  1. I use this for pins http://www.bitsandkits.co.uk/armature-pinning-wire-x10-p-3980.html has the advantage that it is exactly 1mm in diameter allowing a good snug fit with holes made with 1mm bit (unlike paperclips and the ilk which tend to be thinner and wallow in the hole a bit). As to pinning itself it seems really hard at first but with a little practice you'll soon realise you can pin almost anything (I've drilled the middle out of 1.5mm plastic rod to make sniper rifle barrels).Like anything else practice makes perfect.
  2. I use a simple formula white primer rotting flesh and Devlan mud wash
  3. I use GW's green stuff modeling tool as one end has a 'scoop' and a disposable pippette for adding water.
  4. heres my current stuff working on others once I get my painting backlog finished. http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11653
  5. Love them! It never ceases to amaze me how many different colour schemes people come up with and how different the same model can appear from person to person.
  6. Here is my Cult of December crew Rasputina Wendigo Golem Gamin
  7. I once removed a 1/4 of my cornea with my thumb nail whilst drunk, so I can understand the eyes thing. For me though it's the 'cream' cakes in Van Wilder.
  8. That is one of the few scenes my wife cannot watch! and she LOVES horror movies.
  9. Like the title says I'm addicted to this game and find it hard not to buy more and more crews. Luckily this game is so much cheaper than 40k! I've spent less than I'd spend on half a 40k army and have got loads of viable and different crews and none of the looking at a huge pile of models that have to be painted in a uniform same pallete scheme. That and the layers of tactics that keep me thinking and tweaking my approach to the game and my other games as a byproduct.
  10. Been on a painting marathon and got my second ressers crew McMourning and Sebastian Dogs and Chi Stop (or thing 1) Go (or thing 2) and a Treasure Objective
  11. How about lose the punk a dog and the extra soulstone for a hanged? Oh and I'll be going against the Guild. and I keep forgetting that in Malifaux you don't pick your crew till after you get your objectives.
  12. Well I've been playing Seamus up until now (mainly because he was the first one to be painted) and I feel I've really got a handle on him and his tactics (to the point I'm stomping people I'm attempting to entice into the game). So I've painted up my McMourning who seems to present a different tactical approach so here's my attempt at a 25pt list McMourning Zombie Chi 1 Sebastian 6 Belle 4 Punk Zombie 5 4 x Canine Remains 8 1 extra ss (used for body part) Basic idea is to sit back and use wrack and disect on a dog turn 1 for 4 body parts (dependant on cards in hand) and Zombie chi supplying 2 more via 'fetch the stick'. Whenever possible create a flesh construct (Got 2 painted one in red robe called Stop and one in green robe called GO) and send them in to support dog pack and others, Belle is there for pulling my own models as much as my opponents. Opinions?
  13. Malifaux seems to me to have some great comic moments and occasionally some wild luck makes this funnier. Played a game the other night, my opponent had brought his Lady J crew (he's the first of my friends I've persuaded into buying stuff) but wanted a slightly larger game so I lent him my convict gunslinger to boost his points. Reading the card my mate asks 'what ruthless does' I explain and he seems happy. Turn 2 one of his Death Marshalls is in melee with sybelle he activates the convict moves and shoots at sybelle. Cue amusement firstly he targets the death marshall (random targetting is so full of win) then he proceededs to hit the death marshall at a -- and flips 3 cards for damage the 3rd card is the red joker he flips another card for another severe damage and the convict promptly executes the Death Marshall with a shot to the back of the head. We both saw the funny side of it especially as I had lent him the traitorus model. What fun/unlikely things have you seen.
  14. QFT though I wouldn't say attack as I use it on my own models as often as my opponents (to drag figs in melee out of melee and allow seamus and his hand cannon to put on a hurtin).
  15. Out of the 3 you've listed:- Seamus is pretty damn good (he's my go to master) and you'd probablly need to only buy one or two blisters to bolster it into a formidable force. Sonnia Criid is like most of the Guild a solid choice for beginers. Nicodem I think would be the hardest to play as a beginer also to make best use of him you'll need a lot of spare zombie models (for mindless dead) and a range of other undead to summon in.
  16. I have him as the master I will use when A) I get more players locally (got 3 or 4 interested one has even bought some stuff) as he strikes me as to be not a master to be doing demo's with; When the SPA models come out (two packs of 4 for me :vb_devil:); and finally C) when I manage to get my head around his rules and the ideas presented in this thread (getting there everytime I play I'm 'getting it' more).
  17. I'd consider a ronin as your current list is very shooty and a ronin has the speed to block the inevitable tying of your units in melee and can hang back and shoot if needed.
  18. Currently I have: The Ortegas box set (this is my loan to new players crew) Seamus and Redchappel Gang Box (Ressers are my main crew) 4 canine remains Nicodem Mcmourning Copycat Grave Spirit Zombie Chihahua Bette Noir 2 Flesh Constructs 2 Hanged Mortimer 2 Nurses 3 Punk Zombies Sebastian Leveticus (my back burner crew, just waiting for SPA to be released) 2 Hollow Waifs Rusty Alice Desolation Engine Convict Gunslinger Bishop 3 Ronin When I write it down it's pretty scary how much stuff I've bought in a relative short amount of time.
  19. Trying my hand at more advanced blending techniques sometimes I'm quite happy with the results and sometimes I can't tell. Ronin Bishop Doggy
  20. Love em your colour scheme is very similar to my own only much better in execution (mumble mumble mumble):club:.
  21. For a first attempt it knocks spots off a lot of people who have been painting them for years. You have a very clean precise painting style and it looks good keep it up.
  22. Really nice building, and your paint job puts it over the top.
  23. GW Battlemat thingy 10% of the price and space consumed by thier realms of battle board.
  24. So over the course of a year or so I've been collecting the bits to do my own home 'table' for 40k. A couple of months ago I got into Malifaux and got the itch to build scenery for the first time and a 3'x3' table is much easier to do than a 6'x4' (for a start it fits on the existing dining table). Persuaded a mate to come round tomorrow to try out Malifaux and decided I better put the table together to ensure I had enough scenery and it looked alright. Here it is most of the stuff is 'pegasus' pre-painted and made stuff with a bit of 40k administarium (sp?), some trees from the local train shop and of course some stuff I made myself. Scrapyard (nurse for scale)
