All indications so far is that Malifaux will use a standard deck of 52 cards plus jokers- if special cards are made I believe they would just be for added flavor

Let's just keep bugging Nick for that battle report from GenCon- my guess is that will answer a lot of our questions in one fell swoop! (And raise many more I am sure!)

Did anyone shoot a video of a demo being run at GenCon on that great board?? (and I am patiently waiting for that promised battle report!?!)

The Morgue Assistant Sebastian is an awesome sculpt btw- I can see why you are drawn to it- I love a steam powered buzzsaw!

So would one of these advantages be Nino's "Boomer" rounds from the Ortega story in the Wyrd Chronicles? I have been guessing as to what one would be, thinking it is a soulstone bullet of some type.....

No shiny box on the starters- just a good deal on five minis- I just got the Ortega starter kit!

Leveticus and Rusty are Arcanist types as well- though Leveticus may combine the realms of Arcanist and Necromancer- but this should be somewhat revealed in Wyrd Chronicles 3- Too slow typing the morning- who would have thought G13 would be up so early on a Saturday?

Morgue Master and Sebastian are Necromancers- The Arcanist Masters as I understand it are Ramos (Steam), Rasputina (Ice/Elemental) and Marcus (Beast Master)

Easy! Leveticus, Hamelin, Rusty, Sebastian(steam buzzsaw come on!) and the upcoming steam beast or hired guns or a wererat beast for Hamelin whatever hits the market first (Ortega hired gun for now) Or the Ortegas, but someone already put them together!

They have to be rebased for CAOR anyway- may as well put them on nice looking 30s!

I am really considering rebasing some Conf minis for use in Malifaux. Mid-Nor are perfect images from nightmares and all the dolls! Seems they would make great Neverborn fillins. And the Griffin rifle and lodge of hod have that Guild look - Darkness hunters look like Guild witchhunters- also would make cool merc gunmen....

Any ideas on who the merc masters might be? Definitely want to build a merc force... Rusty- any story on her around? Hamelin- awesome sculpt and he conjures a great story of a child stealer, etc. Is he a nightmare neverborn or is he more an arcanist beastmaster type?? Any hints would be truly appreciated!

That would have been fun to get a taste of the system- well all in good time. I was too busy trying to guess the mini-painters who did the case pieces! I am not sure who I talked to before they handed me off to Nathan but I was real impressed with the customer service! But then I heard my friend betting thati was going to buy one of everything because I get a new game system every gen con so I had to walk away! Even though I never got into a system at a gencon since clanwar! But this one counts as I got hooked ....

Speaking of GenCon- I saw the beautiful setup and the big card deck, but were there actual demos using the alpha? If so I missed that, and I spent a major block of time there- I am kicking myself now if there were - I would love to run this system at Con of the North in February- and I have no problem building a weird west themed outpost town near one of the new portals!

So does this mean you are pulling your group away from Conf? Not that I would be surprised as the same is happening here...

Partially to stop the reminder, but mostly to say hello to some friends I see here from elsewhere in this small geek world of miniature gaming... My name is Aaron and I have been doing mini gaming way too long. I work by day as a lawyer and by night as a dad- sneaking painting and game/campaign design in by candlelight when I can. I have just moved to NW Wisconsin and am looking for others to game with in this area (Eau Claire, Superior, Twin Cities). I play Confrontation, AT43, 40k and Dark Age to name a few. I noticed the Wyrd booth at GenCon this year and was instantly drawn to the amazing line of minis and look forward to the Malifaux game.
