  1. The P3 brushes from Privateer Press are fantastic. They are the majority in my collection.
  2. We can always get chipped like household pets! I figured if our pets have them why can't the Henchmen?
  3. It is all part of the assassination plan! You feed them steaks, and then offer them toothpicks!:blackeye:
  4. NO! DON'T SELL!!!! Get some more people in your area interested in the game! Run demos at a local games store, show your friends, show your enemies! Don't give up on Malifaux!
  5. I just finished my Dark Angels scout snipers for Warhammer 40K (the game that should not be named). More Malifaux models coming soon.
  6. Hey guys, Just throwing some pics on here of some models I am currently working on. I apologize if some photos are a bit blurry my camera is not the best. I have only been painting for about a year so feel free to critique and comment. Any bit of info helps! These first pics are not based....yet. Here is Seamus Dreamer and Lord Chompy Bits And Dreamer's Teddy And my WH40K Terminator Chaplain (ok it is not Malifaux but I really like the way it turned out) I posted this one in a different thread yesterday, just consolidating my work!
  7. 1: Paint the rest of my models. 2: Get BACK to the gym and get back to my regiment of actually lifting heavy things and eating right(that whole thanksgiving to xmas time sucks for this). 3: Get my league details finished and posted for everyone to see 4: Go to Gencon....AGAIN!!! 5: Get a new place to live, apartments suck! 6: Get Promoted (soon, so I guess it doesn't really count) 7: Get my local con ready to go.
  8. I own this bad boy! It is fantastic for Malifaux! Most of the stuff Pegasus Hobbies does will work great for M&SU work sites!
  9. I find Bishop to be one of my favorite models to use. He is very pricey at 10 points and may not pull off "hit once and kill stuff" moves but he moves and hits like a blur. Combined with his triggers he can lock down models in melee and be a total pain in the butt to anyone who doesn't focus on killing him. He charges for (1) and is a melee expert. Combine that with his (0) action Adaptive fighter and choose rams his damage jumps to 2/3/5 base and can go to 3/4/6 on the flip or cheat (gains critical strike like the Guild) and at that point a crow on DF triggers Disarm (attacker discards 1 control card for each ram or crow in Bishop's duel total) or Riposte (defender misses with a melee strike and Bishop attacks) with a mask. I have annoyed many an opponent with him.
  10. The best thing about steampunk: blue thingies becomes a technical term!
  11. I am running a demo at my Local Game Store today. I have new players interested in getting into the game and my little Dreamer and his friends want to come out and play :bitchslap
  12. For ease of construction for the ribbed bits I would try and find some larger bolts at a hardware store with rounded cap nuts for the end. For the domed structures soup cans cut in half would easily work and provide a sturdy base to attach the bolts to (or through, which would be a tighter fit). Of course, cutting metal really only works if you have the right tools to do so. The two towers look like they could be made out of old fountain pens with a bit of work. The great thing about making these out of metal is that you wouldn't have to do too much work to them once they are constructed to give them that Malifaux "Steamvictoriohorrorwestpunk" (thanks Nathan) feel. At that point you could use alcohol paints and deep washes to make them look like well-used and beat up machines. Many military model companys make fantastic washes that look like grease, dirt, smoke stain, etc.
  13. It may not be Malifaux, but I still am happy with the paint job I did on this one. I thought I would share it with you all (not based yet).
  14. Fantastic post! I was going to write something similar but you beat me to it and hit the nail on the head! If there is one thing I would add to your rule 1: play as many people as you can it would be when playing people who are better than you make it a point to tell them to grind you into the dirt! Tell them to stomp your face in mercilessly. Then when the match is over, brainstorm with your opponent and find out what you could have done to counter him. One rule I pass on to all competitive players: YOU LEARN MORE FROM YOUR LOSSES THAN YOU LEARN FROM YOUR WINS. Most of the time you walk away from a win only thinking of the win. When you lose you almost always ask yourself "what did I do wrong". Work with that thought. Don't focus on the fact it is no fun to lose, focus on what you could have done different and LEARN from it.
  15. The only way I could think of to stop these shennanigans is to follow a few steps (at least in tournament play). 1: TO looks at all of the decks to make sure everyone has all of the right cards (and they can check for card marking). He/she might need an extra trusted person to help with this step. 2: Once a deck is OK'd they are only allowed to use that deck for the entire event. 3: The opponent MUST cut your deck after you have shuffled and you must do the same. Is this tedious? Very. Does it slow an event down? Absolutely. But if you suspect someone of cheating and you are making EVERYONE do this the cheaters will either quit showing up or your annoyed, paranoid players will catch them and beat them down with gym socks filled with marbles.
  16. Most of the guys (and the few gals, btw) at our LGS are VERY competitive! In "Warmahordes" we are always looking to find the most sick combos we possibly can for each army (I play trolls, not very hard to find them for me!) and after playing them (and usually stomping our opponent into the dirt) we sit back and look to see if anything can beat/counter it. You will run into these type of things in any game where combos happen. Yes, Lillith and Perdita are probably the best Masters in the game, but they are NOT unbeatable, you just might have to find a different angle to approach your victories than running at them with the "axe to face" technique.
  17. .............Fall, Fall, the Form of Man and Rise the Demon Etrigan! Sorry, sorry! Nobody has done it yet and by God it had to be done!
  18. If I were you I'd jump in to run events! If you can't compete, let the greatness be known to all of gamerdom (gamerdom is word now, I said so)! I was henching in the Pinellas County area before I was made official just to get more players into the game. If you want help setting something up or getting ideas on how to organize an event let myself or one of the other Henchman know! I'd be happy to lend some advice on this.
  19. Um...Yeah. i will be going back up to WI to visit my family in Wisconsin Dells on January 19th through the 23rd. I know where Pegasus is located in Madison. I would be more than happy to meet some people up there to play. Let me know and I will bring my figs up with me.
