  1. Boy you aren't kidding there! This is one of the things that drives me nuts about Tournament focused games. It's often hard to relax and just enjoy the game. I'm sure it's just me but it does turn me off to a game pretty quick. Still I love the figs and Wyrd is working hard to make this game a success.
  2. Here you go. Quoted directly from the FAQ. Hope this helps. Placing Blast Templates Q: How do I place the second and third blast templates from a multi-blast (say it was a bbb) effect? A: The first blast template must touch a portion of the initial target’s base. Each additional template must touch a previous template. For two templates, one must touch the target. The second must touch the template touching the target. For three templates: one must touch the target, the second must touch the template touching the target, and the third must touch a template of your choosing. Yes, this does allow you to have three templates in a line (p.25). Q: Does the initial target of an attack with one or more b in it suffer the blast damage and the attack’s initial damage? A: No. The initial target of the attack causing the b suffers only the attack’s Dg. All other models in the b suffer the Dg indicated one step down on the attack’s damage. For example, an attack with Damage of 1/3b/5bb inflicting Severe damage would inflict 5 damage on the target, then place two b and inflict 3 damage on any other models touched by the two bs (p.56).
  3. Yes you can only be affected by the blast ONCE. That doesn't work. The primary target takes full damage, 5 on severe with Sonnia. Then any other models touched by a template would take 3 points. Even if 3 blast markers touched the same model the most damage you could do would be 5 for the primary target, 3 for anyone else. What you can do is spread those templates out with Sonnia's trigger and hit a WHOLE LOT of enemy models. Even models you couldn't normally target (Pandora), or models you don't have LOS to or are behind cover.
  4. Nice write up Berman. That was one heck of last game and no doubt. I got lucky and managed to summon Killjoy into the middle of Marcus's Siliurd swarm by the end of turn 1. That's what really saved me. With the catfishmen in melee with Killjoy it made it tough for them to out run me. Plus with Killjoy goin' fishin' with that chain hook he hauled in a lot of treasure. Mark did manage to get his treasure back at the last second by turning Killjoy into a beast and using alpha on him. Great move by Mark and I could only stand dumbstruck as Killjoy moved INTO the Bolster Undead aura to gain +2 CB, and then hook my own Necropunk (who was attempting to escape with Marcus' treasure. Hooked and hauled Killjoy butchered my Necropunk. Then the last living Siliurd leapt from out of nowhere grabbed the treasure and ran! Siliurd made it back round six and I JUST couldn't kill it. In the end I won with Army of the Dead, Bodyguard and Treasure Hunt 8 VP. Mark had Treasure Hunt, and Bodyguard. He failed to get his Sabotage off as he was too busy going for the treasure. It was a very close games though. Lot of fun and huge Kudo's to Brian for a well run, fun tourney. Plan is to do another one real soon. I can't wait.
  5. Stress the fluff too! My room mate wouldn't touch another minis game at all. I told him that's cool just read the fluff it's SO worth it. He did, he now owns 2+ starters sets and several blisters. Basically he was so hooked by the fluff he had to play in Malifaux. Course I also bought him his first starter set cause I'm a pusher...
  6. I've been thinking of mounting these onto a large base for blast markers: http://armorcast.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=100&products_id=1011 Don't know how big they are though so couldn't say if it would work. I made some Flame Wall markers out of credit cards and green stuff I'll post some pics once I've got a bit more paint on them. They came out really well I think.

  8. Anything can work, I love Francisco! Good solid all around fighter with some great abilities and only 5 SS, he's a bargain. Executioner can be OK, and a Death Marshall can be a nice addition. I wouldn't bother with more Witchlings though, that's just me.
  9. I LOVE your Teddy!! Got to be my favorite vision of Teddy so far. You do really nice work. My only comment is that I liked your 1st version a lot more than the second. When I saw the re-do I thought they were bird tracks, then I realised they were masks for Scream. Sorry. Candy is my second favorite with Cade right on her heels. Fantastic work bringing so much character to those little guys. Can't wait to see what else you've got in the works.
  10. You gotta bring Sam!! He's the man. Flamming bullets with Rapid Fire and Critical Strike is soooooo wrong. Makes me feel happy in my pants. :thumb: All kidding aside I love having Sam around. I like the Austringer on paper but I'm waiting for the models before I field them. I did add some Death Marshals and like what they bring to the table. They are my newly appointed Executioner taxi. Keeps the big lug alive till he hit center table. Governor's Proxy is our best totem IMHO. Adding to our WP is never a bad thing. Plus stripping the suits off of attacks feels right with a Sonia crew.
  11. Those are nice but they are sized wrong for Malifaux. They do have the cobblestone in 30mm that will work. I may just order some. Thanks for the heads up.
  12. I've had good luck just using little plastic tokens to mark damage on the models. Found them in the Floral section of the craft store, they even look like soul stones! For $4 you can't go wrong. Beside I've never had a model take more than 3 hits before it went away anyway.
  13. Oh that four was was a slaughter! Yeah it was! Lando says it like he was the one being slaughtered though. Rasputina took out my entire Res army with two spells. Thanks Lando. Still it was a riot. Great times, good people, good games.
  14. This was a great Tourney. I won 2nd place overall with this list Sonya Criid Governor Proxy Sam 3 x Witchling Stalkers 2 x Death Marshals Executioner Played against Pandora, Rasputina, Victoria's. Had a great time, thanks again to all who ran this or participated.
  15. So my son and I played another 25 SS scrap using Sonnia and Lilith. Here's the lists. Guild Sonnia Criid Samael Hopkins Executioner 2 x Witchling Stalkers Slaughter Breakthrough Neverborn Lilith Mature Nephlim 3 x Terror Tots Ronin Treasure Hunt Hold Out The battlefield was a blasted badlands with a few small mesas here and there. In the center was a large step pyramid. The treasure rested atop the pyramid in the center of the field. Round 1 Everyone moved forward. Lilith caught a ride with the Mature Nephlim and easily ran up to grab the Treasure. Guild had one Witchling on the far left the rest moved up the center trying desperately to get into the enemies back field. Round 2 Heatwave went into effect slowing everyone down. Turns out it gets hot out in the bad lands. Again not much happened a lot of moving forward towards the pyramid. Lilith placed a forest on the right side of the pyramid. Round 3 Sam moved up on the right side of the pyramid and was set upon by the Mature Nephlim and Lilith and was promptly torn apart. Sonnia Threw a couple of Flame Bursts doing weak damage and put up a flame wall to keep the Neverborn from running. The Witchling on the right was attacked by the Ronin but no damage was dealt. Tots moved up the pyramid. Round 4 Sonnia Threw two more Flame Bursts getting better damage flips and managing finish off the Mature and singe Lilith to boot. Flame Wall kept her safe. Executioner charged Lilith to no avail. Lilith cut him down, and began to retreat. Witchling on the right was killed by the Ronin and blew up. On the left one lone Witchling had been steadily moving towards the backfield. A lone Tot was sent to slow him down. The Witchling charged him and like the twisted little ninja he is cut him down. Round 5 Sonnia used Violation of Magic to transform the Ronin into another witchling, who was summoned atop the pyramid. Lilith pulled back and one of her Tots managed to grow using the blood token Lilith was holding. A second Tot tried to slow down the Witchling on the left and paid the ultimate price for interfering with the Guild. Round 6 The Neverborn were just too fast. Guild raced forward but was out of pistol range to even hurt the Neverborn. Lilith made it into her deployment zone and used Earthquake twice to pull the Young Nephlim back into friendly territory. Final Score Neverborn 6 Guild 0 Damn but the guild be slow! In a set up like this speed was key. When it comes to speed and movement the Neverborn really shine. Still a fun match up and good game. I won't be taking Breakthrough again I can tell you that.
