  1. I usually use an opponents piece or corpse if I kill them...:-p
  2. fair enough josh. for painted do you have to have painted them yourself or not? if I forfeit my chance in the lotto can we have it be 40 stones?
  3. for you bowen: opponent sportsmanship: pleasure to play against(3pt), not the best but still fun (1pt), total jerk (w/ explanation 0pt) opponent paint: Excellent Painting & Basing(5pt), Nicely painted and based (4pt), Painted but not based (3pt), Good Effort (2pt), Well there’s paint on them (1pt), Bare metal or primer (0pt) I went back and reread the initial post. Sounds like 3 separate categories that have nothing to do with each other so sounds good. Read into Mavs too much thinking they all got combined together, my mistake. Yes, awarding someone for their talent and time spent on miniatures is good. I'm fine losing that one
  4. I'm agreeing with Mav on this one. what determines excellent vs good vs ooo look there's pretty colors. A tournament should be about having fun and being a good sport not how well you can paint. I'm decent when I have time to paint but I like to try out new combinations and models so generally they dont have more than a base coloring done. do you have to have been the one that painted them like in the last tournament or can you have pro painted(as example) models count for you?
  5. I vote for a 40 stone brawl just because we havent done one before.
  6. I tend to list off various masters and let my opponent pick who they want to run against. ADHD...yup
  7. The toolkit for the bonus tome in the cast is the big deal with her. One thing to remember is that the field allowance is doubled so you could bring 4 corphyees or 2 steamborgs in your list.
  8. I see you didnt want to count my painted ramos crew for 3 vp. what'd he ever do to you to not count? poor poor ramos Either way, I'll be up there tonight. Thanks for running things Josh.
  9. Levi's crew is one of the best for taking her on. Most of your key models (waif, levi, alyce) are all high will-powered for resisting duels. If he's bringing pandora up early just save levi's activation and use a couple soul stones to kill her (2-3 spells should have you able if she isnt dragging some woes with her to shuck damage to)
  10. Josh. Something came up and I wont be able to make it until 7:45/8. Can you put me down for your second game?
  11. yeah..your link takes you to week 2 guild only....
  12. Bowen, if you're up for letting me borrow your gremlin mobs I'm tempted to throw them on the table for amusement.
  13. Josh, I'm not sure if I have something in pontiac tomorrow at 6 or not. I should know by 3ish. If I do I'll come up soon as it's finished (7:30ish arrival is my guess). Just so you know. Thinking I'll roll arcanists.
  14. Thought this was the best area for this, feel free to move it if there is a better option. Cutting decks mandatory-awesome, increases randomness, prevents stacking of decks Different schemes every round-good and bad I like that this requires players to tweak their armies to handle different schemes and not just do bodyguard/hold out every round. If you use a single master through an entire tournament there are 14 valid choices. There are a few I would never consider using in a tournament and some are able to be taken multiple times, such as sabotage and bodyguard(brawl). How should those be handled? Scoring VP or w/l ratio? Overall VP total determining a winner is designed to reward a player that is able to maximize each game. I love this idea; however, there are some issues with it that I have seen in a few tournaments. Some armies and strategies grant additional VPs making the maximum available to players unequal Examples of extra VPS: Jack Daw- +1 if he kills a model and survives, +1 for opponent if he dies Hamlin the plagued scheme-possible 3 if announced Power Ritual (arcanist)-3 VP if done before turn 5 Steal Relic- 3 if model is still in play at end of the encounter Eye for an Eye-3 if announced shared escape and survive-max of 3 VP awarded instead of 4 shared plant the evidence-Vps earned only limited by the number of terrain features on the board shared a line in the sand-only 3 VPs possible for attacker or defender W/L ratio-Easy pairings during rounds and negates the VP differentials listed above effect on the tournament outcome beyond tiebreaker. The problem would be that someone can win with only 2 VPs and someone else could lose having earned 6 or even 8. Byes-Should the player get the average VPs earned by all players that round, just get 4 VPs and move on, or play the organizer and earn whatever they normally would? In a W/L setting getting either of the first 2 options and a Win wouldn’t hurt a players standings that much unless it comes down to strength of schedule. In Chicago Nilus let us choose either 4 VP or play him and see what we can earn. I liked this option as it doesn’t detract from a player's total possible VPs. Only problem would be if the organizer doesn’t have an army with him or doesn’t have time to play a game due to rules questions.
  15. Levi is a very versatile master in that he can bring a large variety of models. What play style do you enjoy? quick melee beat sticks, range, magic? I actually feel levi is most viable at 35 stones.
