  1. If you're gonna take Killjoy, a good tactic to get him in quick is to take a necropunk(3ss), run him up as far and as fast as possible (with arachnid and their 0 action leap spell, this can be pretty far) and then wait for the other crew to gank him. Necropunks have slow to die, so use that 1 action to sacrifice him and bring in killjoy. Also, i've veen giving this a little more thought, since I run McMourning and Lady J, and some things have come to mind. First, if McMourning goes toe to toe with Lady J, use Wrack if you can. Only does 2 wounds, but it prevent 0 actions, so this will prevent Lady J from using Sword Style, which is one of the spells she truly uses to shine, also, nets you a body part from 12 inches away. Next, if you can, use your larger models (Flesh Construct, Killjoy) to break line of sight between Lady J and other models, and this will help to disrupt her Inspiring Swordplay (+2 Cb to friendly models within LoS and 10" when she kills a model in meelee)
  2. Hanged, If you got'em. Lady J and her crew normally get +2 to defensive Wp duels against undead, but the Hanged's "Relentless Terror" (?) negates this. Hanged are especially brutal if your Lady J opponent runs with the Governor's Proxy as their totem. (Hanged force alot of Morale duels, and Proxy destroys any friendly model in LoS that fails Morale.)
  3. Bishop rolls up on an as yet untouched McMourning, lays down a 13 on the attack flip, McMourning lays down a Black Joker on defense, Bishop promptly picks him up and throws him into a nearby hole. Instant kill. Turned a sure win into a sure loss.
  4. Nice, very doggy-esque. Just one problem that I see, and that is that if this is a 30 ss game, you need to find something to do with those 5 ss. McMourning starts with 6, and you can't have more than 8 in a scrap, so that would be 3 ss you're throwing away. May I suggest another 2 dogs, or maybe a nice Nurse to make doggie missiles.
  5. Okay, I can see a Scarecrow totem to a master that has a kind of Evil Farmer feel. Thing is, farmer's aren't particularly mythic or nightmarish, so they don't jive well with the Neverborn theme. Though, a Straw Man totem might go well with a Puppetmaster, er, master. Though, if that happens, you lose the images evoked by the name "Scarecrow". No, I think the Scarecrow would probably work best as a kind of standalone minion, like the Doppelganger and Hooded Rider. I do however like the idea of him having resistance versus spells and triggers that have :crows in the cost. Make him a holy terror against Resurrectionists.
  6. Oooh, now that is an angry ghost. Hmm, now, the rules. Or, more precisely, the rulebook. For a group of people who have never, to my knowledge, tried to write a rulebook before, I believe they have done an admirable job. Is it perfect? No. Then again, in their defense, Warhammer 40K has been around for, what, twenty-five, thirty years? They've done 5 editions, and their rulebook is still a hot mess in places, to use the souther vernacular. With the errata in place, I believe understanding the rules won't be that difficult for new players. The only crime Wyrd coUld perpetrate here is if, in three to five years, when it is time to release a new edition, they haven't learned from the mistakes of this one. Then, we can cry foul. Until then, simply enjoy what is an AWESOME GAME! WOOO!
  7. The disturbingly seductive wrabbit has it in one. I would think any scarecrow figure would be a Neverborn analog of the Resurrectionists Hangman, a figure that dominates the field through the use of fear. I can imagine a mid-range, no damage spell called "Flight of Crows" that works like the Gunslingers covering fire, all models in the range of affect have to discard control cards or be paralyzed as crows burst up out of the ground, startling them. Also, an ability that would allow it to be treated as harmless as long as it takes no move action in a round, after all, it's just a scarecrow, it can't actually hurt you. Make it hard to wound 2, unless the effect hitting it is fire, then it's easy to wound 2. (Cackle, how about some fire scarecrow?) It'd be a construct, I would think. Hmm, I trying to think of some other stuff that would lend itself to the Neverborns predilection for deception and speed, yet fit the motif of a scarecrow.
  8. While I will continue to wait, hope, and pray that young master Nathan will one day conquer his intense Coulrophobia and give us the one mini that many are hoping for (that unnameable white-faced spectre of jocularity), I have decided that there is another mini, that, should it ever join the forces of the Neverborn, could sway me to gather 'bout myself a Neverborn army. The mini is that lone watchman of the fields, that figure designed, built, and deployed for no other reason than to sow terror in the enemies of the agrarian, that cruciform individual whose uncanny features can inspire unease in the most dogged of men, the Scarecrow So, who else thinks this would be an excellent addition to the Neverborn forces?
  9. Well, It probably depends on what Master you're running, but the Convict Gunslinger is kinda like the color black, he goes well with everthing. Brings some ranged ability to the Neverborn who tend to be lacking in that department. Also, I have a friend who will not field Pandora without Hamelin. He works well with her since the two of them can stack on Wp duels and inflict a lot of damage with Sorrows around your target. Also, Obey is good for keeping targets where you need them to be to keep maximum damage on them. And, Teddy and Kade are built for each other. If you can take them both, it's a good idea. Those are the only ones I know. Hope it helps. P.S. @Csonti What's wrong with you?
  10. Ummm, I thought Som'er could only hire gremlins?
  11. Lady J and Death Marshalls FTW! Hehe, sorry. Seriously, you might want to think about taking Governor's Proxy. He makes a nice totem that backs up the Ortegas already good WP, plus, the ability to strip your enemy of their Cb and Ca suits is pretty cool.
  12. While I have personally never played Pandora, I have a friend who does, and I know that he swears by Hamelin. His explanation was the fact that Pandora is about zone control and manuevering, and Hamelin's Obey and Growing Command giving you another level of control when it comes to making sure your opponent stays within range of the various zones of effect generatied by Pandora's crew.
  13. From the Guild: Contract? You malfeasant dreams of an addlepated madman dare to offer us a contract? You are correct, you are creatures of wrath, passion, and madness. Our wrath, our passion, our madness. Without us, your. are. Nothing! Dust on the wind. Mindless moans in the depth of the night. We birthed you, we gave you form. You are our willful children. And the Guild knows how to deal with children who misbehave. You punish them. From the Resurrectionists: A contract, hmmmm? No, I don't believe I wish to sign that. You see, dear fellow, I have no use for your power, your strength. All I need is time, for Neverborn you may be, but that does not mean you will never die. And when your corpse lies cooling in the bitter Malifaux wind, your black blood a pool of shadow in the moon's pale luminescence, then I will come. Then we will have our "contract". And you will serve me.
  14. Penguins? scary, i'll give you that. but you want to go with truly horrifying? Mimes. I can already see a spell called invisible rope or something that acts like lure. oh yeah.
