  1. Thanks everyone! I'm just taking a break from painting this weekend, but it looks like I'll try and finish up the Essense of Power next for the crew as it looks like a slightly better totem for Raspituna to use in-game compared to the Wendigo (especially in my current gaming group we have a Ramos crew crawling all over us). After that will be Snow Storm, and then I might take my attention back to giving Lady Justice's Death Marshal crew some lovin'. I have a Peace Keeper in the works (more for the looks than in-game effects). Any suggestions on the staples for rounding out a Lady J. crew (totems, etc)?
  2. I've got a Wendigo added to the crew now - it was really quick to paint! Larger photos and work in progress shots on my blog: http://arrch.blogspot.com/2011/09/malifaux-wendigo.html
  3. Thanks for the comments everyone! @Xander - yes, I have plans to make some Pillars of Ice one day... @bossmann321 - the bases are pieces of slate glued together, and filled with putty. I then used Vallejo texture paste over it to hide the gaps and where the putty meets the rocks. @Stern - yes, lots more to come in the future. @Twizz666 - I can't take too much credit for the static grass - they are actually pre-made grass tufts by MiniNatur/Silfor. Army Painter make them too. They are really easy to use and look very effective.
  4. Hey everyone, Been working on these guys for a while now, but I got them finished last week. Didn't get a chance to post them earlier because of lots of last minute painting for Australian Golden Demons, but here is my Rasputina and Cult of December Crew in all their glory: Rasputina (Front and Back) Ice Golem (Front and Back) The Ice Gamin So I've got a Snow Storm, Wendigo and Essence of Power sitting on my table to be finished (not to mention I got my Dead Justice and Teddy last week in the mail...). Anyway, there are some more photos and larger versions of these ones on my blog, along with links to all the Work In Progress photos: http://arrch.blogspot.com/2011/09/cult-of-december-rasputina-finished.html
  5. Hey Lord Shaper, yep I am in Sydney - once a month, Hall of Heroes hosts a painting meetup (primarily organised through the OzPainters forum, but anyone is welcome), and they also have Malifaux demo days (the latest one being last Saturday). I see you went to Kirai me a River event - I was the one who did the CAD work for the promo tokens. Congrats on your placing!
  6. Thanks everyone! Yes, I will bring them along to the next Hall of Heroes meetup too so you folks in Sydney can have a look. I'm well on the way to finishing the Cult of December too, I posted a quick update today showing how the Ice Golem is turning out: Larger pics here with the rest of the crew: http://arrch.blogspot.com/2011/06/malifaux-rasputina-crew-update-again_27.html I'm going to add some snow and stuff to their bases next (I already started on the Ice Gamin).
  7. Great work, as I said on OzPainters, and when I saw it IRL... as I said, you need to paint up some girls to go with him!
  8. Thanks for the comments - I went for the Judge Dredd style green coloured knee and shin guards which works very well with the colour scheme that is on the Wyrd studio paintjobs. I think I need to add a Scales of Justice to the crew next (after I finish the Peacekeeper, though not sure how well the Peacekeeper works with this crew... still learning my way around the rules).
  9. Thanks Jeff - I hadn't really kept track of hours, but I'd say probably around 10hrs per figure. That's with a lot of breaks (sometimes spanning months in between). As you can see in my WIP photos on my blog, they did start life very messy and at times I thought they were so bad I might as well just start over again! But over time I just forced myself back to it and once getting past that half way point of doing I could see the end in sight.
  10. Thanks for the comments - yeah I've had some other people say that perhaps I need to add some dirt or something to the edges of the coat to give it a bit more texture. Though I guess if I did that I should do it to the Death Marshals' brown coats too.
  11. Hi everyone, been a while since I've posted here, but I recently got around to posting up photos of my Death Marshals crew. Ironically, I'm using my Rasputina crew in games even though they're not finished... There are some extra photos on my blog and a link to a lot of work in progress photos (too many spanning too many months for me to link here): http://arrch.blogspot.com/2011/06/malifaux-lady-justice-and-death.html So yeah, now I am back to working on my Rasputina crew and try and get them finished. I also need to convince Rob Jedi to finish his Death Marshals so we can have another meetup (maybe a scrap or two as well)...
  12. Congrats on second place, and also winning overall with your Ork in Large Model!
  13. Hi everyone, I'm Andrew better known as Numbat, from Sydney, Australia. I look after the OzPainters forum and have most recently run a Wyrd painting comp at a local wargaming convention, and been helping our local distributor demonstrate Wyrd around the local gaming stores. I'm currently painting up two factions - the Death Marshals and the Cult of December, and have been updating my blog with the process, but I thought I'd also come and share with you guys here. Many thanks to Nathan and the Wyrd Crew for making it all happen!
  14. I painted a Misaki earlier in the year and I know exactly what you mean about the joins. I ended up just using Zap glue to stick her arm on, but after it dried I used a lot of greenstuff to putty in the gap and basically rebuild the flow of the cloth over her arm. However, mine was for display, so I didn't intend to use her in games - if I did, I would do as suggested above and replace the staff with brass rod. Here's my finished version if you're interested: http://arrch.blogspot.com/2009/08/misaki-warmaiden.html
