  1. Thing is its the standard new stuff. You can approach alot of explorers the way you would the other 7 factions as they have lots of new abilities. This is always going to make them look powerful until people get used to it.
  2. I have to jump in and say I always take 2 gunsmiths, they do a great amount of work, usually together using creep along. Easy puncture due to ironsides/amina and the other triggers are no slouch either.
  3. Use the crew in keyword and don't take flush with cash, should be fine then. Competitively it's certainlya tough crew but not as bad as the naysayers would have you think, they just like a bit of salt 😉

Oh yeah, I mean he posted what he thinks, I posted what I think based off his own almighty assessment of his ability compared to actual video proof 😉 Maybe we're both right, maybe both wrong, maybe one or the other but it's out there and that's what's we think, all personal views. I think the games look thrown, if not then sure, but from supposed self confessed player skill what other opinion can I come to? Thats my opinion
  7. I was basing it off the cards I saw you flip so yeah you could have done it easily. You wouldn't have ended an activation in range as there was a big ass building in the way that the slow crew couldn't get around. Not apologising for that as from your rant about nekima being your master and tilt about cadmus then coming in here and posting it too then how does it look to anyone outside? It looks as I stated, you can say it isn't, but going off your own trumpet blowing followed by a rant 🤷‍♂️ I don't claim to be awesome, although plenty of people on this thread do then complain when we question it 🤣
  8. You shouldn't have been in that situation, but also you could have healed more from having 2 actions, killing the other nest and the eyes and ears that was on its own. This would have left you exactly the same position as if you had hit the heal trigger but also removed 2 more models 🤷‍♂️ I do think cadmus psyched uou out from the start so you were not playing to the standard people who know you come to expect. If you had wiped the nests turn 1 you could have easily taken on meredith turn 2 if you really wanted but that's another argument for another time. I was just surprised you didn't take the nests when they are such a threat to nekima who wants to be in melee without a parasite.
  9. He had wrath and seeing his cards both of those could have been lured in by staying 9 from them. Then ghosts the closest one for min 2. Then walk charge (one was already wounded moderate by a mature so down to 5 after passing 1 to other). He had cars for shove aside as we saw so charges healthier one, shoves to other blocking LoS between, attacks and blood for blood then charge "healthy" one (4 wounds left maybe). I'm going off cards seen. And even ignoring that, one would be dead with a mature still to go. Sorry you couldn't see the play
  10. As I said on my best day yeah, but I'm not consistent and have never claimed to be, unlike some people here. Just because your opponents know doesn't mean they play right. Sorry but kharnage played what I watched badly and hearing his pedigree what are we supposed to assume? He wasn't under pressure at that point, he's claiming that's his best master. Unless cadmus psyches him out then that was just bad.
  11. i'm too flakey in my gaming to make that good, some days i'm good, then others I forget what i'm doing and mess up from the setup. On my best day I'll give anyone a good run (might not win), on my worst I will be wooden spooning. Keeps me high middle as a player at best.
  12. sorry but even a rookie nekima player could have dropped both nests turn 1 with no counter play. then to "forget" (from self proclaimed nekima expert)blood for blood against a 1 wound model and waste an action turn 2 as well. I couldnt watch past that as I could see what was happening. I havent watched the other games but when I hear a dreamer is placed within 8 of unactivated models and gains parasite because of it then its all I need to know. I did see part of the mccabe game, where plaag knew he was facing a gunline so chose possibly the best map in vassal to counter it. so no, its exactly what I meant and how I wanted to come across.
  13. Let's not forget that these people are not playing their best as they have a point to prove about cadmus. Havent watched the dreamer game but for best dreamer player that just sounds bad play. Watched nekima game and for best nekima player was definitely bad play (should have removed both nests turn 1, turn 2 throwing corpses at 1 wound model instead of blood for blood, etc). So I don't think these videos prove anything tbh other than what plaag wants them to prove.
  14. Yeah thats basically what is done at tourneys, although think maybe one on left is defender as usually higher so defending their position. Ita certainly one way of doing it either way

Tbh just watching the game, only end of turn 1 and with wrath and that crew both totems should have been dead turn 1 with meredith not being in range to fire off a couple of shockwaves, also archivist wouldn't have been in range either. Gave up watching in turn 2. Surprised nekima didn't blood for blood to kill bezerker then go kill the other nest and eyes and ears on its own. Would have left her 2 wounds up and not been around for meredith to attack. Would have given some activation control too.
  16. TBH for neverborn into explorers I am picking one of 3 masters, titania, pandora or dreamer (maybe zoraida). If as Kharnage says they use DMH you also have collodi who is beyond broken. taking a melee centric nephilim crew into cadmus (or seeker as pointed out) is just asking to die, almost to prove a point so it can be posted everywhere. Yes an opponent can take treasure maps against titania (or neverborn) but supposedly they are also taking 2 flush with cash too so thats 8ss on upgrades. still only a couple of markers removed and not doing other stuff, then the crew is slowed down in general and possible hazardous. Pandora can make use of her activation control if close enough, plus things like the box opens, fears given form etc are really going to hurt those totems, then once in the middle of the crew, stunned turns off half the parasite givers and that leaves just nexus himself. pushing models half their move doesnt help them. grasping tentacles may even have some use as well. there is alot of salt about explorers in general. One thing I have noticed is they play very differently to the original 7, so you cant just take your standard playstyle and models into them. I actually think leaders like wong, rasputina and sonnia may have more play here, these are traditionally seen as weaker masters but would certainly do better than nekima IMO.
  17. I love no prisoners as it stands, but then I use the peacekeeper alot, also pretty good on phiona or others with at least 1 armour. Protects them from hazards, pulses, blasts etc on top of their armour, plus incidental movement and healing on kills. This is the sorted thing an upgrade should be rather than an auto take, situational. But I do like it and take it loads.
  18. Never stated PK is only playable in 2 crews, gave you examples of where I use him. I find him useful in loads of crews as he's a great 10ss beater who is very survivable.
  19. With the models within 2 you can get markers down. Also she speeds him up with her bonus by pushing it towards scheme markers. As for keyword, I prefer the h2w peacekeeper over Howard, more damage potential and survives more too. Each to their own but peacekeeper does far more than you realise it seems.
  20. Can't believe you started with the peacekeeper, from there I just couldn't take you seriously. I mean he's a beast, with flurry, easy access to fast in his keyword and is that threat of another attack. 4 actions is the dream? In Hoffman 4 is the standard and have had 5. I also run him nicely in Nellie where again its easy to get trail of gore and speed him up. Let's not forget he has a stat 6 gun too and can if he has power tokens hit min 5. Quellers, pistoleros and orderly I could get behind changes but nothing else in your list.
  21. Well as people seem to have the hardcopy of the book and podcasts are coming out its time for the explorers module. Please upgrade vassal to 3.4.10 There are also new maps and terrain options.   22. An explorers module will be ready as soon as needed. If we get the cards today you will have the module. Same as if you get the cards tomorrow. So no need for proxies.
  23. Problem with those of you listening to the very few people saying summoners are OP is that those fee people tend to be the loudest. Having played summoners and against them I find them no more OP than any other master. As for beaters that can take models apart easily, you have your viks, nekima,lady J, titania cam easily destroy multiple models in an activation and there are others our there not listed here
  24. so to go over your points: Cheap Models still have play, 2 actions that can actually do strats/schemes are better than a pass token any day of the week. Plus most people seem to save pass tokens for init turns 2-4, activation control really only comes into it maybe turn 1, and then turn 5 if you need to go last to score, which by this point cheap models are usually dead. Change to focus - yeah this is slightly annoying but hopefully there will be some fixes upcoming in next errata as like you say it does take away from peoples defensive options. Summoner masters - this has been gone over loads of times, I think most of us sit in the camp they are not even slightly OP and certainly are not winning tourneys. Yes you can summon something for an action, but beater masters can often kill that thing in an action, sometimes more than 1 thing. the resources for a decent summon are not being used to attack/defend. if you have used that stone and a 13 to get a great model you will get hit more often, or hit the enemy less. overall 3e is in a great place IMO, they balanced summoners better than 2e, they also balanced hand size to go with that. Swarms where you activate 10 pointless models then all your big hitters go last are gone, so thats great too.
  25. Will point out that you can't activate mindless zombies the turn the rider summons them, which is probably why nobody uses that trigger.
