  1. Personnaly I would love this...but there is one major differance between GW games and Malifaux. GW is all stat heavy games. you have what...8 or 9 stats on the stat line, whereas Malifaux has what...5? so unless you are going to add in decreases and increases to Abilities, Triggers, Actions and Spells im not sure there would be that much of a impact on the game. if it could be made to work...geat thing...however I have a feeling its a bit more complicated than it sounds
  2. good point! course this also comes up with the issue of someone thinking..."hmmm..let me stack my deck with low cards and when I draw the low card I give them my deck" agghh....ok so that system isnt perfect either....so whats the best way to insure that people dont stack decks and cheat other than going through each persons deck before each game. :banghead:
  3. not exactley a Malifaux specific sold item but if you have enough customers that purchase both Malifaux and to an extent Warmachine I would look into stocking a variety of the 3rd party resin base inserts as well. DarkAge makes a real nice series of varied inserts that work for both Malifaux and Warmachine minis
  4. So has anyone come up with or made any Malifaux wallpaper yet? my serch-fu revealed nothing of any real import
  5. I appreciate the input and will do a bit more looking into things. Ill take the Dreamer under advisment as well. Knowing his play style-he is like most kids who start off gaming (hell I remember doing the same thing when I was his age) of getting the biggest coolest looking models and smashing down the field with them-perfect example is in Flames of War he will always take the Big Cat tanks even though they have really never done anything for him, so I know the subtilties of some of the game WILL be lost on him at least initally. thanks all!!
  6. well the funny thing is that even with the stacked decks they really didnt win alot which is why they probley flew under the radar for so long they migrated to Malifaux from 40k...and were trying to play it using 40k style tatics....
  7. So my 15 year old nephew wants to start playing Malifaux. Ive allready got him hooked on Flames of War so he understands minature gaming. he has fallen in love with Teddy. And wants to run Teddy. Oh yeah and he thinks the Horseman is really cool as well but the price tag is a bit out of his reach right now. So I need to figure out what crew would work best with teddy. I know Pandora has some better synergy with him but I think Pandoras combos may be out of his leauge so Im thinking that maybe Lillith may be a bit more direct with run up and punch stuff any ideas or thoughts?
  8. I always pass my deck off to my opponent to shuffle. kinda fosters the same sence of treatment in return. course im the kinda guy who will also print up his list before hand with points and book and page refrences on them to hand to my opponent so he can look it over before playing-thats mostly for FoW I do that. Back in my Fantasy days ~cough15yearsago~cough~ we had a guy we were pretty sure was using loaded dice...so we all got together and whenever he showed up we would all claim we forgott our dice and have to use his. of course he stomped his feet and blustered about it...but eventually stopped brining those dice
  9. happened last week. we have a decent ammount of Malifaux players at our store..4-6 at any one time on our monday gaming and we managed to catch a couple of the guys cheating recentley how does one cheat at malifaux you may ask...it seems they had purchased several decks and had literally taken out all the low cards and stacked them with high cards. It was only with a sharp eyed player that noticed one of the guys layed down 2 cards that were both 12 of crows did anyone pick up on what they were doing and after checking thier decks and finding out what they had done were they asked to leave it disheartens me that people would go to these lengths to cheat at a game...but there you have it just a worde of caution to people out there that people do literally "stack the deck' in thier favor
  10. couple different way to go with how I paint undead flesh. main way is using vallejo paints(say the hell away from GW paints-overpriced and crappy pigmentation) use a base of stone grey, smoke wash, and then a mix of 50/50 stone grey and pale flesh drybrush. replace stone grey with green ochre for a more greenish/yellow tone. my best bet is experiment. thats about the best way to find what works best with you
  11. use vallejio paints. they come in little squeeze bottles that measure out even drops of paint.. and they have better pigments than GW paints and are a hell of alot cheaper
  12. hmmm..didnt think of that..and I do have some toenail clippers around here somewhere....should to the trick was a bit of a shock to see how robust they were. too used to others companies minis that have weak and much smaller tabs.
  13. so im noticing that the tabs on alot of the minatures are pretty thick and attached to the minis pretty solidly. whats the best way to remove them without damaging or destroying the mini?
  14. now that is a really good idea. gonna have to try and see if I can find the plascard and gets started on it
  15. the green stuff cobblestones is what I was originaly thinking of going with. but I do like the idea of the hardwood floors.....think I can dig up a sheet of plasticard to do that. have to run some ideas through my mind on how exactly to make it look like a plank wood floor.... and still always looking for more ideas=)
  16. did you pin teddy to the cobblestone or just glue it right to the cobblestone?
  17. So I managed to finnaly get my hands on a starter set. (McMournings) and due to several financial constraints I just dont have the cash to buy any inserts for the bases and wont have the cash for a couple more weeks at the earliest. I could always go for the old standby of long cut flock for the bases but I really think it will be doing the minatures a disservice and would really like to get started on painting them so I need ideas on what to do with the bases to liven them up a bit and not use flock. so what are some good ideas that others have come up with for basing thier minis?
  18. so for the most part I have seen everyone pretty much run with black bases for thier minis. Can anyone really explain that to me? I know its kinda an industry standard but I much prefer to color my bases different colors. with my Flames army I painted the base for every infatry platoon a different color as to differentiate the different platoons, and I will probley paint the bases of the crews up in different colors as well just curious why so many people stick with black. not that im saying its a bad thing. just curious:turtle: EDIT:I should clarify that I mean the base the the minis stand on, not the base coat of piming the mini. looking over what I wrote I figured I may confuse some people cause I confued myself
  19. hehe love the executive producer overall not bad. Id keep watching your reviews. Maybe work on increasing the temp and pace of the dialoguie, but overall thats something that comes with time and pratice.
  20. I threw away all my GW crap over a decade ago. Stuck with mainly table top wargames-the old avalon hill style games for the most part. moved into Flames when it came out as well as DBA and rekindeled an old intrest in Micro armor. I wont say malifaux has killed my other games, its just been added to the potpouri of games that my I play. The biggest thing we are working on right now is a set of 6mm micro armor rules set in the 1980's. Based on the hex game World at War and its coming along pretty nicley. We have a few demo games coming up at the Enfilade convention in the seattle area this year. Frantically trying to finish painting all the minis for it. And we still do Flames and break out DBA on ocassion. Some of the guys are a bit hesitant to get into a new system but the low mini count and lower cost is a real selling point
  21. looks good. Like the shading on the guns
