  1. You are sort of looking at it wrong. The stuff below Df 4 does not matter. It is only the higher end Df that matters. The enlargement is not about not being able to hit consistently it is not being able to hit them at all. I do not have my books, so I can not actually look at the models in the Rezzer faction that have such high Df, so I will take the numbers at face value. However the numbers that matter are the Df 5+ and more importantly the Df of 6 or 7. Not being able to hit at all is the thing that is problematic. Rezzers have very few if any models that are typically able to be saved. If you have a Df of 6 then a lot of models can not hit you at all if you have high cards in your hands. The other thing, which I can not do that good of a job defending without my books, is what value of the models with the high Df. Belles have typically low Df, but that is fine, they are there to take hits, they are designed to take hits. I can not think of many Rezzers that should be avoiding hits (mostly Masters) with High Def. Bette is the only one that comes to mind. Neverborn is the opposite of this. They have a lot of fragile models, but they are very hard to hit. Sometimes impossible to hit. Most of the models they need to keep alive, they have the opportunity to actually keep alive. It takes the risk out of things. Even with hard to wound 2 you can still take severe damage, and you are probably going to be taking at least 2 or 3 damage every attack. So on average 5 damage a turn. With very high Def you are avoiding damage and all together. Avoidance is much greater then mitigation. Everything in the 3-5 range is honestly a wash in my opinion as most things will have stats in that range and the randomness of the cards is a bigger factor then the cards in ones hand. Finally, and this sort of has to do with avoidance, is that really high Df is more then likely to make you be the one that cheats second. This is incredibly advantageous. I do not have a problem with Rezzers as they are built, but I think the design philosophy does not fully take the difference of mitigation and avoidance into consideration.
  2. This pretty much 100 times over. If the objective is to wipe out the other opponent then make it less complicated and say at the end of the game all that matters is starting SS cost vs ending soulstone cost, or model count. I like model count better and that way it would be the other side of escape and survive. They could just combined the two and one side be the defender and the other side be the attacker. Either way, the main thing is "Dead should count as dead".
  3. Since the other Gamin can not target Hamlin is he even considered in melee with him?
  4. If I have: Colette Cassandra, Magician's Apprentice [9ss] Performer & Mannequin [6ss] Performer & Mannequin [6ss] Renegade Steamfitter Johan [5ss] Union Miner [4ss] Union Miner [4ss] Can all of them activate at the same time? I know the showgirls could activate together and the union members could together, but since Collette is both could she bind the two chains so they all can go at once?
  5. Ramos could do it solo. It is not impossible to cast EC, kill it, then cast it again. Not even sure it you have to kill it. Nico can get his off on turn one almost my accident.
  6. I vote for any combination or the and/or wording seems worthless. What does this sentence mean to you: "Ramos successfully casts Electrical Creation and Construct Spider twice." It means you need to cast 2 EC and 2 Spiders "Ramos successfully casts either Electrical Creation or Construct Spider twice." This one reads to me the same as the previous one. The word either adds nothing to the sentence in my opinion. "Ramos successfully casts Electrical Creation or construct Spider twice." It means you either need to cast EC twice or Spiders twice
  7. I like this list, but it still seems slower then the fast armies, and a lot of work to outpace the slow ones. Turn one you either need to get what you came for and get out of dodge or not bother at all. I can only think of two objectives that need grabbing in turn 1 (treasure token, and the Evidence Marker) other then that I think you can take your time with everything else.
  8. I add a Librarian to my Kiari list. Gives me that extra card and I spam heal her when I need her to summon things. So far it has seen mixed results. The main problem with Rezzers is everything is so crow intensive. I feel like from reading the boards people here do not know how to shuffle cards or something as they always seem to have a hand full of crows. I typically take an abundance of soulstones so I can add a card when I try to get a spell off I normally would not be able to. If it is say Nico and I am getting a Rogue Necro from it, well then that SS just netted me four cards, which I think is a good trade off. Other times it is not as nice.
  9. Except I assume Riptide, even though the wording is pretty much identical.
  10. I am confused? Did you not buy the boxes and only the individual models? In a Vacuum I would do: Shared Treasure Hunt 25ss scrap Shared Slaughter 35ss scrap Kill Protegee-might as well since you need to do it anyhow Bodyguard- on Von Schill and load up on SSs go max 8 Shared Reconnoiter 45ss brawl Stake a Claim Breakthrough Shared Destroy the Evidence 45ss scrap Grudge-Pick a model with mobility and kill it when it goes to grab a marker Shared Claim jump 55ss brawl Hold out Those are just some thoughts. Would sort of depend on who I was playing and what builds I was using for a list. Eye for an Eye and Gather Soulstones work well together since you can thin out your Ronin and accomplish two things at once. Twart might be good towards the end when the pickings are slim. Choose Steal Relic against Melee masters. I might try to have an idea of one scheme to pick for the strat and one tailored to who I play.
  11. I would seriously not do this in any of the rounds, except maybe Treasure Hunt, and then I personally still would not do it. I am assuming the Tournament is only using wins/loses as opposed to VPs.
  12. She seems like she could be a good utility model if you are focused on taking down a tough model. As a zero action with a solid tome in your hand you could get a free move, debuff a model with a double negative flip, and then get a shot off. Then you have two general AP left. Probably could get a -2 def off. That model is pretty much going down the that turn. It is sort of situational, but if you are going for something like kill protegee it might be worth it. In the late game might be good against masters too. It is not the greatest model in the world, played right, I think you can get your soulstones worth.
  13. Just wondering, but what is Nico too slow to do? I never really played him in a way that he needed to be anywhere. Most of the time if you just wait for your opponent they will come to you soon enough.
  14. That is true, I have been waiting for forever for more people in my area to switch from Warmachine to Malifaux and that seems to be taking forever. The Neverborn ninja Errata seemed to happen over night though, at least on this side of the forum tracks.
  15. I think it is suppose to be a balance issue, I just am not sure where they came up with the numbers, as mine would probably look some what different.
  16. Oh, nevermind, I did not do the math the first time and misunderstood your calculation, now that I actually look at the numbers you are correct. It is a pretty solid gun line. I feel like you might want to lose a guardsmen and find a melee model some how though not sure what I would do.
  17. Just so you know, you get the Henchmen Number of Soulstones to use to spend on your army, so those 4 unspent soulstones are not doing anything. You could add another guardsmen, or drop a gaurdsmen and and Taelor and still be sitting on a 4 Soulstone Cache. Or you could add a Ronin drop it to three stones, and then sac the Ronin for a 5 stone cache if you really wanted to.
  18. If you keep the Librarian near Von Schil and then the Librarian can drop a ram to heal itself with its slow to die. I think depending on the strat you could bunch up with the Viks pretty well and hold ground like no ones business.
  19. A good Grow Army can have at least one if not both Mature out on Turn 1. The Deadrider should be able to tank a round or two but I feel like by the end of the turn he will be as good as dead. Which will leave you down your most expensive model and them with 4 turns to recover. If you can pull off an assassinate or something I could see it being worth it, but otherwise I am not seeing it. I guess you might be able to get someone to burn a stone on the initiative flip if you get lucky.
  20. Am I missing a plethora of Morale Duels somewhere? Everyone brings this up, but I honestly can not think of too many non-terrifying morale duels I have even seen take place.
  21. You know with Nico Corpse Counters = more Punk Zombies right? So I think I would prefer the part where I get more corpse counters, because a fresh punk zombie summoned directly into melee with the ranged model is pretty nice. On top of that those ranged models are effected by all my spells and abilities. It is like Christmas. In a tournament would anyone seriously take Seamus all that often? Being that non-living models make up most of the dominate lists I think half of his abilities and tricks are sort of shut down. He is a book 1 Master in a Book 2 world. Now that Avatars might fix things up a little bit, but we will have to wait a little bit to see if that is true or not.
  22. Possibly elaborate? I guess I get the three big guns, but why the Librarian?
  23. Can we get new schemes then please? Since the ones we have now assume this, and are sort of terrible because of it. Also if we could get some more survivable models that would be sweet. If that is our schtick then I think we should not be so close to the bottom of the barrel of it. Luckily Nico has casting expert can summon with a 1 action. Also Bolster is much more effective when there are undead around to buff. Thankfully Trail of Fears only effects living models, so I really only have to worry using that ability once in a blue moon, and almost never in a competitive setting in a match I am worried about winning (Hamlin being the biggest exception). I agree Scaple Sling is a nice ability, and too bad McM is probably our less competitive master despite all his nice tricks. If I have the cards in may hand though, summoning a 7-10 Soulstone model that then gets to make attacks, is better then an extra attack. McM is probably the best summoner in the current meta, not summoning with him, to me would seem like a mistake. I can only imagine that the pandora player was either inexperienced or some amazing things went your way. I am just glad that Rigor mortis does not only effect living undead models.
