  4. I am trying to get a head count for everyone going. Winter sucks for a lot of us up here in WI for some reason. I will let you know soon.
  5. Wow has this been a huge misunderstanding locally. People automatically flip to the Dual Faction section of the book (page 72) which reads: Some models have two faction symbols shown on the associated stat cards. These models count as both factions for the purposes of hiring; however they may only have Upgrades from the announced Faction. They see that and assume that this blurb is all that is needed for Dual Faction Hiring. So if you read this as written you can hire from both factions and you can only get the Upgrades from the announced faction. Keep in mind they should read the WHOLE page but we all know how players can be sometimes....
  6. Ha! Found you on here!!!! YOU CAN'T HIDE FROM ME!!!! (It also doesn't help you used your channel name as your logo). -Tim K

  16. Join us Friday night at 42 Lounge in Milwaukee for some Malifaux action! Food! Beer! Friends! MALIFAUX!!!! Starts at 6PM and goes until bar time. Obviously this is a 21 and over event. Here is the address: 326 E Mason Street, Milwaukee, WI See you there!!!
  17. This is Tim K. I will definitely be there with some of the milwaukee crew.
  18. I post this simply to ask the subject's question. I really want to know what your thoughts are on this. LET'S KEEP THIS CONSTRUCTIVE! I don't want a flame war starting. I will add to this by posting an article by David Sirlin, a top-level Street Fighter player and game designer. What does this have to do with Malifaux you may ask? Well the concepts are all the same, just replace Street Fighter with Malifaux and whatever moves he lists with a tactic that bothers you. Read it over, think on it, and respond. Thanks everyone! http://www.sirlin.net/articles/playing-to-win-part-1.html
  19. This is what I needed to hear everyone. There is a reason my first two made me out to be a douchebag "that guy" player. Is the rule itself still a bit shaky to me? Yes but what games don't have them. This exact rules exploit came up in a game (with the mentioned examples) and unfortunately our area is flooded with lots of "that guy" that are getting kicks out of playing and breaking games. Many of them come from a long time of playing games from a particular workshop...
  20. Exactly. I am a competitive player but I have seen too many of "that guy" over the years and the last thing i want to see is a new edition of a game we all enjoy become flooded with "that guy" exploits, ruining it for new players.
  21. Keep in mind I do not mention it to be jerk. I do mot play that way but having a rule this precise will lead to people playing this way just for the win. Especially if all they want to do is trounce new players. I do not want to see people rage quit over nitpicking and technicalities because someone wans to play exploits. Using this same method I could have 5 height one fences between myself and my target, who are both height 2, and cause the game to slow down so we can measure out the 1" to see if he actually had cover even though there is plenty of terrain between us.
  22. No problem. I will just run nothing but shooting crews and fritter away the time as I constantly ask to see if my opponent is within an inch of cover.
  23. So basically you ONLY get cover if you are within one inch of terrain? What is the point of having so much terrain on the board? Why not just have nothing but walls like a maze? ---------- Post added at 07:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:05 PM ---------- So really los only counts ever if you are within 1" of terrain or cannot be seen at all.
