  1. dude..."rush hole" that has to be the most painful enema on the battlefeild! Even his own army is afraid of him!
  2. Yo momma!!! Oh wait, is it too early for the smack talk?
  3. Wow, I should have asked this BEFORE I started, but I'm a ghost of very little brain. My freinds and myself are going to try our hands at playing Deadlands, so I thought I would make a mini to fit my guy (several in our group are already being represented by various Ortegas -- FF, my wife LOVES Perdita. I'm afarid she may leave me for a mini!) S The guy I'm playing is a holy man of sorts who isn't much of a gun fighter. He is however, a sin bashing hard ass who pulled the cross off the wall of his ruined church and regyularly uses it to beat backsliders and abominations into submission. So I dug out a Black Scorpion mini that I was never hapy with, scrubbed off the incomplete, crappy paintjob, and set to work. The conversion is easy. I cut all of the nubbly bits off of the shotgun this fellow was holding, smoothed out the bumps with a file and some green stuff, and then added a crossbeam made of green stuff. I didn't build an armature underneath or anything, bcause I didn't think I needed it. was this a mistake? Also, since I figured this cros peice would just be a flat chunk of wood, I didn't really SCULPT it, so much as mush it on there, figuring I would just file it down to shape once it dried. Was this a bad idea, or will it work out ok? I currently have him sitting under desk lamp, because I remember hearing somewhere that this would help to "bake" the green stuff so it sets up more quickly.
  4. I think the problem here is that either the gun or the pose is out of character. She has a giant ass-kicker cannon, but then a whole "valley girl" kind of knock-kneed teen princess kind of pose. the kind of pose that tells us if she shot that thing, she'd go flying back on her ass and then bitch for the next three days about chippig a nail. she either needs to hae a smaller gun, or a slightly toughter stance. Right now she says "Sure, I'll hold your 'big gun' mr photographer. *titter*"
  5. O.K. I have to ask. When you learned to play this game, did you learn from the rule book, or did someone teach you how to play? Beacuse the rulebook itself seems disjointed and confusing. I finally got together with some freinds this past weekend and tried playing, and while I can see how the game might be fun once you understand what's going on, the book itself seems to work against your gaining this understanding.
  6. O.k. My favorite episodes were Out of Gas, and the pilot episode. But hands down, the best gorram line ever, in the series or the movie: "Dear Diary: Today I was pompus and my sister was crazy. Today we were kidnapped by hill folk, never to be seen again. It was the best day ever!!!"
  7. not a bad list. I've done all of the board/RGps you've mentioned, and can also hhigly recomend Last Night on Earth. I also have All Wound Up by Twilight Creations, which is kind of silly, but nice zombie themed fun. Cheapass Games makes some fun and easy to learn zombie games as well: The Great Brain Robbery (my favorite of their line) Give Me the Brain Dead Money As far as video games go, I have never been very good at anything that couldn't run on a Commodore 64, so I'm way behind you there. I do have Evil Dead: Fistfull of Boomstick for my PS 2. I'd love to buy an x-box 360 solely for the purpose of playing Dead Rising...it looks so cool. Why must the cool things be so expensive?
  8. We call this the "Stop or I'll poop!" pose, Perfected by an Emperial Officer mini from the Star Wars Miniatures game, but seen used effectively in many other minis lines.
  9. this quote alone shows what keeps me coming back the Wyrd forums....
  10. Besides sounding kind of romantic, we all know that priming in the rain can be kind of a pain in the butt, due to humidity issues. Does anyone have any tips on this, other than brush on primer (of which I have none)
  11. great stuff! like everyon else, I love the drool. It is kind of hard to tell from the pics, but did you make the central eye more glossy than the rest of him, to give it the big wet eye look?
  12. Reaper is pants? Here I thought I was hip because I watch Dr. Who and Monarch of the Glenn, but I don't get this one.
  13. Again, you're preaching to chior here. To me, the thing that always made zombies so imposing/scary was the slow, mindless advance. The knowledge that no mater how well you fought back, they would eventually wear you down through shear numbers and tenacity. I also agree with you on the mchine thing. But then again, they've come out and said the zombies are being led by a demon, which means that there is wacky kooky magic in the mix, and all bets are off. I'm sure the allies will next be developing power suits of some kind, since the Weird World War theme seems to be right behind zombies in the genre food chain.
  14. While I agree with your statement, I have to admit that the zombie fan culture has been on the rise the past few years, and with that musch interest, people are going to try ad find ways to breathe new life into the concept. Afer all, Romero's Living Dead, what we now consider the classic standard of zombiedom was a retake on the original concept of hatian zombies. So I can't blame them for the choice. People want to evolve the idea, to be the next Romero. We just have to keep in mind that sometimes evolution creates dead ends.
  15. Thanks for the encouragement, one and all. The funny thing is, I don't want to post pictures of my current WIP, because I plan to use it as a future Wyrd contest entry. I'll have to switch gears and spend some time on something I can show off. Vytis: My first dance moves were polka, but I'm learning to swing!
  16. Hi ZombiEd! What zombie games are you into? I'm from Pittsburgh, the zombie capital of the world, so I kind of grew up zombified. I just picked up All Things Zombie and Xtreme Zombie Hunter, but haven't had the chance to try them out yet.
  17. Out there on the internet, Wyrd Miniatures has announced the relase of an update on their Victoria, the Sword Mistress, Victoria, the Bounty Hunter http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/southernphuk/Finals/Viktoria-2.jpg I like this new figure, mostly because it is a little less cheesecake than the former version. Not that I shy away from a little skin, but it always bothers me when a gal who's going out to kick ass has her own ass hanging out. This version looks like she's the one responsible for that gaping wound across Killjoy's belly, and she's ready to carve him off another slice anytime he wants to try.
  18. Hi. I've been posting for a while now, but I finally got a decent camera. So I thought I would try to make a decent web site. http://www.freewebs.com/tallghost/index.htm Well, it is the thought that counts. Now maybe some day, I can do some decent paintjobs and actually take some decent pics. It's all a learning process.
  19. no. they are actually up on the on-line shop now. that's where i stole the pictures from
  20. Yes! Goblyn13 wins the no-prize. The as one story in particular about a pair of "cruel shoes" they were treated as such rare, high fashion itmes women were compelled to try them on.... Cruel Shoes Anna knew she had to have some new shoes today, and Carlo had helped her try on every pair in the store. Carlo spoke wearily, "Well, that's every pair of shoes in the place." "Oh, you must have one more pair..." "No, not one more pair... Well, we have the cruel shoes, but no one would want..." Anna interrupted, "Oh yes, let me see the cruel shoes!" Carlo looked incredulous. "No Anna, you don't understand, you see the cruel shoes are..." "Get them!" Carlo disappeared into the back room for a moment, then returned with an ordinary shoe box. He opened the lid and removed a hideous pair of black and white pumps. But these were not an ordinary pair of black and white pumps; both were left feet, one had aright angle turn with separate compartments that pointed the toes in impossible directions. The other shoe was six inches long and was curved inward like a rocking chair with a vise and razor blades to hold the foot in place. Carlo spoke hesitantly, "... Now you see why... they're not fit for humans..." "Put them on me." "But..." "Put them on me!" Carlo knew all arguments were useless. He knelt down before her and forced the feet into the shoes. The screams were incredible. Anna crawled over to the mirror and held her bloody feet up where she could see. "I like them." She paid Carlo and crawled out of the store into the street. Later that day, Carlo was overheard saying to a new customer, "Well, that's every shoe in the place. Unless, of course, you'd like to try the cruel shoes."
  21. I don't usually post reviews, so I'm not sure what to say here, but I wanted to let you all know. Chris Fitzpatrick over at Crocodile games has cooked up some pretty durn nice modern zombie minis. I brought these guys hom from Gencon and absoulutely love them. Great poses, good attention to detail, lots of character. There aren't a lot of modern zombie minis out there, and of those that do exist, many are obviously rushed or amaturish. These guys are the kind of minis you want to take your time on I can't wait to paint them, and at the same time, I want to work on other stuff to get better at painting before I take a stab at them (kind of like my Wyrd Belles) I hope this was helpful. Thanks for looking!!
  22. I'll be picking up the bald chick in the "cruel shoes" (a no-prize to anyone who gets that refrence) because my wife plays a bald, ax-weilding barbarian in our D&D game, and minis that fit the bill are hard to come by.
  23. dude, 'almost finished' with the base? I'm no expert, but it looks like a big ol' cork to me. You put alot of work in on the mini and made him look cool. put a little mroe work in on the base....
  24. Gratuluje!!! Thanks for sharing with us. It is always inspiring to see such high level work.
  25. Malfaux is actually just a "cool mispelling" of the words Mal Foe. you see, the game will involve all of the wyrd characters fighting against captain Mal Renolds of Firefly and Serenity fame.
