  1. Hey all. Just picked Malifaux back up after a brief hiatus - I've gotten some new friends involved and we found a great space to game! My painting skills have gone woefully slack, but anything I do finish will likely get posted here along with some more tactical articles/observations ala: http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20561 I've expanded beyond Perdita's mob into Rezzies (Kirai and Mc Mourning) and my friends have also broadened their minis selections (easier to count the masters we don't have, at least till Gen Con lol) so I hope I can provide some interesting content for everyone. Cheers and happy hunting beyond the breach. -Courtsloth
  2. Another thought - dropping 1 Dog for and Enslaved Neph. would give you the Obey-bot you need to push Francisco in for a flurry, maintain your 7ss pool, and give you another use for the SS's since 'Dita can be so self sufficient.
  3. You could win some fights just on weight of activations. Just keep the dogs in groups of 3 and 4, activate one from the groups of 3 and 2 from the group of 4, each singly, later activate the remaining pairs and you'll easily out activate most crews - just ghost around the board and frustrate most opponents, pick at their flanks where applicable. I see your logic in picking Francisco. An Austringer also seems like an interesting option - place him somewhere central and somewhat inaccessible to harass with his (2) 18" and if they do take the time to fetter him out ./shrug it was probably time wasted on their part - Deliver Orders could have some interesting applications in that crew as well.
  4. I would be pleased to see one book, mini format, with stat-blocks from the first two and the anticipated 3rd book sans standing rules, fluff, and art. Perhaps it could contain any new rules/keywords from book 3. In terms of a sales model - if book 3 is a 35$ full book my friends and I will likely buy 1 or 2 and share them, if there were a 15$ stat-block mini book we would likely each buy a copy (5-6 copies) because they would simply be so useful. I do not relish the idea of paying 20$ extra for fluff and art.
  5. Also, Perdita and Lady J can get around Pandora's WP gate ability w/See the Unseen and Blind Justice. On top of Sonnia's blast spamming, Guild shouldn't have a ton of trouble with Pandora if you play careful.
  6. I used the spirit on a Dead Rider for a couple of games to excellent effect. Hard to Wound 2, Regen 1, Armor +2, and his (0) used as a heal made him a real tank and still lightning fast.
  7. Expensive and slow in my experience.
  8. Ah, good catch and too bad - was looking forward to doing this to a buddy of mine =P. And thank you to everyone for the positive feedback, more to come soon.
  9. Wow, color me corrected - I didn't think Immune to Influence was that powerful. That's pretty nasty.
  10. Spells with a Wp resist are NOT Wp duels (they are 2 seperate in-game functions) - he's not immune.
  11. Got a couple of games in with the mad Doc this week and had a lot of fun. One was against Lady J, the other Hoffman - both were 30pts. The first one was hilarious - turned into a big punch-up center stage led by the Dead Rider w/Grave Spirit attached. He soaked a TON of damage, tied stuff in melee (mostly Sam Hoppkins), but did little damage back - McMourning slid up the field, dead rider died and popped Betty, Doc sliced up some minions and lobbed a Rogue Necromancy into melee w/Lady J who then died to the Necro and Betty. 2nd game I played more cagey - Rider and Doc split down opposite flanks to grab objectives, I swapped Betty for a Hanged who put a little hurt onto Ryle, I made my dogs (think I had 6 that game, lol) take their 1pt charge into melee w/Ryle 1 at a time so he was tied and had to spend actions meleeing them instead of shooting (then next turn the next dog dives in, grabs and gives the last dog's corpse counter to Doc). Eventually he got frustrated that I wan't engaging and he over extended a little, made Hoffman vulnerable so the Dead Rider swooped in and hooked him dragging him away from his big construct Katamari - from there the Rider and Hanged killed Hoff, Doc slashed up a Peacekeeper and tossed a rogue Necro into his Guardian and Mobile Toolkit and he forfeit. Doc is hilarious - I usually play Guild myself, but he's a real cutup =P
  12. Added resources & decision making.
