  1. Not Looking for Drama. Just shaking my head. I thought for sure I'd've been back in a while ago and that I would be Riding Roasters by now. I am also not trying to pick any fights with Wyrd either, just really really anxious to get my hands on the rest of Book 2. The whole catching up redoing the Old models to plastic really makes the whole release thing feel slower. Closing Time and Merris are really the only new Gremlins I had added to my Gremlins in about two years. That's how I feel about it. But I will be ok soon enough, just getting too Greedy for Green and don't have enough Green for all of the GenCon Green, if you know what I mean.
  2. I need more Pigglets. Now that the Gremlins are ready to go I am back to Kick Butt and Play the Banjo! "Where be me Boomstick cuz?"
  3. So I started playing Malifaux the first year it came out, Teddy was Just Realeased, and I really like the game a lot. I even was part of a Malifaux Podcast, Through The Breach, and followed Wyrd's growth through the years. That said when 2nd Ed was released I took a break and said I will start playing again when Book One Models are all converted to Plastic. As you can see I am Just now getting back to Malifaux and am feeling rather putout by the incredibly slow release schedule. Question is what Is Going On here? This isn't a young company anymore and they have moved into their new warehouse awhile ago now and should have worked out all the wrinkles with the managment shuffle. So Now GenCon is upon us and I am a Gremlin only player now and I am poor at the moment. So If I miss getting the Gremlin Box Sets in the coming weeks will I be waiting until sometime next year before I see them? I mean come on guys, I want to get into this game full speed again but you're killing me with the release schedule. What's going on? Will it get better?
  4. I have seen many players that play to "Win" instead of playing for the game itself. There is a big difference that you as an opponent can feel when you are playing. So be competitive and have fun, but if your competitiveness is getting in the way of your fun and hobby you have a problem. (Trust me, I knew all the meanest lists in the past but refused to play them after testing them out because it was not a fun win, for me or my opponent. So I turned down my competitive lists to fit my meta. Hence Gremlins last edition instead of the Neverborn I started with.)
  5. I am a firm believer that many games should be play for Fun and you don't need to be competitive all the time. The Model looks great and if players don't want to play it because it is not top tier then it is their loss. Besides Gremlins are not such push overs that you can't take a fun model every now and then. (Last edition I tended to play less competitive lists so my opponent could enjoy their game too. My Ophelia was feared.)
  6. Looking at doing just that with mine. Need to look around for a good idea, though the tree trunk is a good one.
  7. For Transport magnetize the bases and use a tin box. This should prevent them from moving around during transport and give more than adequate protection. Game play wise, what are you doing during game that is a danger? Throwing models? Seriously just don't be rough with them during game and they should last a while. It's up to you.
  8. Point for the Bunny. I haven't played a Henchman with a Master yet, though I have played my Henchwoman plenty, so lack of experience got me there. Side note after a game last night where my friend and Cohost Mr. Biggles beat me like ninja ghostbusters with Kaeris, Ramos and an army of constructs my feeling on taking Von Beatschtick has changed. Show no mercy!:hellboy: Mr. B is the best
  9. I was just poking fun at you. It is a very ligit tactic and definitely not the evilest combo in the game. But as I am sure you know if done right that just sounds like hell to face. Hope you didn't pick Kill Protege.
  10. Do you beat up old ladies and steal lunches from school kids too? That is so evil I don't know if I can bring myself to do it......much. Definitely a tourney only option for me. I like having players enjoy playing against me.*drink*
  11. Well I highly suggest leaving the ugly birds out of the display but there is nothing wrong with beating your opponent's face in with an ugly model. Sometimes the greatest beatsticks are just damn..... Well you get the point. As long as this is a crew you enjoy I wouldn't let one model ruin your fun. And imagine your opponent's reaction when he laughs at the bird woman just to see his jaw drop as it attacks his support pieces in their deployment zone turn one.
  12. Well..... Yes. But remember that Harmless and Pitiful reactivate at the beginning of every turn so they will have Harmless at the beginning of every turn. Think of it as the last step in every turn is end affects, unless otherwise stated, and the very first step of every turn is activate character abilities. (Like Harmless.) There are many examples where the end of the affect is not stated if you look through the book and all of them end at the end of the turn. Now when an affect lasts the rest of the Game it will state "till the end of the Encounter." if I am not mistaken. And those are rare. Edit: The other main type is where it states "when this model activates next." is the wording I believe, for stuff like Paralysis and Poison.
  13. I hear you, luckly our meta is very fun oriented and not overly competitive so stopping to explain an action is fine. Also I am one of the guys that everyone asks rules questions from so this would be a minor inconvenience for me. Heck i even have to correct my Henchman and cohost on the rules for LOS becuase Josh forgets to read the first sentence. :-P Love ya Josh buddy.
  14. Oh, now that is just rude. I might have to try it.*grin*
  15. Well I do play Gremlins so I don't go for the extremely in your face approach and tend to use more tricks to bait and switch. I also plag Lilith as a more support piece for the first half of a game using her crews speed and transposition to get an edge. So I think theses tactics are right up my alley. But thanks for the warning GTDemon
  16. Bang on replies everyone. (But I think Mark needs to play nicer. ) I will be testing these ideas out soon and from the looks of Kirai's rules it all sounds just about right. Now I just need to find a good minion to dissect and the Shikome looks lovely. As for getting more players into the mix AcesHigh it will take some tricky Henchman work. Be talkative and friendly to all spectators and always bring a fun competitive list instead of a serious competitive list when you aren't playing your good buds. Also encourage your long timers to expand out so when new players come to play that aren't being Noob Poached. (Not saying you guys do that but I knew a Henchman that did that and it really didn't help.) Wait..... Poaching is something you do with eggs not Noobs. Ehh, you get what i mean.
  17. Thanks for the reply LordZ and i would love to hear his thoughts. Also I hope you community doesn't lose all interest in Malifaux. It really is a unique game that cam still be played and collected even if you play another addiction.
  18. Hey there you spiritual Malifools. This is Jon from the "Through The Breach" podcast and longtime Malifaux player. As some of you might know in our podcasts we focus on individual models and dissect them on our the "Coroner's Slab" portion on the show. Now we realized none of us have much experience with Kirai and what little we do has been underwhelming. I believe this is more to due with our meta not focussing on her enough and not learning how she and her crew really works. I have taken up the challenge and decided I will be building a Kirai crew and learn her crews effectiveness and tricks so I can be the expert on our show when we start talking about spirits and their strengths and weaknesses. I have read a lot of posts already about what to take with Kirai's crew and when I should hire or summon models. So I guess I am more interested in Activation orders, Synergies and tricks with Schemes. I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas (and i am sure I will discover some myself.) so please reply weather you are a listener or not. Even if you hate our show (or at least Josh's jokes *smug*, oh yeah I went there) we would like your thoughts on this crew. And remember, I am not above Name Dropping on the show. :ninja: (It's not like we have any shame or anything.) M.L. (Jon)
  19. Correct. I will need to relisten to that episode to find where that slipped in, but I'm sure it was more of a slip of words than anything. Episode three should be out really soon, Mark, and the Slophualer is discussed. I would like it if you could comment on our discussion and point out what we might have missed or where we might have gotten something wrong. Also some models are more powerful based on the Metas they are played in.
  20. Hey look someone likes our show. And just to be clear when Josh is talking about Sailor Moon and John it is not me. In fact I had to point out that it was Josh who spotted a Sailor Moon poster from a distance and instantly knew what it was. So don't let Josh slide on that one. :-P Also glad Mark caught and added the fun out takes that happened. And yes Wong looks Amazing. He is going to be fun. Also since it hasn't been mentioned yet episode 2 is up.
  21. Ophelia player and winner here. Her crew is much stronger than many would suggest. Though not many here have mentioned it bring a slophualer or two becuase with all the reckless and dumb luck that you 'will' be using the Slophualer takes all the gremlins from fodder to major threat. The trick is finding out which models work well off each other for your style. I myself don't take bayou gremlins and still win far more than i lose with them, so the myth you have to run gunlines to be strong is not correct. I also found Lenny to be very friendly with Ophelia and will be bring him often. He can take a heavy hitting with no problem and slophualers just makes him a headache for my opponent. One thing to keep in mind, Ophelia is strong and can be great in combat but she is a support master first. Run your youngins in the front and use Rami to bait out your opponent into your firing range. Do not take the bait and move in to your opponent. I can typically remove 80-90% of my opponet's crew while still have more than 50% of my crew left. Heck I have tabled more than a few crews while only kissing my Youngins and Pere, and I ment for them to die. Remember you do have a lot more control over what will die than a lot of other crews. But positioning and order of activation is everything. Your crews stats and card flips don't mean much as long as it doesn't go completely south. Average flips will win you games.
  22. I am an Ophelia lover (It's quite nice when you get past the green skin.) and will say that yes the Gremlins have some bad match ups like any master but when you go up against a crew that focuses on willpower you have to rethink your attacks. (Pere's and Raphael's spells ignores Pandora's willpower test.) I will say though that the Gremlins are fun win or lose becuase their crazy shenanigans. (Nothing like seeing the look on someones face when someone takes 8 wounds from a youngin. "I sorry, he did What?":hellboy: )
  23. Von Schill gives the Dreamer and LCB Nightmares. Pandora's box holds nothing more than a picture of Von Schill. Soulstones are the result of Von Schill's sweat crystallizing. Von Schill
  24. Hmmmm...Maybe I haven't been abusing it enough then. :-P I just haven't had my Youngins really change the game for me like that, unlike every other LaCroix in Ophelia's house.*devil* And Degraz i never said you were.... Well anything. I just said in my experience the Youngin's use of RBtE looks amazing at first glance. That's becuase i don't waste/use ss on them unless it is a spirit that my other Boys can't handle. My opponent's rough Ophelia something fierce if i leave her short on ss. Obviously your freind plays differently than I do. That's all i said brother. Nothing but respect here.
