet, gotta see it in person before I condemn it. Poltergeist is a beautiful model, not quite how I picture a poltergeist, but with a bluish/white paint job I think it will be perfect. And the Stempunk Abominations, LOVE EM!!! I foresee those in my future.
  12. That does look rather interesting.
  13. Nice work!! That is one creepy looking kid. *shudder*
  14. Thanks. I wasn't sure how it would turn out but I wanted to give painting tartan a try. It's not perfect, but for my first try I am happy with it. the base is 3" across at six points. I did not make it perfectly round for looks sake. I see what you mean about the eyes, but they do not look like that when looking at the mini. Maybe it is because the pics are much bigger than the actual mini? *shrug*
  15. Thanks for the comments guys, I really do appreciate them. Maybe I'll try to tone down the sword some. It has some highlighting on it that got washed out in the pic, along the sharp edges. On a another note, I made up an illusionary forest today. The base is made from plastic card that I made to look like my bases and the trees are from a model railroading Bag O' Trees. The trees are removable to make it possible to pass minis through it. The forest. Disassembled. And with a tot for a size comparison.
  16. I was at our local con last October and some of my friends got hooked on Malifaux. I took a break from miniature gaming and I am just not getting back into it and after almost 6 months I have picked up the brush again and threw some paint at some minis. I have got my first starter crew all painted up and ready to go. I am starting with a Lilith box set and plan to pick up a couple young Nephilim for incase the tots decide to grow up. I am not sure what I plan to add to the crew next though, thinking about a Waldgeist or maybe a hooded rider. I have played two games with them before I painted them. Both games were against a Ortega box set. The first game was a straight up "kill em all" which I lost. The second was for victory points and I won it. Over all I am quite pleased with how they have performed and I am sure I will get happier with em as I play more with them and remember to use all of their abilities. lol Any ways, enough rambling, here are the pictures. A few of the lighter colors got wahed out in the pics, I am still trying to get the hang of my new flash. Thanks for looking. A group shot. My Lilith. My Mature Nephilim My tots.
  17. Sweet job on those. They look very realistic. Well done.
  18. Very cool. I like the dull colors with the slight red glow to the eyes.
  19. Looks great!!! The only recommendation I could make is to maybe give the rusted areas a wash to make them look a little more realistic? I would love to play a game on that table.
  20. I understand that, because it does seem rather broken since it defeats the purpose of initiative for NO cost, not even a (0). If it would confine them to the 6" from activated model, like the errata states for companion, instead of half the board it would seem inline with the game, but as is it seems to be too much of an advantage to an already powerful crew or any crew for that matter.
  21. Cool deal, thanks for the explaination, that one makes sense. Thanks again:)
  22. Can you give the page number in the book or errata for this rule. I have looked through the rule book and errata and can not find this explanation. The only one I can find is the one below that states that models MUST be with in 6" of the activated model to receive the benefit of companion. Maybe I have just overlooked it. In the Rule Book under companion, yes I see it working the way you describe, the problem being that the errata replaces the description in the rule book. Sorry if it seems like I am being a stickler for this, but I need to see it in black and white before I can swallow that it allows the congo line. It comes from too many years of playing Warhammer 40K in a tournament environment. I need to see it in RAW instead of RAI. I need to see it in writing where it gives the (family) the exception to work out side of the rules as written. One way it would work as written is once you activate the first model and declare that you are using companion you measure and give the benefit to all models with in range, "6" of activated model". Any models outside that range would not have the benefit of family, but if a model is out side of the 6" range, but with in 6" of a model with companion family that is currently under the benefit of of it, then that model could then use the companion ability on it's activation to give companion to that model and any others within range. The downside is that in a tournament you would have to make sure you remembered to state you were doing this or you opponent might remember that you did not.
  23. After reading the errata I have to disagree with this. The errata reads, example: I activate a model with the companion family ability. I use that ability. I measure from him to see which models would qualify for the companion family benefit. If 3 other models are with in 6" of him, they receive it. If 2 models are with in 6.1+" away from him they do not. This makes much more sense to me than the "conga line of death" scenario. Under the description in the rule book I could see it working to allow the congo line, but under the errata I don't think it would work that way. My $0.02 and how I read it.
  24. I have heard nothing but great things about that game. I may have to pick it up in the future.
