  1. Nice stuff! I especially like the use of statues as pillars. What are they? Also, is there some kind of cool pipe detail on the bottom of the water tower?
  2. What does everyone use for sculpting bases? O.K. so far I've done my Nicodem crew on the Wyrd graveyard bases (really great sculpts) and my Ortegas on some pretty nice plank textured bases from Mystic Hobby resins. Before this, all of my mini basing has been done by gluing sand to the base and painting it. I want to try to do more for my Lady J group (wasteland themed) and my Gremlins (byou themed, natch.) The whole point of this is really, what kind of paste/putty/whatever do you use when you're sculpting your base? Milliput? Green Stuff? something else? I noticed Vallijo textue paste mentioned in the Malifaux Chronicles, but never actually seen the stuff.
  3. Yeah, My Nic came with a pistol. I was puzzling out where it belonged, when my giant gorilla fingers and the force of gravity showed me that it obviously belonged in the deep pile carpet somewhere underneath my worktable.
  4. I'm going to jump on the clear plastic cup bandwagon. I just don't have enough molds to warrent using a large mixing bowl. I do highly reccomend using jet dry. It made a TON of difference. I also built a small vibrating board like the one they show at the hirst site ( http://www.hirstarts.com/casting/advanced.html#vibrate ) it has helped imensly with the airbubbles, and was exceedingly cheap. I found the back messager at GoodWill for $2, and a cafateria style tray at a garage sale.
  5. Well, I literally JUST moved into a new place, so I think I may be the winner for the cleanest and most organized looking: workspace by tallghost, on Flickr In a week or so, when I find and unpack all of my stuff, it might be different...
  6. Is that building also made out of the packageing fo the product you got the tag off of? I love it! Total recycling. "We're fighting on the their side of the breach to make our side a little greener."
  7. Yeah, it wasn't so much the moving it away from the body that was worring me, it was the getting the wobblies out. I was nervous about the micro bends, and didn't have a set of toothless pliers, so I sandwiched it between two butterknives and pressed. It did the trick. Then, I went to a workshop on jewlerymaking this evening and *bam* they had toothless pliers. about an hour too late. Thanks for all of the advice!
  8. Since pics were asked for, I thought I would show 'em. They all basicly looked like this: with the blades bent parallel to the body. I did try my best to fix one, inmuch the way that has been described, but I can't seem to get the wobble out.
  9. I just got my Punk Zombies, so I can finish off my Nicodem crew, and I've run into a bit of a problem. During shipping and whatnot, the swords have been bent so far that they all seem to be in the throws of stabing themselves in the face. Anyone have any tips on straightening out their swords (or puttin gthe proper katana-esque curve in them) without snapping them off? I did one with my own ape-like fingers and came pretty close to getting it, but it still has a bit of a wobble in it.
  10. I'll second the eyes. The pinkish glow is a nice departure, and fitting for the child-creepines. Cool stuff.
  11. Nice looking mini. As far as your pics go, at least you have decent looking lighting. I have a heck of a time lighting my minis.
  12. Earlier I posted some WIP pics of my take on Nicodem. Well, here's the finished product, along with his hired hand, mortimer. These three graves await some punk Zombies, which are on order at my FLGS.
  13. Hey! Sorry for the late reply, didn't notice I had a message... I'm a little eat of pittsburgh, and plan to start playing out of the Vault in Harrisburg, as soon as I get a crew painted. I've only recently heard of Legions. How long has it ben around?

  14. I kind of want to make a life size version of this out in my front yard...
  15. I especially like the beastie with the standing tree. I can see how just moments before he was up on the branches, appearing for all the world like a clump of leaves, and now he's dropped down to jack someone up.
  16. Can't wait to see what you do to the rest of the group. I am definitly stealing that darker snout idea if I ever pick these guys up.
  17. Will there be booth presence for Wyrd at Origins this year? I noticed there are no events planned.
  18. O.K. I am in the midst of painting up my Nicodem and I ran one small problem: I've never painted feathers before, and this guy is hauling around a huge Vulture! Is there anything I should keep in mind while I'm working on the bird? oh, and so you get an idea of what I'm working with, here's a WIP pic:
  19. Great job on those bases! The spiders on the wall look especially cool. ...and is the one of the far left encountering a tenticle?
  20. I think Hans is my favorite of the bunch.
  21. I didn't notice the base edge until Luddite pointed it out, I was taken with the blood that is still on the knife. It looks fresh and wet. what did you use?
  22. These are great minis. I especially like the hair on Lday J. There's a real feeling of volume there. Are those buildings in the background scratch built?
  23. Well, I've had some Wyrd lead sitting on my shelf for sometime now, and I've been kind of intimidated at the thought of painting them. Such great sculpts, I'd hate to screw them up. But If I'm going to start playing the game, I guess I should start painting the minis. I know the photography is bad, but I'm pretty lost behind a camera.
  24. I was at the demo today, and it was a fun time. Thanks alot for being patient and helpful, Ash.
  25. I was recently in my local Dollar General (is this a national chain?) when I came across: P-Nuttles: Butter Toffee Sunflower Kernels. I can't find crack cocaine specifically listed in the ingredients anywhere, but I'm sure it must be involved somehow. knowing that these kind of cheapo stores tend to just buy reminders and specials in lots, and then not replenish their stock, I went back and bought every bag they had on the shelf. I may have a problem....
