  1. great movie. I really enjoyed it. It was like shaun of the dead where they kill more zombie and have more budget for effects.
  2. This is part one of the masters write ups by cacuin. These are not the end all be all of tactics for these master, but i will try to write as much useful info as I can and add whatever I can find on these masters as I can when able. So here is goes. Stats Her stat line is a mix of awesome and weak. Her movement is only a three. this would normally hinder her greatly but due to one of her 0 abilities allows her to keep up with the rest of her battle box. Willpower is the most amazing in the game. This means she will often get away with a little more then others. Her casting is a solid number with mask. This is important due to all her spells needing masks to do. She also has more hit points then most of the spellcasting focused masters. Weapons: Her pins are nothing really to write home about. Weak attack rate but the saving grace is poison. This means she will be doing at least some damage with it. Abilities: Bayou two steps-This can be one of the best ability she has in my mind. Now if only I could get it to work as well as I think it should. Course remembering it at all would be helpful a lot of the time. Enthrall- This allows her to get most of the gremlins and the pigs. Some people have been raving about how kool the gremlins are. So far the best use I could think to put these guy towards in a game is fodder/run to hold points on the board. Invisible servant- Anyway to take the game at the very end of it all. Suddenly getting to move will allow you some flexibility for that final turn. Proper manners- This is her defensive capability that will hopefully keep her from really taking to much of a beating. This will make enemy players make a choice of not being able to cheat it(possibly) or spend more actions for it. Expert caster-great ability for her. She can use this to cast off two great spells. Raven- this zero action allows her to change her walk to 10. As I stated earlier this allows her to keep up with the extremely fast battle box. It does have a down side. Summon voodoo doll- This allows her to get a free totem. Her totem can be very useful. Triggers- Maim-This allows her damage output to pick up for a single strike. Regret-another way for her to protect herself. Spells She has two 0 spells. This makes for a difficult choice since each one is highly useful for different reasons. Bewitch- This spell is one of the most useful offensive ability she has in my thoughts. The chance to keep people from cheating at all for a master during a round is the best things ever. Crystal ball is the other zero spell she has. This one give you manipulation of the deck. This can be helpful for you to plan your own turn. Note this should be noted that it's the hardest spell to cast for her requiring a 10 or higher of masks. Obey- this spell was once the most powerful in the game. Now with the errata it is simply a powerful spell instead of a broken one. I still wish we could still target masters with it. Now it can be used to do damage to your enemies, reposition them to better effect weather that be for scenario or for future attacks. Repulsive- This 1 cast spell is often one of my first turn actions with her. It allows my already fast force a push till at least 6 inches away. This ignores movement penalty from terrain as long as it is not impassable. Hex- this spell again is one that will not effect masters. The chance to completely remove a spell or talent from a model. Using this on my catfish men so they wont take damage from not being near each other. I cant see ever pulling this off on more then one of them. Totems- voodoo doll- this model is a summon-able model. When it comes out into play you can pick an enemy model to get a bonus for while attacking/casting at that model while within one inch of this totem. Bad news is it, like most things on zoraida it cant effect masters. The other thing of note is that zoraida has a lot of high cast spells. Primordial magic- again having an extra card in hand is never a bad thing. The cast is again still low. Battle box- This group has some extremely fast and has some very hard hitting models. Bad juju presents a great deal of tactics. His summoning in means he can come in where you are going to need him. The catfish men are extremely fast. They can move a total of 19 inches in one round without the extra 6 inches from repulsive. that is a massive amount of movement. The built in down side is their need to stay near each other. Other models in the faction Mature neph- this model can help keep Zoraida up with the rest of the faction. He is also a good guy to friendly obey. Doppelganger is able to copy the bewitch spell to cause some havoc. Most of zoraidas other spells would be out of the normal limit of his casting. Bayou two step might also be a decent ability to copy. Outcasts- Bayou Gremlin-cheap ass model that allows you to add number to your force. They are weak guys but still. numbers are numbers. Hammy adds to a great amount of control to board. I really like this guy. He and zoraida and the totem can make people nuts. Killjoy- This guy brought out on the same round as Juju can make they enemy have fits for as far as trying to decide which guy to try to take out before he can kill them. Plus he is a mean mean melee monster. Misaki- this chick is easily able to keep with our forces fairly well. A 13 inch threat range is always nice.

  4. trust me I play z too and have missed several things in my games. That one minor mistake is one i thankfully caught before I did. Now if only i could have caught the stuff about non-master only. /sigh
  5. Nice fight. One problem is Juju is immune to influence so obey doesn't work on him. Other then that great work.

    game four

    one of these days I will get my rules right. /sigh.
  7. I was using zorida again. I got the four quarter as my main and kidnap as the second. He had the take the center and did not choose a secondary. He was playing ramos box set. Round one. I moved/leaped my cat fish men to the center of the board, Summoned my voodoo doll. He moved his guys forward and toward the center. I summoned juju off to side and moved within charge of three of his guys. Round two I failed to get the first go. He moved a spider swarm up and did 6 points of damage to juju. Juju attacked the spider and killed it with the third attack. The second spider kills Juju back. Two leaping catfish kill the spider back. The third moves into range to avoid damage. Two blasts from ramos kills one of the catfish. zorida flies forward. Steamborg kills another of the catfish men. Juju comes back Round 3 I won the go and charged ramos. Doing some damage. Steamborg kills the last of the catfish men. Doll connects to steamborg. Ramos does little damage to juju. Obey causes steamy to charge ramos. Round four. Juju dies to the steamborg. Steamborg gets obey again and kills ramos. At this point we had a warmachine moment and thought to end the game. He possibly could have beaten Zorida with just the steam borg. As far as vp I had two and he had none.

These are not the end all be all of tactics for these master, but i will try to write as much useful info as I can and add whatever I can find on these masters as I can when able. So here is goes. Lilith mother of monsters. Overview: Lilith is a verstile melee combat master. Her spells are sometimes a secondary when compared to her presence in dishing out the melee hurt herself. She also has a strong connection with certain troops that lend well to her using her battle box well beyond the starting games. Stats- She is the fastest movement master for our faction and she is the only master for our faction with a listed charge range. Her defense stat is also extremely note worthy as being tied for the highest master in the game. Abilities: Black blood is of some note due to the fact that a badly injured model can kill itself when attack her. Most of the time the one point of damage is not going to make a huge difference in the course of a game. Rush of magic:This allows for tailoring of your hand to a minor extent. The only thing is I sometimes like low cards in my hand for discard fodder. Master of malifuax: There is no hiding from this power master. This makes some people quite un-happy with her. Great sword: standard ability which means she is going to lay down the hurt. Wicked:This ability pretty much ensures that once you engage someone they are not going to be able to use standard moves to get out of combat with you. Action: Fast: this is the most prized +1 things in the game. It allows her to do more of whatever you may need to do in the round. (0) Drain blood: this can be important since it is the main buff your able to provide to your battle box team. It does mean you have to choose between giving companion out or taking the tokens. (0)companion for one nephilim. common type ability but being able to have your mature and her pound on something before your enemy can do anything can often spell doom for what ever they are beating on. (2)whirling death-this is possibly better then flurry. Multi attacks in one action. I have yet to have this be better then normal attack action as of yet but I am dreaming of the day that this can happen. (1) blood from stone. I see very few times where i would use this. I find the use of soul stones for other things being such a focus for the resource i can justify using it. Some other will disagree and it is very tempting but as of yet I have yet to have it work out in the long run. Triggers: Bloody fate: like rush of magic gives you some options for getting rid of cards you don't want or need. Sometimes tho it will just give you more card:) never a bad thing. Disappear- the best thing about this trigger is it always works as long as they miss you. With that massive defense that we talked about earlier it will happen often. Once the first miss happens it just gets harder to hurt you. Spells: Alluring- this spell is something used as the first action before laying the beat down with lilith or making sure that your team can lay the beat down on their own. This is her second hardest spell to cast but thankfully there is no suit needed for this spell. Earthquake: this pulse spell allows for a great deal of tricks weather it be extra move for charge or removing people from cover it will have a great deal of effect on the enemy. It can also cause enemy to lose objectives. Illusionary terrain- this spell is by far her most useful. First it can block LOS for your models without hindering your box set team. It can also add a -1 draw to your enemy range and magic attacks. If nothing else the added difficulty of movement to the enemy may cause some problems as well. Good thing to note is while you can only have one forest out at a time it does not go away if lilith passes away. Transportation- this spell is the hardest for her to cost. It can be done with a 9 or higher of masks. It trades two models for position. this can be used reposition for defensive proposes, to take objectives or to set up offensive options. Battle box: This battle box has a great deal of movement options. All models are fast and can move out of activation in many ways. It has no range options for causing damage but it does have some small ways to protect itself from being attacked at range. Totems: Cherub- This guy is Lilith's own totem. It shares her disappear trigger and her casting stat. It has a range weapon allowing it to aid in offense without getting into the thick of combat.Being able to cast the same spell as the master with the same stat is very useful. Epically when you need that forest some place else now. He also has the power of love on his side. Love is an offensive de-buff. It lowers the effectiveness of attacks made by the model hit by it thusly making disappear far more likely to trigger. Primordial magic: this totem is the general totem for the never born. It's special thing is that it allows for a bigger hand for the player owning him. He also has the same casting stat as Lilith:) Expanding from battle box. Waldgeist- this dude seems to have been made for a Lilith crew. He takes the forest she makes and allows them to be moved around the board as well as beating the crap out of who ever is silly enough to get close to them. With armor 2 and prefect camo he tends to stick around for awhile too. Candy- Who doesnt love candy. I mean really. She has the ability to heal those little terror tots so they can stick around to grow big and strong. With transfer she can stay safely in the rear and have guys transported back to her for those tender mercies. Harmless can ensure she is not taken out to early from range too. Hooded rider:this guy is billy badass in my mind. Give him midnight and suddenly he doesn't need your forest to protect himself from range and magic attacks. This makes him an ideal flanker for your force. Doppelganger loves coping her weapon and her defense stats and fast. It is always nice to give the enemy a negative of taking the first go. Adding from outcasts Hans and the convict gunslinger both add a great deal of range support that could prove useful. Hamlin also adds a great deal of board control to the battle group.
  9. Obey from Hamlin could also cause people to walk into the fire. Oh look your dude not only walked into the fire but charged your master:) Obey is easily one of the most abusive abilities in the game and it is common as hell. Perdita, Zorida, Hamlin all have it.
  10. This one was against my buddy zombieatemygoldfish. He amusingly picked seamus as his first master and ran the battle box. He got the four quarter mission and picked the secondary of holdout which he did not declare. I was using zorida again and wound up with the exact same prime and secondary. round one lots of moving toward each other. Voodoo doll was summoned. juju was summoned near the main pack of seamus and the rest. One of the catfish was lured far enough forward to get a failed charge by seamus. fast action to get him afraid of undead and 0 to weaken his wp. round two. JuJu moves foward and landslides a group of three belles and seamus. then misses the attack seamus. seamus does the counter charge 0 action. He does some other things i cant remember. two cat fish men leap and attack failing on seamus. Belles attempt distracts on one cat fish, zorida flys to catch up. Doll reconnects to seamus. sybelle attack mud man Last cat fish man uses actions to walk away and gets stopped at least once. Seamus counter charges successfully. Killing the catfish Round three. Zorida succussfully casts hex to get rid of the hard to wound on seamus. Failed obey from both zorida and doll. Seamus shoots zorida and does weak damage. Charges zorida and does the lower wp. Belles slow the catfish men Cat fish men leap out and attack seamus for nothing. sybelle wacks the last of mud man. round four. Zorida and doll both hit seamus for weak. Seamus gets hit with a you cant use control cards. Seamus fails to summon, does slit your throat on zorida she discards. Then fails to hit. catfish men attack and knock seamus down to one. belles move up and try to lure failing. sybelle moves forward double to catch up. Poison kills seamus. We call the game at this point. Neither of us had the four quarter and we both had the hold out. So it was a tie. Comments. Holy crap is seamus a pain in the butt to hurt. Without hex i would not have gotten him. He had a shit ton of soulstones which made beating him a pain in the ass.

  12. ten years ago I would have graduated and been in the first year of my two years in the military as a MP. I was splitting time between a couple chicks and just being sauced. The only game I played was the once in a while vampire the masquerade when deployed since there was nothing else to do.
