  1. My favourites as far as best looking crew on the table would have to be Opehlia and her gremlins. The crew I like playing with would definitely be Kirai. It is very effective in game terms and unique in many of the things it can offer on the table tactically.
  2. Funny just had a count up yesterday by chance. Came to a grand total of 100 models. All are painted apart from two on my painting table which are half done. Two more on order. I have about another 10 I want to order to order but they may have to wait until the new year what with xmas coming and my kids seem to think presents are in order come xmas day.
  3. That well and truly answers my question and at the same time gets even more excited. I sat down and read the rules last night and was very impressed. It has the ability to have alot more depth in the game than I thought it would plus at the same time can be a quick, fun and simple game for younger ones. Well done Wyrd.
  4. That is good to hear. Care to ellaborate on your favourite parts of the game? I am very excited about it a great cahnce to drag my kids into gaming. They love the look of the puppets. Even more excited when I heard you could play Puppet wars on the new terraclips terrain :happypuppet1.
  5. I will be in. We have a few malifaux players here in Dunedin so all good. Nearly all my models are painted so I guess it will be the warlord title I am gunning for .:guns:
  6. Played a lilith grow list yesterday with nekima in. Yikes pretty horrible. I had Nico and got basically wiped out by turn 3. Tell me when a young neph grows and gets replaced does the new model get its full AP when activating that same turn. it happenned alot in the game and I was getting out activated all over the place.
  7. What is in need of a good rule set? I think Lassalle in that regard has for many given us a ruleset that allows the non-mathematician to play Napoloenics. Steampunk is now covered brilliantly by :adore: Malifuax . What do you want or what is not covered well by current rule sets?
  8. Sounds like a great game. It shows if you just focus on the objectives the rest is a fun sideshow.
  9. The Viks are doing well against Hoffman :congrats: Interesting you took the lawyer as that is something I had thought about. Abit more detail about how the lawyer got on in your game would be insightful.
  10. I have a large number of crews and Opehllia would have to be the tops for sheer fun. Can be a struggle against some crews but let them under estimate you at their peril.
  11. Yep used the watcher a couple of times in the second game to give Hoffman fast. Looking forward to taking Ryle as he think in conjunction with the watcher (models losing cover if the watcher is within 4") could be deadly. Add in machine puppet from Hoffman and that is a whole lot of firepower coming at you.
  12. Two games today. Ran at 30ss: Hoffman 6ss cache peacekeeper Guardian hunter watcher Mechanical attendant First vs outcasts lead by viks and freikorps with two trappers. Lasted 4 turns before I got wiped out. Flamethrower dude put early wounds on Peacekeeper then trapper took him out in melee. Hoffman got isolated and von schiel took him down with two shots. Very hard to hide from the trappers so tried to be aggressive with the peacekeeprt pulling Hoffman along. game two vs ramos list with steamborg and joss. Won it in effectively 5 turns peacekeeper amazing taking out steammborg and joss. Things I strugled with is what possible use is the mechanical attendant and the hunter proved very fragile. What else would people do with the mechanical attendant and what list would you take at 30ss. Maybe drop mechanical attendant and hunter and take Ryle?
  13. Nice one. Have a game tomorrow first time out with Hoff and crew so will try that out.
  14. Just starting with Hoffman trying to get my head around what he can do. So if Hoffman uses (0) Tap Power: Target friendly Construct within 6" recieves Slow. This model recieves Fast. If the model Hoffman uses it on has already activated that turn does the slow transfer across into next turn or is it lost at the conclusion of the current turn?

  16. Never had great success with the executioner. I would go for more troop spam allowing you more activations. Maybe guild guard or witchling stalkers. Like the watcher and Scales of Justice combo. I have always used the Governors proxy as the WP buff comes can come in handy against some masters.
  17. How do you do it that many times? i play Kirai and I haven't picked up on that.
  18. Lets not go down the same route that the Infinity forum went :boring:. Crooked Grin is just posting up some links for a new game he is excited about. I tried a game out over the weekend with a few proxy figures. Found it good fun. Not the same depth as malifaux however but still good for a change once in a while. They have posted up some new figures overnight you might want to check out. They have a big monster with a hammer which is pretty good.
  19. Agree it looks very good. Rules remind me alot of the old confrontation rules (which is a good thing). The miniatures although not up to Wyrd's standards still seem good. I have downloaded the rules and after a good read hope to get a game in this weekend. They have also put up on website the cards (each model has its own card with stats and abilities) for the first two starter box sets which makes playtesting much easier.
  20. I appreciate you can do that but is there any other way? To use 1AP to drag the Ikiryo back seems a waste of an AP when you should be using them as much as possible to summon new spirits.
  21. I may have missed it somewhere but how does someone sacrifice Ikryo? Do you do it in Ikryos activation or does Kirai do it? Does it cost an AP? The way I was playing it was Ikryo activates does two actions (one using melee expert) then sacrifices itself so in Kirai's activation it can get summoned again, effectively giving the Ikryo 2 activations a turn. My opponent questioned it then I couldn't find any rule etc that could justify it however I am sure I have read it somewhere.
  22. I run jack with my Kirai crew and find him invaluable in some situations. Just getting used to what he can do but think he will be a mainstay for a while. On a seperate note Kirai is loads of fun to play lots of great synergies etc. Well recomended.
  23. If you throw in an Onryo it has a a spell that cancels the effect of immune to influence. Might be worth a try and something he will not expect.
  24. That Perdita player might find the Governors proxy handy (+2 WP) in future vs Pandora.
  25. Get some punk zombies and the make them into spirits :slap:. I think you need a few more onryo. Easy to summon so why not give yourself the option. Also I don't see any gaki. You will need some of those as they can arrive just via triggers.
