  1. I think you should ignore the style of it and stick them on their official base size. Base size does matter. Auras, pulses, engagement, ranges in general, line of sight are all going to be affected by the base size.
  2. Edit: posted this in the wrong thread.
  3. I want a Gremlin/Guild master who is actually two Gremlins in a tall coat that have yet to be found out. They would have a McCabe style Dismount action which would result in two, slightly worse Gremlins.
  4. The only major exception being Burt in a Brewmaster crew!
  5. So can anyone confirm whether Survivors got anything after the beta ended? What just occurred to me is, they can't Reckless to shoot and charge in the same turn. In fact, they lose the ability to make disengaging strikes if they achieve "This Thing Shoots?!" I'm at a loss about these guys and very disappointed if their card is no better than when the beta ended. Five stones for Def 5, 4 Wounds, Walk 4 and having to reach a TN to shoot. Why bother?
  6. They're definitely the sillier faction. What other faction would have a catapult that flings Gremlins and fires pig as ammo? The element of fun is what makes it my favourite faction and it's probably lets them be so diverse while maintaining coherency.
  7. Francois comes in Ophelia's box but apart from that, your starting list looks pretty ideal. Somer's box gives you the Minions and Lenny, Ophelia's box gives you the Enforcers and Francois and yes, you want the Slop Haulers. I'd be tempted to say get Gracie over another box of Bayou Gremlins but maybe you'll have fun with summon factory.
  8. The bit you're thinking about is friendly pigs that end their activation within 1" of an enemy scheme marker can eat it to heal 1 wound. The (0) bit is that friendly Piglets can do (1) interacts for (0) instead. How awesome.
  9. I haven't received my copy of Shifting Loyalties yet, but Gluttony (the Gremlin Crossroads 7) is all about scheme markers. I believe he can apply a condition that makes models push into newly generated markers or something along those lines (to eat them, of course). That one could be very interesting.
  10. Seems like it's supported by the rules. That said, it feels like it's an oversight that it's not limited to when the player who owns the models is making the action. To my mind, that would be the intention, to make it easier to pull off things against your own models without being screwed over by unluckily high Defense/Willpower flips - not to limit the effectivemness of Obey-style actions. But of course, unless an FAQ says otherwise, that thought is irrelevant.
  11. So you really were successful at keeping Gremlins themselves to a minimum, that's interesting. Albeit anecdotal evidence but it really seems like Ulix is able to run his own style crew. Thanks, Fog.
  12. So are you saying in the pluckfoam trays and so on, you set the mini standing up? I don't know why I didn't think of that, it makes so much more sense...
  13. AverageBoss has the answer. Read her Gremlin story in the rulebook and it makes sense. Given the general lack of Gremlin willpower, her ability to enthrall and their shared home, it doesn't feel like much of a stretch that they'd team up to kick invader butt anyway.
  14. Zoraida definitely gets more mileage out of Rooster Riders and Pigs due to the (1) charge. The models I see as being interesting picks are: - McTavish: If you mean Gremlin faction rather than strictly Gremlins themselves. Waldegeists and Silurids will benefit from his Swamp Is Our Home. - Lenny: Walk 4 noticeably slows him down. Zoraida can Obey him to compensate for that or to Toss more models. Note he can Toss the Voodoo Doll meaning you can cause a potential 4 damage from the Df duels if you knock it into the hemmed enemy. - Moon Shinobi: Enthrall a Nurse and use Take Your Meds with the Tome trigger (Downers). Moon Shinobis reverse their flip modifiers so they get on all duels and Armor +2. Gimmicky to be sure. - Rami: Rami can get two Focused shots off if Zoraida Obeys him once and he uses Reckless. - Sammy?: I've never taken her but she can use one of Zoraida's upgrades. I suppose you could take Animal Shape that way on Zoraida and still benefit from Crystal Ball. The issue with mixing in Swampfiends is that they don't benefit from many of the buffs handed out by the faction because generally they require the "Gremlin" keyword. So I guess that's worth keeping in mind. Slop Haulers are going to be relatively less useful, for example.
  15. I was going to say I'd repeat it exactly but I've felt like branching out recently. I think I'd pick up Zoraida and Brewmaster and develop some cross-faction crews while building up my old collection again.
  16. Just skimming the latest posts, it seems like EternalVoid has similar thoughts but nonetheless... These are the ones that I'll pretty much never take: - Outflank: This one seems pretty strict to me. Has to be announced to get 3VP, each model has to be within 3", can only score at the end of the game and your models can't be engaged. This would be a last resort scheme for me and I'd be considering Line in the Sand first since at least you can work on that over several turns. - Take Prisoner: I have limited control over whether enemy models can enter within 3" and again, only the last turn matters. This is probably a more attractive scheme if your faction contains multiple models with Leap and Flight. - Spring the Trap: For the same reason as Take Prisoner, I feel like this one may be easier for other factions. These aren't as bad but I'm still not fond of taking them: - Assassinate: Masters have 3AP, some fancy abilities and can use soulstones for damage prevention. It's not a bad scheme, it's just high effort. - Murder Protege: Unlike Assassinate, you need to announce this to get full points so your opponent knows to protect their model at all costs. I get that hiding away their highest soulstone cost model almost sounds like a net gain, but it feels like you're handing over a lot of control.
  17. The description is confusing, but it's just the Wave 1 and 2 upgrades.
  18. Congrats, Fog. What sort of crews did you run? Did you use the Pig-a-pult?
  19. Within always means any part of the model/marker existing within that region. So within 1" means at maximum 1" distance between Willie's base and the blast marker's outer rim. The exception is deployment which states "completely within" which is on page 73.,
  20. I actually find being able to choose which faction they represent fascinating. Having only 2ss to spare should hopefully prevent anything ridiculous but as Math said, this makes the C7 a potential back-up crew in any fixed-Faction event. I'm very much looking forward to your further posts, Joel.
  21. For those of you privy to the models in the new book, does Zoraida have any new options for Enthrall? I suspect there's no new Swampfiends.
  22. It's only a few topics down but just in case you haven't seen it, check out the
  23. Putting together the Bayou Gremlins was genuinely one of my most frustrating experiences in miniatures. That said, I would never sacrifice quality for ease of construction. A miniature that takes an evening to put together looks good forever. Some of the kits are particularly difficult. I wouldn't let that put you off the rest of the range.
  24. Webstore is a pleasure to use. Last time I had to leave a note on my order because it didn't have my county. No such trouble this time.
